TOKYO – Japan’s capital city ended the workweek with a drop in new coronavirus infections and the U.S. military in Japan reported 34 by 6 p.m. Friday. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 868 individuals tested positive Friday, the lowest daily count since 618 on Monday, according to public broadcaster NHK and metro government data. The city recorded its highest one-day number of new cases, 2,447, on Jan. 7.
