Taylor Swift Attempts to Game Billboard for #1 Song - Now Bundling Different Versions of 'willow' You may remember last July when Taylor Swift released Folklore she released what seemed like umpteen dozen versions of her single "Cardigan" in order to get a number one single, including a "cabin in candlelight version" (whatever that means), 5 vinyl singles and 2 cd singles (each bundled with a digital track to count as 2 purchases, of course). Shortly after "Cardigan" reached #1, Billboard rules changed and single purchases that come with merch / vinyl purchases no longer count until the merchandise is shipped. To put things into perspective, the cardigan vinyl singles that were sold during the "get cardigan to #1" campaign didn't actually ship until earlier in December, around 5 months after they counted towards it's chart placement in August.
