Credit:Jason South Kaileen Pearson, 59, made a conscious decision to support her children and grandchildren, even if it meant not all her career dreams could happen. She wanted to be an academic but recognised the hours would be long and she would have to be absent. When her daughter Mandy moved to the city away from rural Victoria, the Yarra Valley, for work, Kaileen and her husband soon followed.
