Council voted this weekend to unanimously sucker punch the rogue nation to the tune of 1 billion. Historic sanctions target everything from north koreas ability to trade coal, iron, led, seafood and guess what . China and russia joining the counsel, their hand finally forced by kim jonguns latest round of missile test just ten days ago. But is it all too little too late . Retired Lieutenant General served eight tours in the pacific region, hes with us on whether kim jongun is now really ready to go to war. And weve go on this breaking news. Bitcoin dramatically spiking to a new alltime high at this hour. Just as a controversial cryptocurrency leaked one of the most infamous lobbyists to ever walk the streets of dc is watching a new bitcoin reality show to help a bitcoin startup in congress not to kill the currency in its infancy. Jeff is here in a fox business exclusive. Plus, elon musks latest power play, it involves junk. And the top trade you should be making from your lawn chair. Plus, charlies about to break it. Were less than an hour to the closing bell on this monday, so lets start the countdown. Liz investors at this hour, you ready . Are about to witness the dows 52nd record since the election day. Any gains for the dow will be enough to get the bulls there, and it will be the ninth consecutive records for the blue chip index. I do warn that in the last couple of minutes, we started to head south at the highs of the session. We were up 28 right now the dow is up 13. We are also keeping a very close eye on the s p 500, which needs to close above this level. 2477. 83. Right now were at 2,479, so just a couple of points above it. If we do, that will finish the day at a new record for the first time this month. While stocks swim in the green, tesla says we need to raise some green if its all going to be able to seal those model three orders. The electrical Vehicle Company announcing its trying to raise 1. 5 billion through its first ever high yield junk bond offering. Teslas working through 455,000 reservations for the lower Price Electric sedan. 1,800 new reservations coming in daily since the first delivery of the car was made last week to tesla employees. And the rumor mill going wild over apple, which is getting ready, apparently, according to reports to introduce a new apple watch later this year that will be connected directly to cellular networks. According to these reports, the new watch will allow consumers to make phone calls, surf the web, send messages, download apps, stream music without an iphone nearby, and look at real humans directly in the eye. Oh, wait, not that last one. Youll be staring at your watch. Anyway, its unclear whether users will have to buy a separate cellular plan for the watch, but well keep you posted. And speaking of cellular plans, major wireless carrier sprint and tmobile have reportedly started talking again about a potential merger. Now, should the merger go through, it would push the combine company to the number two spot in the Wireless World behind at t. Sprint with 54 million subscribers, and you throw in tmobile, i think they have 70 million subscribers attempted a merger three years ago, but fears of getting the deal approved led the deal to fall apart. Tmobile has declined to comment but right now, both stocks are flat to slightly down. Is that okay . My floor director says thats fine. Folks, we may be seeing green pretty much on the screen as stocks hit record after record, but there is one thing thats really flashing its big warning sign. A complete sense of calm on wall street, despite all the headlines out there from north korea to turmoil in washington. The wall street fear barometer finished lowe ten only 26 times in its history. Which includes 1990 all the way to now. But since may, weve seen 17 of these historically low readings. So it is a window of time we really need you to watch. As we look at the vix, i is that a peak . When theres too much complacence, does that mean the markets about to fall . Well, look, thats what happened during the financial crisis. You can see how much the volatility was leading up to that. 2003 and now you can see it looks familiar. So is this just the calm before i dont know. A storm or hurricane. Remember, super storm sandy did happen in september. Lets get to the floor show with the traders at the new york stock exchange. Scott, ive asked that question over and over again. Im starting to feel silly. But i feel this i guess need or, you know, its important certainly to warn people. But something might eventually come. But the word eventually makes us all look dumb because it hasnt yet. Well, as a trader, the word eventually is in a trading plan because it doesnt make us. But youre right. Were in the eighth year of a bull market, so no one wants to get caught sleeping behind the wheel. So thats why were looking at week by week, month by month. Weve seen two weeks above 2460, maybe we get a move 2,500 plus. We want to see if bank looks up. So were trying to stay with this trade versus being worried about whats next without falling asleep behind the wheel. Liz allen, i remember when 12 was a low number for vix. Were at nine. Nine and change. Again, im pretty sure we havent closed below nine in the history. If we have, it hasnt been very often. Do you see any signals on the floor of the cme . And if so, where is that smart money flowing right now . Into anything . Maybe a fear trade . Well, what we typically see when we look at the vix options, theyre usually about 70 of the action on the call side. So people have been hedging. Theyve been protecting from that explosion that could happen at any time. But recently, that has come back down a little bit, so theres less protection being bought. So that may be something to Pay Attention to. But just because were at a low level, it doesnt mean we cant go lower. If we trade between 10 and 