Share Updated: 4:33 PM CDT Apr 12, 2021 WVTM 13 Digital The City of Tarrant fired its fire chief Monday afternoon following an investigation into his arrest in Georgia.Fire Chief Jason Rickels was arrested in Roswell March 12 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony."The City of Tarrant considers these actions absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible," Mayor Wayman Newton said. "This type of conduct will not be tolerated, and employees that choose to engage in such behavior will be dealt with swiftly and severely."The city also says it remains committed to protecting the residents and visitors of its "diverse, inclusive and multicultural community."—WATCH: Tarrant residents voice concerns over fire chief at meeting
