Thu Sep 13 2001 at 17:28:23 The following is the letter sent by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama of Tibet to George W. Bush following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In the letter the Dalai Lama expresses his sympathies, offers prayer for those affected, and urges a non-violent resolution to this tragedy. I am deeply shocked by the terrorist attacks that took place involving four apparently hijacked aircrafts and the immense devastation these caused. It is a terrible tragedy that so many innocent lives have been lost and it seems unbelievable that anyone would choose to target the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. We are deeply saddened.
