February 5 is a day etched into the minds of the Goodrich family after two-year-old Charli’s lung collapsed.
The toddler had been to the hospital multiple times that week, getting the “all-clear” from doctors.
With no major warning signs the tot’s health deteriorated quickly and Charli was flown from Kingaroy Hospital to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Mum Letisha Goodrich said Charli’s health continued to deteriorate on her first night in hospital.
“We learned she also had respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and pneumonia,” Mrs Goodrich said.
Charli was put on life-support as her body started “shutting down”.
