The Roots of Contemporary Issues Program Annual George and Bernadine Converse Lecture | WSU Insider

March 11, 2021
Thursday, March 25, 7 p.m. (PST)
The history of racial disparities in the United States is long and deeply rooted. The Black Lives Matter mobilizations last summer reminded us of the explosive nature of racial mistreatment around law enforcement. In the wake of BLM, cities, counties, and states are trying to address the issue in a variety of ways. Please join Dr. Luis Fernandez (Criminal Justice and Criminology, Northern Arizona University) as he talks with us about the basic strategies currently being considered and describes the ideological orientations and assumptions that lead to what might seem like a practical way to address the problem. This event is also listed as a Common Reading Event. Free and open to the public. Register at https://connections.wsu.edu/events-calendar/rci-spring-2021-george-and-bernadine-converse-lecture/
