Since March 2020, a period when schools were mostly closed to students and operated with smaller-than-normal staffs, officials have tracked a total of more than 1,200 confirmed COVID-19 cases — 1,080 adults and 129 students — associated with CPS buildings, according to the district’s online tracker.
The most recent data, which is as of April 15 and denotes when cases were reported, cites a total of 34 adults and 19 children with “actionable” cases, meaning they were present in a school during a period when they could have been contagious. The previous week saw 40 adult and 18 student cases.
