Taylor Porter will participate with Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) in a Partners in Education Roundtable Webinar - "Public Education: Then and Now, Is it Still the Path to Freedom?" The webinar will take place on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 1 p.m. central time. To register, visit vipsbr.org, or call 225.226.4700.
The webinar, in conjunction with February as Black History Month, will reflect on the history that blacks endured to obtain an education, particularly in East Baton Rouge; along with the current role education plays in preparing youth for bright futures. The audience will consist of adult stakeholders, community leaders, elected officials, donors, VIPS partners and board members, EBRP School Board Members, as well as Glen Oaks Middle/High School students.
