A crucial meeting ahead of a vote to name the impeachment managers which majority whip hoyer says could be wednesday. Who will serve as impeachment managers is crucial. These are the prosecutors. They are the ones youll see there on television. Their job to make the argument to the nation, to senators that trump needs to be removed from office for abusing the power of his office. I just asked nancy pelosi about the criticism shes been receiving from republicans about her decision to delay transmitting those articles over amid concerns that democrats had that trial was not going to be fair. Could he just dismiss the whole trial even as you have three republican senators indicating not only do they not want it dismissed but they would want witnesses. There was a motion to dismiss in 1999 that senator robert burr put forward. Theres nothing outrageous about after the first phase of trial looking to make a motion.
