12/9/2020 Town completes installation of drainage pipe after flooding Cumberland town workers connect a new pipe to existing infrastructure under Diamond Hill Road at the roundabouts last week. (Breeze photos by Ethan Shorey) CUMBERLAND – Crews were wrapping up some finishing touches on installation of a new drainage pipe near the Diamond Hill roundabouts this week, said Mayor Jeff Mutter, but the line was fully functional for a second major storm in a week last Saturday. Highway Supt. Frank Stowik was on site last Saturday morning and told The Breeze that the water was flowing properly through the pipes. There were some people angry over the situation that caused homes to flood earlier in the week, said Stowik, but their houses were not the ones being flooded. Town workers got the job done for the taxpayers, he said.
