Oh this is good isn't it camel fat and Jake Bugg Yes knotting I'm not Inghams own Jake Bugg cold be someone on B.B.C. Radio Nottingham at 7 minutes past 7 with me handsome in for some a this Wednesday evening good have you haven't a chilled out Wednesday the weather's been good as an IT just keeping it nice and nice and calm so far nice sort of warmish it's ideal for some I would say. Been enjoying the season thus far so now could be talking about dogs because as you may or may not know on Wednesday is like to bring a panel of experts in their chosen field to yet to really talk about what they do give you some tips and tricks so this week is dogs so dog walk right is here hi and dog groomer Leanne is here hello So Rachel how low how how did you get into walking dogs Oh gosh. So I had stuff A Her name is Jesse since I was about 6 and gosh I'm really bringing the mood and. She died March of last year so I decided I can't live life without a dog in it so I bought the business and I've been doing ever since Ok OK so and is it just walking dogs that you do know we do a mix of quite a lot of things because we're an adventure company and we do adventure days we do home boarding dogs with dogs so where do you take them on an adventure so we go to the peaks we're taking to be. Also yeah all sorts of different things OK and I mean you say boarding as well yes so what's so boarding is like an alternative to kennel so if your dog isn't a fan of kennels I basically take them into my home and they live as my dog if you like for you could have like a new dog every every week you do have a new Basically my life I mean that sounds ideal I have to say that sounds. Amazing what about you Lee and then how do you get into agreement so I 1st thought the agreement when I was 14 as a starter to go well I did work experience at school and then from there I got a Saturday job and then I left school and I start doing it full time so I've been doing it since our school writing yeah so like 12 years I've been in 2 different columns so I was at one for 5 years and then of a 5 years and then I open my own salon 2 years ago and did you have to do a lot of training and it was sort of like on the job training and then I put myself 3 level 3 seeing goads dog qualification. Do you have a dog I do I have a small dog called Bruno he's also question why they got Bruno OK And so why why do you 2 love dogs so much what it's like yeah I mean from our. Point Yeah I was conditional over Yeah have you always been around dogs Yes I mean well before I was 6 I was absolutely terrified before Jessie we had to cross the street because I was also terrified phrase How did you overcome that Jessie slept on my bed. But not so that how did you I don't know we just went away trees went away and that was it. I mean how that is yeah that's that's crazy I know absolutely insane why not you can't get enough a dog I kind of got enough for the moment you know what else have you got home so I have to these none of these are mine there so it's got to spaniels mom and daughter . I used to have a cock so the full 7 I was talking to cosset about this and I mentioned that. The joke I used to have is now migrated to Holland so I think it was my brother's dog that we were looking after while he lived with us for ages my brother was getting set up and he was well yes I have very fond memories and I guess I don't think cannot Maybe I should do what you would say Righto go just have them all and yet you have to have a different talk every week that's amazing and then I just can't take anymore you can just give it back yeah. Right. How do it I wonder if that's how baby sit is for you I'm not. Really it so that is right. And you can see him all about what it's like being around dogs all the time from them to simmering 5 now. And. Then. Meet. Any of your. Maroon 5 and gills like you 7. I could help it I'm so sorry. Don't call responses that sounded like the reason I play that is because we've got right Cheryl and his adult and he was a doll Grima And in this evening telling you all about the jobs what it's like with dogs and you must like people must but you must have us all of the time to write yeah yeah yeah no it's OK I'm so glad I got to play it for you again thank you very much I think that. Every now during at that track that Maroon 5 track I notice that Leon has got some very cool nails and they call it long and pointy pink and sparkly very beautiful I like but it begs the question Liane how can you groom dogs with those nails do they don't get in the way I do get asked this all the time actually of our customers and they always point them out. I just got them done regular To be honest Lots of every $3.00 to $4.00 weeks of the South. Have a nice night as well I don't groom Yes I do they don't like get in the way of what you need to do. You or they did and if anything I was more as tools Yeah I mean like when I'm back from dogs I think I quite like it on a muffin and Jad tissues into lots of thread to have almost. Like a that's good so if with thinking about now one thing obviously that dog's love is a good war cry obviously Yeah Yeah Yeah exactly so where is your favorite place in knots to go for a walk with the dogs right Drew. All that is tough. Put you on the spot here you know you. Name all the one if you want I mean you know up near where we live it's just we're really lucky I mean nothing should just offers so much countryside even I mean we've been doing this for a year and even this week with a new dog that we've got we've discovered new ones are still in had some great walks and you can walk for miles and miles and it's just you don't even realize where you are you could be in a hot Peak District for you know yeah and you're not just yeah allowed I'm. There also there are some really nice parts of the countryside to take walk in it was the best place what I usually And we got fair play she liked. Some Beeston which for a Muslim is so Branca Bronco Paul. You know I don and I took my dog that well while my wife or my dog and I took him there once his name's rebate expired so I took Rubik's to park once and it was he wasn't very good going off the lead so. Let's try it 1st try it was a big mistake you say my. Back you just run straight to a lady you had like a picnic. You. Fall into yes there is that. We've all been there yeah so can you guys have any food around you when you when you've got dogs if any of them it hopes probably going to start to yeah I mean I don't carry. This guy recently but I don't carry human food with me yet that's