Vaccine appointments in the Beaver Valley are still tough to come by more than two months after the first shots became available. The state is in week 10 of a statewide vaccine effort with more locations offering vaccine appointments each week. Heritage Valley Health System, UPMC Health System and Allegheny Health Network, along with dozens of retail pharmacies, have all begun hosting vaccine clinics for members of group 1A. Under Pennsylvania regulations, front-line health workers, those 65 and older and those ages 16 to 64 who have certain health conditions ranging from obesity to cancer are eligible to receive a vaccine right now.
