Tips on how to celebrate safely, ending the year of the pandemic well


It's the most wonderful time of the year, Andy Williams sang, however, some of the magic has been compromised this holiday season by the global coronavirus pandemic. 
Kristen Hullum, trauma injury prevention coordinator and nurse at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center said for both the Christmas season and New Years, if families decide to have gatherings, they should be keep it small and outside as a way to be mindful of COVID-19.
"Consider gathering in a backyard rather than inside," Hullum said. "It's important to still maintain social distance, wear a mask and wash your hands." 
Every year, Hullum said, the trauma centers see an increase of firework injuries over New Year's.
