Spring has sprung in St. Johns County, and now, in contrast to last year at this time, there’s a lot to do. While it still feels good to engage in some exercise outside, before it gets too hot, there’s a 3K run, and for the foodies in the area, a food and wine festival. And that’s not even counting 15 days of music, opera, exhibits and more that start Saturday. Pro Watercross National Championship Tour On Saturday and Sunday at Vilano Beach, watercross racers will compete for more than $150,000 in prizes. Watercross racers compete on a closed-buoy course on personal watercraft, with as many as 16 racing at one time. Each race lasts an average of 10 laps, but the course, depending on the ocean, tides and water churned up by the racers, can vary from lap to lap.
