fjohnson@tribunemedia.net A TEENAGER has been sent to prison for allegedly robbing a food store earlier this week. Malcolm Rolle, 18, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes, accused of using a gun to rob a cashier at Variety Food Store on December 17. The prosecution alleged that the accused also assaulted a police officer and attempted to escape lawful custody when he was arrested 10 days later on December 27. Due to the nature of the armed robbery charge, Rolle was not required to enter a plea. As a result, his case was adjourned to March 19, 2021 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
