The redshirt senior dominated the middle of the field with the UAB defense the last two seasons, alongside all-conference linebacker Kris Moll, but the latter moved back to safety this offseason, opening up an intense struggle for the vacated spot. “The competition has been great,” UAB defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach David Reeves said. “We’ve got newcomers in there, we’ve got young guys that are growing up and it’s going to be a wide-open race all through the entire spring. We’re excited about it. Everybody’s working hard and that should be a revolving door at that position because of that.”
