If you go back and look at the swine flu and what happens, you will see how many people died and how actually nothing was done for a long period of time as people were dying all over the flu. They were appalled by number of testing that you are seeing happening in the United States compares to whats happening in south korea on a daily basis. We are not where we need to be despite the president pushing for this optimistic message for testing. Lawmakers say hoping to change as the days come, they are still deeply unsatisfied of how that testing have gone so far. He was defending his decision, at the beginning the president said we blocked from china and last night announcing strong restrictions on travel if europe the president getting it wrong in his speech. The president says the right thing to do and he talked about americans trying to come home or coming the United States and he said this. We have been heavily tested. If americans coming back, we have a tremendous testing set up. If they are positive and trying to get through, if they are not, we are not putting them on planes if it shows positive. Are people being tested . Are they being tested getting on and off plane right now . My understanding is no. On the issue of testing, you counter of what the president said and open hearing on capitol hill today, and i quote this is a failing, lets admit it, kaitlan hit on the key point. The frustration over the testing is not just because the president says something exists does not exists. It says the United States is to quote Anthony Fauci is failing on this, compares to what singapore and south korea have done. It is still a number of weeks before testing can scale up. How this is falling apart. People on the hill getting phone calls constantly from those office and perplex as to how i see no effort to be prepare for the need of testing. Is it because we are so slow to get the testing. There is no question for that. You cant get alcohol and you cant get masks in our country. It is difficult to get tests. There is questions that have not been answered and until i get answers, i would not want to make a judgment whether or not i am satisfied. Chuck grassley who tried to be on the president s side is not saying all as well. And langford another conservative who tries to be an ally of the administration, people should not be saying if you want to test, you can get tested. The president of the United States have been saying if you want to test, you can get tested and they are beautiful. He often wants to be a cheerleader and saying everything is going great whether or not it is the case. He has really play the severity of this. We did see a shift in tone. He was more somber. He still wants to suggest that everything is going to be okay. That creates confusion for the public. People dont see that. And this also clearly these members of congress are chann channelling the concerns of their constituents and if they can get tested or being tested or not, there is a practical issue here. This goes to the president s overall approach here. The fact that the testing have fallen so short and few tests being conducted. We dont know the scope of either of the spread or where the outbreaks actually are. When the president says we are doing very well, most Public Health community and lawmakers now who have been talking about that with experts they trust knows this is about to get really bad but we dont have a way to measure it. They say theyre flying blind. Tes it allows them to use the daytoday to estimate what the problem is going to be weeks from now.
