7:20 am, Apr. 16, 2021 A selfish shooter Thumbs Down: Last week, someone with a BB or pellet gun thought it would be cool to go around shooting at the windows of vehicles, homes and businesses in Alexandria. Sixteen incidents were reported to the police department. One of the homes that was hit was Mat Hennen’s. The shooter left a bunch of bullet holes in his big living room window – in a direct line with a place where his dog and kids often play. Fortunately, no one was injured but it left Hennen, and other property owners, feeling frustrated and angry. “What bothers me,” Hennen said, “is that it took the shooter five seconds and about $2 worth of ammunition and it’ll cost me a couple thousand dollars for the window… If someone wants to go and shoot some place, I have a field to show him.” Hennen hopes that someone with more information about the shootings will come forward and contact police at 320-763-6631. The incidents happened late at night on Wednesday, April 7 and into the early morning hours of April 8. Property was damaged on Jefferson, Kenwood and Lake streets, Highway 29 North, South Broadway, and 12th and 10th Avenue East. If you know something about the shootings or hear someone bragging about shooting up windows and vehicles, tell police. Whoever did this should face the consequences.