what I mean I don't like you look gosh now if I'm carrying like actual human food with me they just like it's kind of so your legs and they don't actually go anywhere you may just be stuck in the car park and they just gave Magill like a merry go round but if you got if you got treats with you it's kind of like they know that I'll get treats as and when. But no food no food just no no but you Liane I just don't trees no I don't ever take human food yeah yeah I try and you know you see an ice cream and sometimes products in the car and it's a disaster maybe after Like I said I don't think I'm anywhere like and I just got ready still as well just look at you like. Yeah you know what you have. Seen it was inside so what would you say is the most difficult thing about working with dogs. First. Right I know you love it but like any job it's got to have its ups and downs right. Yeah I mean don't dream and you don't always as much as it sounds like really pump it side of a job Fortunately you do get there is one thing groomed as much as they should pay so you do get them coming in quite like quite naughty and often involved sort of like. Always pca cases kind of thing where it's been sorry severely matted you kind of having to clip off the whole write down so there's all the skin and. But that's what's so amazed and the most rewarding as well for me it's making that dog feel better and so I've given it because of them when they're really that much to do so of their legs adjoining to their body and so yeah clipping all of the off and then all of a sudden this still comes and so sort of quiet and so for them the minute you've kicked off its care or got a bath or just fresh and opaque of comes back to life and it's sorry lovely to say and that's what's so rewarding as well oh all I was loved so it's a really nice side of the job but the best side of the job and that's yeah that's probably why I love to do it the Mary says help in that dog was sort of breeds tend to get more matted than others you know like the real kind of day it tends to be like a mixed breed what you call. It the wall type special A Yeah because just the high maintenance and they do need a lot of green men OK what about you what you What's what's what's difficult because walking dogs must be like having to keep hold of them all the time or having to keep an eye on them I mean do they have a run off that's one thing I mean well the hand we all have lead belts also usually is basically a belt where you were to actually still say like. OK yes it's kind of makes 103 so that's kind of one gone but yeah you do get so the to do roll working cocker spaniels for one or ones that dart because they're obviously they're working with their noses so any scent that they pick up they're gone but they always come back eventually. But yeah because you're in a pack they like to stay with the pack so even if they do run off they kind of go where to go and. I know I'm going now because we're all together yeah. But definitely I mean the Skins are really simple compared to yours but the worst is definitely inside bodies especially now coming into summer I mean I was I wear. I mean you can see under the table. My ankles are covered if you take from the long grass and I mean it's amazing but when you get home used. Oh my goodness I feel for you yeah I mean that if that's the worst part of my job I've done pretty well yeah but it's a it's you know it's a it's a small price small price to pay is a very small but like OK with that yeah OK that's good so that is great show dog and his dog or me that you've been hearing from and just been talking about what they do or is like working with dogs and you can be getting some tips as well from them so if you if you have any questions for them anything that you thinking that they might be able to answer obviously dog related than don't hesitate to get in touch the number is I 106783434 or you can text 81 triple 3 starting a message with the word not or if you're on social so I at B.B.C. Nottingham is the Twitter address was. Netball is a game of the Rings seconds. 3 seconds is all you have to grab. And for you. Drown out the noise. Tell me how you. Place me wish you never dated me guys. Lens. Hate me Ellie Golding and you swelled on B.B.C. Radio Nottingham It is 27 minutes past 7 and in the studio alongside me Hanson is a great chill and Leanne who work with dogs Leon's dog is a dog walker Now during that track. I discovered something this is how small of a world that our faculty of Nottinghamshire is so tell me about my brother's dog rebate checks and it turns out that Leon is actually growing Drake's before and I had no idea yet what. Behaves he was a very good character and so maybe this is a cockpit and says something else about talking about as a writer you say you have a lot of cockatoos on the books and. How are they just like really popular here or to be honest she can see why I was thinking oh they're just there there's such a nice dogs you've obviously got the cocker spaniel that's really intelligent so they're really easily trainable and then you've got the poodle Israeli spy game really bouncing stuff so the reef don't really play for a living so it's really nice mix to have a book that you can get I mean all different shapes and sizes depending on what you . Yammer they are generally sort of medium size and they say there are no i saw i used you know like they're not too big they're not too small they're active enough to like sort of go on family wall. Yeah and also they don't which is a bonus that is a massive bonus. If you don't have everyone they a nightmare to groom No you are actually like one of the best dogs to. Always I always thought that it would be and not because there's so light fluffy and not. So down to regular Graeme in there as well isn't it so how often do you think dogs should get groomed if you just based on the cockapoo or like I mean mixed breeds. Probably looking at every $6.00 to $8.00. Interesting. Grab out quite quickly does it I was going to ask how often should they get there I want to say nails is it nails or is that the right term you know you know I mean. How often should I get they get them clipped because I know about my time the Rubiks that scratched me I was like we need to cut these now I think is I do them every time they come in for Agree if they need doing but again it's all based on their walk and I suppose it depends where you will clear if you want them on pavement quite a lot it's just a natural cycle and you file really so we. Don't know yet