The OPP have not yet released any details about the incident, but reports suggest a possible shooting occurred at a residence on Albert Street resulting in one person being airlifted to Health Sciences North. Schools in the Espanola area were sent into lockdown as a result of the incident, but the lockdown was lifted shortly after noon. “Espanola High School and AB Ellis Public School went into hold and secure just after 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) when the local police advised the schools to do so,” said Nicole Charette, spokesperson for the Rainbow District School Board.
