COVID-19 testing available at San Luis Obispo Airport starting May 2

Beginning May 2, COVID-19 testing will be available at the San Luis Obispo Airport (SBP).
Inbound and outbound travelers and airport employees will be able to use the new testing facility voluntarily.
SBP is partnering with Templeton-based Nova Labs to administer two different types of tests.
People can choose between a saliva test with results available in four hours and a nasal swab with results available within 48 hours.
Courtney Pene is the deputy director of planning and outreach at SBP. She said each test will cost $100, but insurance companies are billed for the cost, so insured individuals will not be directly charged for a test. ....

A new testing facility, run by Templeton-based Nova Labs, LLC will open on May 2. The testing at the airport will cost 100 dollars per test for all travelers, tenants, and airport personnel. ACI Jet opens new facility at San Luis Obispo County Airport

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Private aviation service ACI Jet announced that it will begin providing services from its new facility at the San Luis Obispo County Airport on Monday.
Design for this facility began all the way back in 2005 with groundbreaking on the showroom hangar and corporate offices commencing in 2018.
ACI said the design of the new facility was inspired by the coastal mountain region of California. Natural wood finishes combined with exposed steel and neutral colors created a space that they hope easily transitions travelers to the region.
The facility also exceeds all guidelines established for environmentally friendly industrial design, including CalGreen certification. ....

You may hear the sound of fighter jets flying over the Central Coast for the next few weeks. Here s why.
In an announcement on Tuesday, Fresno s 144th Fighter Wing says it is part of a training exercise called Valley Thunder.
Over the next two weeks, until Feb. 12, military fighter jets will be conducting training. The jets are taking off from the Fresno Air National Guard Base in Fresno, Calif. to different training airspaces.
The Central Coast region is one of those being used for air combat training. F-15s, F-16s, F-35s, and T38s are some of the aircraft involved. ....
