Mayo Clinic's 93-year carillon steps into 21st century
One of the microphones being set up to allow for livestreaming of carillon performances Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the top of Mayo Clinic's Plummer Building in downtown Rochester. Audio and video equipment is being installed this week to allow for the livestreaming of performances by Mayo Clinic Carillonneur Austin Ferguson. Since 1928, when a carillon was installed atop the Plummer Building, downtown Rochester listeners have been treated to near-daily concerts from this musical instrument made of bells.
