Earlier this year, Luis Garcia, an employee of the Greater Sudbury Housing Corporation, alerted bylaw staff to a pet snake (belonging to a tenant of the housing corporation) that had grown too large to easily be accommodated indoors.
“On March 25, at approximately 12:35 p.m., officers attended the location and were provided access to the unit by the tenant,” a staff report noted. “It was confirmed by the tenant that the snake was a female python and was approximately six to eight feet in length. Subsequently, the tenant was served with an order to comply on March 26, requiring the owner to remove the snake (identified as a python) from the premise.”
