I was working on my last book and was browsing the Harvard University library is looking for information on the body snatchers. Harvard has a wonderful collection of creepy and wonderful and beautiful stuff i did not find anything that tied into my topic but the Search Engine brought meet to a different collection that had nothing to do with my topics but was interesting. From the 1860s as a detective his name was james woods of detectives and detective stories teaching a class many years ago and he seemed interesting and fun perhaps good things would come of this. And harvard has a very long list of cases he worked on in one was this case. In fact, he was one of the yen this serial killers he had worked on. Is seemed like a good topic for my next book. I did not know too much. Few people had heard so restarted to have places around the city. But to be born in charles town 1859, a board with the local board some american had a defect in his white i. People made fun of him quite a bit. Ready was abused because he looked different and he really get abused at school. Children who were much older and bigger trade him pay dearly for that. His own father believed maybe he was possessed it was a sign of the double that something terrible was within him and his father abused him terribly so he grew up knowing quite a lot of pain. The only way he could control that is he started to abuse children that were much smaller than he was. People did not know what was him early on but they found out 1871 with the children across the street started to talk about a young boy who would be fran them to take them places and give them candy or just be friendly and eventually he started to take them into shared places but and use them or cut them or burn them or sexually mutilating them. The city what did didnt want to deal with that and tell boston realized there was something more then they wrote an article about him that was published and as soon as that hit people realized that even his mother recognized there was something about the description the people were giving that sounded familiar. She learned the be this boy had been in killing it was her own son. Instead of telling the police shugrue the whole family away from charlestown to south boston. Said she thought she would take the problem away because if you stop in chelsea it would start at himself boston. She became isolated, lonely isolated, lonely, he started to reach south boston and would come across little children who looked lonely and he started to abuse them as well. He get away with that for a long time until one boy who wasnt as fragile gave the detectives a clue that help to figure out who was doing this. Joseph kennedy was the little boy who told them he could not give a good description because he recognized the tallboy with a funny looking little i and because of that they narrowed down the person they were looking for. Day when talking through the schools and still did not find him. Jesse gave himself up pretty much. One day while walking home from school he thought would be fun to walk into a Police Station he walked right in in the one person that he saw was little boy he had just abused and they pointed a finger at him and pretty much he was done he knew he had given himself up and it was to leaf and he was arrested to take to juvenile then the court said he was too young for jail he went to a state reform school. Back then he was supposed to be there through the age of 18 which was six years. He was only 12. They realize that these tendencies he would grow out of it like a disease in feel better but his mother who really understood him tried to take care of him to make sure he would not stay there too long. Should talk to though local commissioners to make sure they recommended his release early in the in 16 months later he got out. So self boston did not want him there. They knew something terrible but he managed to return for about five weeks. But after months a little girl went missing. Not his usual style. He usually was looking for victims and would take children who were mostly bordets who were small and young but casey was a girl in a little bit older and she actually walked into the store where he was working and disappeared the police managed to look but they could not find anything so they let him go. They searched the area and did not find anything. Five weeks later there was a little boy you cannot be too careful but lots of people but to see them just walking around. But some people recognized the hat he was wearing, the heighth in new he had been there. With that description based upon the past that he had in the cruz of now they managed to arrest him. The man whose may be that is in the right word but said details of the case. But they really looked at him but he had a lot of scratches and blood on his clothing and his descriptions but he wishes that they would over the area before but those that matched precisely the there was a huge trial at the time and the people did not even want the trial they figured he would spend eric the only reasonable way, and there was a lot of questions cave of how could a 14 yearold boy but it is exciting to hear about this but people did not hear too much but those people whod talked to buy it that cave profamily mentally deceased they were called a dime novel back then to make it very plenty but to be influenced of what he was doing so they try to find reason why he was doing that. People thought he was a horrible end a terrible person and was born that way so there was no reason for any of their explanation. He was given a trial starting december 8, 1974 and at the time so he followed was happening or Oliver Wendell holmes in his mind, right did not have to be placed in jail or killed but he could be studied to figure he wasnt the only child doing these things but the only one people had heard of. So it would be a very good idea to steady him to see if you could learn something from him that people did not agree and the jury didnt either because as soon as the trial was done he was sentenced to die to hang. At the time the governor who was the only one who could sign the warrant of execution the governor did not want the state to be known as the state to execute a 14 yearold boy in thought they should not have that mark was to have that stamp to know that they would execute a 14 yearold boy. But then that was a fancy hotel. But we stayed intel but then he is in jail for life and in solitary confinement. He felt this would be the only thing but to go into solitary confinement at the age of 16. He stayed there over four decades in did not get out. He became but to spend that time in solitary confinement. He tries to escape half a dozen times he was not very lucky because he managed to get of jail the as soon as the cat out to the then lewis state decided put to the bridgewater hospital this still in existence today perhaps but then he tried to be very crafty to escape. Nobody knows where he was going but then he passed away but by the time he died but he for is but the the details through the 70s period few people knew about him knew about that time period. Mostly because the city did not want but student via in with someone that you should remember. Sarah darr learn choir ben the was this bad from the beginning . That almost on a daily basis this was her son isnt her baby in people were making fun of him so she tried to protect him. I think she felt guilty she couldnt do anything more. She did the best she could or she tried. He had a rather consistent of methodology but do you believe it would become more consistent similar to other carriers so to start off the fed one gelid of position and he gave a couple of mornings sox and would cut him will little bit but the third time he really tied them up but by the ninth child he stripped him completely cut him in a loss castrated him. But he managed to cover that up. He had done unspeakable things and it was horrifying how far he had grown.
