At turning point usa we not only fight for our ideas of a free markets and governments but now we are fighting for free speech. We have to say, it is ok to hear something youd disagree with. You do not have to run into a safe space because you hear something you disagree with. I am perfectly ok with socialists having a right to be wrong. I am perfectly ok with a speaker to come on campus and tell people why they think their ideas are better. The question i will post throughout this whole discussion is why is it ok for left this to write and and storm stages and profile alarms and pull fire alarms and then i wonder, why are you shouting our speeches down and writing violently on campuses. The problem is, you like alcohol, right . Do you like alcohol . Very little. You have the right to drink alcohol. But why would you want to bring alcohol into naa meeting. Why would you want to enforce the same concept that colleges are places where free speech cant thrive . I think theyre wrong for campus culture. I think they divide people. Some safe spaces say people of the Lgbt Community only. Isnt that discrimination . I do not think anyone should be discriminated against. We are talking about safe spaces and what is allowed in those saves raises as far as speech. We are not talking about discriminating people against more discriminated. There are plenty of people not privileged to support donald. Plenty of people who are latino and black support conservative ideologies. If they want to be involved in safe spaces, let them. Let everyone join the safe spaces if they want to talk. But if you want to talk to a rape victim in a safe space about a brutal depiction of rape, that seems and tolerant. I feel like if you are discriminated against your entire life and you come to a diverse campus where people should tolerate you and then you are bullied by your roommate about something you cannot change about yourself and your looking about for a safe space, a safe space wouldve saved Tyler Clementis life. You are talking about people who might end up committing suicide. You are against that. Your definition of a safe space is not what they have become. I dont understand. Your organization tries to indoctrinate you to an unpopular idea. A lot of people believe in the value of free market of the constitution. What is going on with College Campuses . How is that free market . If you are such a free market advocate, what dont you go out and create a College Campus that has conservative leanings . It is undeniably that professors are tilted to the left. We democrat rather than republican. Because they are not doing the job of Goldman Sachs . Conservatives are making a bunch of money and liberals arent. Serve you want to go there conservatives are more likely to endow their professorships. Conservatives are more likely to put their names on the buildings. If you want to throw it, youve got to take it. People who started huge companies, who have been very successful. We are kind of proud of that. Graduates movement. First of all, there are a lot of interesting topics to discuss your personally attacking each other and each others organizations will not achieve the substance the people care about in this audience.
