They protected trump and gop leaders to stick to party lines. Thats what this is all about. At the same time they focused on the biden family. It is all about scandalizing and minimizing. Right wing post minimalize trumps misconduct and scandalize his opponents. You will keep hearing it for as long as biden is on the campaign trail. Lindsey graham vows to keep it going. He says this is just the beginning of oversight of the bidens. What have we learned . We have learned that two americas are coexisting, uneasily in two totally different universes. What you learn dependant on what you read and what you cared about the most. Chris murphy wrote about this at the New York Times. This trial in so many ways crystallized the completely diametrically opposed steps. Republicans perceive the deep state and the liberal media to be a threat for the country. That contrast had been growing for the last three years. This trial really crystallized that difference. Republicans thought about the deep state of the media conspiracy. I think we have a propaganda apparatus and trying to tell the truth and what i think is fascinating is how much the right wing apparatus has become so prime, it is now repeating the kind of trumps play book of lies and misinformation like the quote you had on the screen, you know, minimized, denied and essentially project what you are doing onto someone else and to see how tremendous that effect has been to see not only right wing media but republican senators and politicians also jump on board. It is terrifying. I dont know where we go from there to come to this kind of universal national agreed upon. Do you think chris murphy has a point when the senator says, everybody is afraid of something in this situation. Democrats are afraid of President Trump and republicans are afraid of the deep state and conspiracy. Thats real. Murphy is right, is he . I think hes absolutely right. When you look at which fears are legitimate. Democrats are looking at, we have a president who i think is honestly quite hard to deny done some series acts of wrong doing in office. You have republicans who are sort of invented deep state and liberals that are undermining our values and i am grammigrant are coming in. There are so much, trying to win on this politics of fear of change where as democrats are looking at the state of the country and saying how can we make sure that our public maintain its values and live our obligation to our constitution.
