The Patriot Ledger The MIAA's Tournament Management Committee is considering a proposal for a new power-ranking system to be used with the statewide playoff plan for all sports that's coming for the 2021-22 school year. When the MIAA originally adopted the statewide playoff plan, it was supposed to be tied to MaxPreps' rating system. However, the MIAA membership seems to have cooled to that idea, especially since the trial run with MaxPreps that was supposed to take place this school year, before the statewide playoffs were introduced, had to be scrapped as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has so far canceled all MIAA playoffs for fall and winter seasons.
