Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Trail Mix workers helped repair two bridges on the Dan Bishop Aquatic Education Trail in time for Christmas. The trail was built for Auke Bay Elementary School students in the early 1990s. Students helped to construct the original trail. It also turned into a spot for parents and community members to learn about nature. School staff reported that the two bridges on the trail had become dangerous and slippery and was badly in need of repairs due to rotten wood. Workers removed and rebuilt both bridges last weekend. The team has constructed nine different bridges on the Treadwell Ditch trail this year.
