Students at five schools self-isolating after possible COVID exposure on bus
Greater Sudbury students on several Rainbow District School Board buses are now in self-isolation following possible exposure to COVID-19.
Nicole Charette, the board’s communication officer says one student from Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School, and students from Lockerby Composite School and Sudbury Secondary School are required to self-isolate until February 5th.
She says there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at any of the schools currently.
Charette adds several students at Adamsdale Public School and Lasalle Secondary School are also self-isolating for the same reason.
Public Health Sudbury & Districts has announced an outbreak at Marymount Academy and St. Charles College where several classes have been cancelled. ....

Three suspects are in custody following an incident that occurred in Espanola on Thursday morning (Jan. 21), according to provincial police.
The OPP has not released any details about the incident, but reports suggest a possible shooting occurred at a residence on Albert Street resulting in one person being airlifted to Health Sciences North.
A neighbour in the area told The Sudbury Star that an individual had been shot in the shoulder at a nearby “drug house.”
Manitoulin OPP and the Anishinabek Police Service were on scene investigating the incident. Witnesses reported seeing canine and tactical units in the area. ....

Three suspects are in custody following an incident that occurred in Espanola on Thursday morning, according to provincial police.
The OPP have not yet released any details about the incident, but reports suggest a possible shooting occurred at a residence on Albert Street resulting in one person being airlifted to Health Sciences North.
Schools in the Espanola area were sent into lockdown as a result of the incident, but the lockdown was lifted shortly after noon.
“Espanola High School and AB Ellis Public School went into hold and secure just after 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) when the local police advised the schools to do so,” said Nicole Charette, spokesperson for the Rainbow District School Board. ....
