Here's why. In an announcement on Tuesday, Fresno's 144th Fighter Wing says it is part of a training exercise called Valley Thunder. Over the next two weeks, until Feb. 12, military fighter jets will be conducting training. The jets are taking off from the Fresno Air National Guard Base in Fresno, Calif. to different training airspaces. The Central Coast region is one of those being used for air combat training. F-15s, F-16s, F-35s, and T38s are some of the aircraft involved.
