View Comments A tornado likely touched down in Tipton County Sunday evening, the National Weather Service said. Videos and photos taken in the Munford area showed what appeared to be a tornado. Local 24 said a tornado was believed to have touched down in the area of Campground Road in Munford. Some damage was reported in the area. The NWS said earlier Sunday the Mid-South could see severe weather Sunday afternoon and evening. According to a forecast issued Sunday afternoon, the greatest risk of severe weather is from 3 to 10 p.m. "Scattered thunderstorms will develop through the day along and ahead of a slow-moving cold front this afternoon and early evening. These thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, and a few brief tornadoes. Localized flash flooding will be possible," according to the NWS.