so it depends I mean it's all if they scratch you loads take them to the N.S.A. I mean. It's good advice then I say yeah. OK So what about OK So have either of you ever worked with all of the how to work with dogs who were. For lack of a bet at the file and. Difficult a bit. Maybe on the borderline of violent you know and yes I have it yeah yeah how do you tell me more oh my gosh and usually it's just because they get overexcited and generally just because when they when a dog is telling another dog that they don't like it all like they get irritated or whatever it sounds basically their bark is a lot worse than their bite so if a dog is just out of My Space all right you know you're on top of me the ball and the growl which sounds a lot worse so we get that call we got quite a lot of special the ducks walk with us 5 days a week they get irritated with each other like anybody else stalls and they ground each other and we just have to explain to people that actually shows them telling them to back off really you have to break up a lot of dog fights no no no no it's back to say it's the ball that's a lot worse yeah it's loud Have you ever been bitten. Nope that's what you think I got them out. For me is a lot different I suppose because Doug remains a lot more. 100 when you touch in the middle places you know you perhaps left in the leg open so yeah I have come across quite a few that have a particularly like maybe because they've just not been used to the poppy and they've come to mean a late stage or it may be a case of like a bad experience. So yeah I have come across quite a few How do you deal with that. It's just all about building trust up in that dog again so I stick to my routine every time and it's the same order and same with even when I'm clip in to what for I says a 1st to the leg I do and then they generally just start to learn that I'm not actually going to hurt them it is you know a pain free process and it's actually yeah it should be a nice experience for them and it's just you get built in that trust back up with the dog and they need be most all sometimes which the owners tend to be a lot they're very understanding if they're aware that you know I'm very honest with them and they were I work with the owner just as much as they went with me say . When they go home you know sort of play with their feet a bit more give them sight so yeah it's just about working with the dog already on the owner supposed to do is a puppy aren't you so I went from day one. To the back of the legs everything that's supposed to be what's the word observed or monitored or whatever you supposed to touch it and get all touchy feely with them so that when they go to agreement it's not a strange experience being lifted open. That kind of thing that's interesting I never knew that Mary yeah maybe just because really it's just like to be all over the shop. And so. What breeds all your favorite to groom and slash walk that's too hot oh maybe it was. My you Liane. Yeah it is a tough one it is really so I think you know I'm going to give you some time to think about it OK So and you've got about 2 to happen it's going to place in 5 seconds of summer and then I'm going to ask Leon to write you that question again they're not going away from and I easily and so you can hear more from them after this from 5 Seconds Of Summer. Just like. We. Do. You. Know. Every summit you see. Just when we get the very thing. We. Do. Is. 2 beautiful. 5 Seconds Of Summer on B.B.C. Radio City and still plenty music to come for you including this week's B.B.C. Music B.B.C. Introducing track of the week past the one that's to come for you before 8 o'clock but been chatting to Rachel who's a dog walk and who is a dog in not a game and we talk about all things dog related So what kind you must have such a good time like doing lots of different styles on dogs do you get much freedom to do that again I was just thinking about what was my favorite breed and certainly undock or even your typical Pujols standard poodles for example because K. Khan has almost forgotten I've asked you that question he got it all right with that yeah yeah yeah I am a let you tell me why Yeah yeah yeah because you can just do sorry much with. You can do that sorry many sort of. Terms for standard poodle taken out of like a lion trim which is almost like a big mane at the front of the body and then shorts at the bat classical pompoms which is just like short tall a verb pompoms on the bottom of the legs of the like a welcome and that's quite cute as one of my favorites. Yeah you can do also says that I was there early There's even you can go as far as I color in a dog you can go do you do that I've done it. And what dog. For you and I dyed it blue wow wow everyone yeah OK No it doesn't go down my fave it's a lot of people can see it you know but it is done with all natural products and yes I thought I was you know I was right and as long as the dogs comfortable with it you know was that sort of set in and stuff that's you know I can't see any sort of problem or harm with the dog it's fine everyone thought it was going to be jump live after that actually thought it was a breed which is quite funny was for I was not truly that girl oh so good either I mean we like the drug abuse don't believe grown up dog. Breed. Actually call it this and have you ever had to go full new to like shave old the fire off have yet to get us to do that I mean it again working spaniels and stuff like that when they're running for the fields and they get you know they love water usually kind of the best thing for that breed is to just keep it all off because then the thing's going to be getting caught up in its coat and it's not going to be is going to dry quick it's going to not nice so get grass seeds and all twigs Yeah it's just a lot easier for the you know I'm going to bow out for how annoying well really having to having the 2 spaniels at home and having to brush them every hour because they've got those ridiculous sticky bullets stuck everywhere and I think that they're not particularly long heady that they're not. Discussed yet it's almost like kind of a tracks like this. Stuff that I've never even known these little B. Things existed in this world OK yeah it's like they attract all sorts of things so . Right you said you got some caucus spaniels at the moment and once a springer spaniel and yet the daughter she was bred with a working talks about he also she's a cross between a spring and a cocker ry OK. Yeah yeah I know Brock I. Guess brutal brutal You never
