Their neighborhood of culture, love and memories is now being overtaken by gentrification, residents say. Tenants of Barbee Street Apartments, a 16-unit apartment complex at 2210 and 2216 Barbee Street, received a "Notice to Vacate" last Monday informing them they had until Feb. 10 to move out, as reported by Houston Chronicle's Anna Bauman. At that time, the new owner is set to begin renovations and will cut off all utilities.
