TenHaken on voting down mask mandate: 'There's no winners in this.' There are plenty of people who were thrilled that Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken voted down an extension of the mask mandate on Tuesday evening — and while there weren't many in the room, there's no lack of those who are frustrated with that decision, as well. And even though he had to break a promise to support the mandate to some of his fellow councilors, TenHaken said in an interview he still believes he made the right call. There's no one single thing that led to the decision, he said, although "some of it was the fact that there were only two proponents in that entire room last night, and they were from our healthcare systems. And I think that's very telling."