12 for more than three months now. So that targets eight on the downside. So, yes, that seems like a pretty depth, you know, pretty low depth. But, you know, markets can always move lower and right now, the fundamentals remain solid. Earnings, 10 growth this quarter. You cant question that. Maybe even 11 , by the way. And can i trademark that term . Okay. Phil. You tell me because you watch every market, dont you . And is there any message that oil is spending . I know theres an opec meeting two days now. I think theyre a little bit concerned about economic growth. I think thats one of the reasons why oil prices were so weak this year because they werent believing in the Global Oil Demand story. And, you know, like the vix index, you know, theres no fear in the marketplace, and theyve been really lackluster, and you have some of the worlds biggest and longest and strongest bulls throwing in the towel. But thats the time to get nervous. When everybody is lackluster about Global Demand when prices are cheap and then you continue to see supplies fall and demand blow away expectation, thats when youre going to get into a problem. The other thing is lack of investment. If nobody believes the markets going to go higher, nobodys going to spend the billions of dollars to meet the potential demand that may come. So, to me, its a big concern that were not more concerned about the future. If you look at the end of the yield curve on oil prices, its substantially lower than normal. And that becomes a problem for producers because they cant hedge. They have to lock in these low prices forever. And so that could be an issue liz great for the airlines and jet fuel but not many people in the business. Great to see all of you guys. And, folks, you have to stay with me because from volatility on wall street to the president s latest twitter storm, the president actually took a break from his working vacation earlier, sending out this barrage of tweets lashing out at the media, insisting his base is quote stronger than ever. This as a pending russia investigation and White House Leaks continue to aluminum over his administration. Lets get to adam shapiro who across the river in bridgewater, new jersey. Pretty much youre not really far from where the president s currently vacationing. But what Takes Center Stage for the president . We have the north korean situation where kim jongun just said in the past couple of hours that he will retribute, there will be retribution, thousands and thousands of times compared to the un security counsel sanctions. Yes. The north Korean Leader said i think it was 1,000 fold revenge. And of course the un sanctions are now in place, and this is going to cost a north korean economy close to a billion dollars. They wont be able to export coal. But when you ask whats on the president s plate, just about everything. This is a working vacation. And heres one of the tweets of many that were sent out today in which President Trump said, and this is a quote. Working hard from new jersey while white house goes through longplanned renovation. Who will he be meeting with . Well, hell be meeting with cabinet members as well as policy advisers on all of the policy issues weve been covering before the working vacation and will cover afterward. There is tax reform, theres raising the debt ceiling, there is north korea. So these are just a few of the things the president is going to be meeting with his advisers and cabinet members in new jersey as well as in new york. But the other issue thats front and center, the White House Leaks. Cracking down on leakers who leak information from the white house and capitol hill. You may recall on friday when attorney general director of national interference. But also cracking down on reporters who write stories or do television reports about leaks, heres what Rod Rosenstein said that kind of walking it back a bit. What we need to look at in every leaker we get. We look at the facts and circumstances. What was the potential harm caused by the leak . Thats more important to us than who is the lyric. So we identify somebody, no matter what their position is. And in that case, well prosecute it. Including white house officials and members of congress. Including anybody who breaks the law. Liz, as i wrap up and throw back to you, keep in mind the cabinet members and advisers going back and forth the last two weeks but chief of staff kelly will be here every day just about flying in from washington when the weather permits. A pretty nasty day here right now. Raining quite heavily. Liz yeah, that doesnt stop the work at the white house. Even though its quiet inside the beltway. Adam, thank you. Were about 49 minutes from hearing that bell ring and seeing at least two records at the moment. Were checking very closely on the s p and the dow, which are on track to breathe air. So high theyve never been there before. And in a surprising moment of unity, highly rare, folks. The un security counsel agreed with the u. S. request to slap north korea with the toughest ever economic sanctions regarding its escalating nuclear program. A big victory against the dictator kim jongun. But has the 1 billiondollar penalty come too late . Our next guest the u. S. Air force vice chief of staff. Youve seen his fair share over his threedecade career and whether they work. Liz at this hour, the saber rattling just got louder. The pentagon says its ready to help south korea put bigger warheads on missiles to deal with the growing threat of north korea. This as kim jongun threatens thousands fold revenge and said it will teach a severe lesson to the United States. Okay. So what happened over the weekend . The United Nations security counsel finally slapped the rogue nation with sanctions worth more than 1 billion. That is, by the way, the largest ever against the north korean regime. But will it matter . We