Broughton Moor. Picture: Google Councillors have backed plans to build 66 new homes in a west Cumbrian village. Allerdale Council's development control committee gave their approval to plans to build a new housing estate on the edge of Broughton Moor, between Flimby and Little Broughton. The plans were drawn up by Gleeson Homes, a housing developer which specialises in the construction of low-cost homes. The committee, which met last Tuesday, heard a presentation from Gleeson Homes land director David Wright, in which he outlined the goals of the development. "This would be our first site in Allerdale itself," he explained. The homes, which are to be built on land to the north of Seaton Road, will range from two-bedroom to four bedroom properties.
