Picture: SUPPLIED A Suva-based non-governmental organisation is fundraising to build five homes that were destroyed in Nawaca, Vanua Levu during Tropical Cyclone Yasa. First Responders are trying to raise at least $15,000 per home. Founder Sarah Conrad said one of their fundraising drives was a food stall located opposite the Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour. “Nawaca was the only village whose community hall was not destroyed or in use as an evacuation centre and the only one available to host the 40 volunteers who travelled across,” she said.