thought we would give you a little history. The last time the un imposed sanctions on iran in 2010, it took 90 days to determine whether the sanctions were necessary. That would bring us to early november for the north koreans, and that gives that rogue nation even more time to continue testing its missiles while kim jongun says they already have the capability to hit mainland, usa. So are they too late . We bring in fox news analyst and former air force assistant chief of staff retired Lieutenant General. And you know the region, sir. You served many, many years in the pacific. Give us your Second Amendment of whether you believe north korea a can hit the mainland and b if hes serious when he says he will make us pay 1,000 fold. Well, first of all, i dont believe he can do it right now. Within a year, yes. Hes made rapid progress, liz, and we need to take this serious. Number two, i dont think earlier understands what he just said. Now, what i would tell him is mr. Kim jongun, if one round of artillery goes into seoul, korea, you will get our full nuclear retaliatory capability. There will not be a city left in north korea. You will be finished. Read my lips. Liz okay. Hold that thought. Dont we have to back that up, and that would include the deaths of many, many, many civilians. Should web prepared for that . I dont know if you fully understood what i said. If he gets our full nuclear retaliatory within minutes of going after seoul, there will be nothing left. If you go into airborne alert, we used to call it chrome dome with Nuclear Weapons and then Start Building up our other forces, et cetera. He will not last 15 minutes, and he cant put enough artillery into seoul in 10 to 15 minutes, and its going to be over because our weapons can hit his artillery pieces if you think of 2,000 crews missiles in the air, liz, and if you think of our full nuclear retaliatory capability, then theres not going to be anything left of north korea in 15 minutes. Completely. And i would make sure he understood that. Liz and now i do. I understand exactly what youre saying. Youre scaring the crew here, general. But, again. I want to scare them. Liz i get that but do you think the Trump Administration is ready to put that kind of muscle behind those words . Well, i believe if they look at the options of trading san francisco, seattle, los angeles for that, i think they will. We have a president , we have a secretary of defense called general mattis, we have a secretary of defense general dunn ford, we have National Security adviser general mcmasters. They know what needs to be done. Now, are they going to be as harsh as i am right now . Maybe or maybe not. I had 12 years in the pacific, eight tours, and i spent a lot of time there. And thats the only thing kim jongun left hand as will the russians and the chinese. Thats why i believe they are seeing the coercive diplomacy. They know when those three gentlemen made certain statements about full military capabilities, they know what we have. And it must be very clear that we will not accept a nuclear, even though theyve detonated five weapons, north korea with icbms. That is not acceptable. Liz do you feel that they could reach new york or los angeles as they claim theyre about to be able to do or even chicago . Not now. Within a year. But then its too late if we start to do something a year from now. Liz which brings me to november. I mean, if it takes three months and who knows what the un, the wheels of the un work remarkably slowly and unfairly. So who knows with them. Will that put us at a disadvantage . Because the closer and closer he gets, maybe he holds some power here, even if we have that Missile System on the ground in south korea to intercept those missiles. He does. By the way, youre very kind to the un to put it that way. The fact is, its a lot worse than that. But thats why i would start politically, i would form a political area Treaty Organization similar to nato. I would have south korea, japan, australia, new zealand, philippines, thailand, and other countries out there form not only against north korea expansion but chinese expansion. I would start moving in more missiles. I would put our nuclear retaliatory capability on ground alert that we used to have there when i was a dcs operations and intelligence for the pacific. I would put that back in, of course, with the approval of south korea. I would start increasing our naval and air forces in the region and so i would start doing those things now to lead turn the problem you said, its not going to be until november until we see the real impact to start lead turning this. We do not have a year left. This president was left the worst geopolitical situation for the United States since before world war ii. Liz Lieutenant General, very sobering comments from you and coming from you having served there and knowing those regions, its rather frightening. And who knows if its too late. But the un will take its time, im sure. Thank you for joining us, sir. Thank you, liz. Liz youre welcome. Okay. It is 38 minutes before the closing bell rings. Utx. United technology is a huge long time dow component, but it is at the bottom right now sinking in the dow 30 heat map after saying well, i dont know if it said this. But the word is that it may buy Rockwell Collins in a move that could lead to a spin off of the aerospace business. So its dragging down 3. 32 at the moment. Potsch and best of all, this new truck is actually gary all laughing oh my. Potsch the current chevy silverado. Gary im speechless. Gary this puts my ford truck to shame. James ill tell you, i might be a chevy guy now. laughing . Liz this is fascinating. Forget dollar bills and coins, the currency known as bitcoin is hitting an alltime record today. On friday, it closed at 2,855. Today it has jumped to 3,400. That is a 19 leap in a single weekend. And i know a lot of you dont understand exactly what bitcoin is. It is cryptocurrency. There have been arrests of people stealing this algorithm currency, ransomware payments, the long bucket list has a lot of people turning away from it, maybe even congress. But one man looking to change that. Jack served three and a half years in federal prison for conspiracy, bribery, and tax evasion. But now hes finding a new life on tv. Has a new show that starts filming this fall. Jack will be in it, and hes behind it. He joins us now in a fox business exclusive. And i guess the premise, jack, welcome to the show again, is that you will tutor or train bitcoin Startup Companies on how to Lobby Congress to allow them to do a clean business; correct . Right. Exactly. Basically, the show is that a group of engineers, folks who are not only from inside the beltway, inside washington are able to present things face to face with most human beings now need to come to washington and try to explain to congress in the ultimate kind of arena of discussion and things like that that they have an interesting that congress should not take a meat cleaver to but has to take a scalpel to. And my challenge is to help them do that. Liz it has been up 300 over five years, but it has been a rocky road that, again, frightens people. You remember the filth road controversy where bitcoin is being used to buy and sell illegal drugs, et cetera. How would you even start to explain this to congress in a docuseries . Well, for openers, obviously, theyre going to need to learn about what Digital Currencies are and the fact is that around the world, its exploding. But, however, as youve mentioned terrorists and drug dealers and other bad guys and gals have been using anonymous Digital Currency. So the group that im helping actually has developed, theyre called aml bitcoin, and it stands for antimoney laundering. And this is a coin thats going to launch in i guess a month or so, and it has patented technology to actually prevent the criminals from being involved in the Digital Currency world in the United States. Liz jack, you know, and youre ready for this question. But some might question your ability to guide somebody on lobbying when you yourself got into real trouble doing it and spent more than three years in prison. So how do you counter that . I mean, obviously the shows being shot, so somebody bought. Well, liz, ive been standing the last seven years of my life trying to reform the lobbying system. I obviously was at the wrong end of it, and it got me in a lot of trouble, and i paid the price for it. But since that time, ive come out and been working with the reform groups to do it. Were actually going to train this group to have moral lobbying, to not include any of the things that americans disdain about lobbying, which is using money to unlevel the Playing Field and things like that. So in a certain respect, the shows not only about bitcoin and not only about lobbying, but its about how lobbying can, in fact, be moral and, unfortunately, i am the expert on that because i was the bad boy on the other side. Liz well, yeah, its like hiring a hacker out of prison by legitimate company so that they can figure out where their holes are. But even the winklevoss twins, the guys who helped found facebook, even they got rejected by the fcc for their bitcoin etf. This is not so easy to do. Right. I think that each of the bitcoin enterprises have their own particular aspects, in fact, one recently was declared a security. Were not really going to get into that aspect of it. I think the focus of the folks who are coming to dc and the bitcoin folks is the aml component. Antimoney laundering, know your customer. Its the patriot act standards that banks use in the United States that has not been applied to most Digital Currencies, and thats what theyre going to promote in terms of congress. And, by the way, thats exactly what congress wants, which is a solution that keeps Digital Currencies available for our citizens, yet protects our country. Liz well, youll have to get in line because theres so many investigations right now that congress is steeped in, particularly regarding the russian alleged collusion here. You are somebody who understands what it means to be convicted for whatever crime. But inside the beltway. I do have to ask. Paul manafort, michael flynn, there are many, many names who are now under scrutiny for not having disclosed relationships with foreign countries, foreign governments while they were serving for the trump campaign. How do you see this ending . How do you see this going . Yeah. Its hard to know. Because obviously at all times, including in my case, i didnt know where my case would go, let alone how their cases would go. The media, unfortunately, jump into these things and create an image of whats going on. The prosecutors who are looking at it know what the facts are. If they violated the foreign registration act, its very unlikely anyone goes to prison for that. I think anyone has ever gone to prison for that. They may be subject to fine, it may be a misdemeanor, we dont know. But i think, however, the investigation is expanding into other areas that may implicate some of the democrats, particularly in the Hillary Clinton campaign in things that may, in fact, be crimes. Well just have to see how the prosecutors proceed, try not to jump to conclusions ahead of time because it destroys peoples reputations unfairly, and well just see where it comes out. Liz okay. Jack, thank you so much and come back when it launches and let people know where they can see it. It will be interesting to see bitcoin brigade the show. The reality docudrama or docuseries. Good to see you, jack. Thank you so much. Dow jones industrials up 14. That makes it a record. S p also two points above a record close. But beware of that low, low, low vix. Could close at an alltime low. Well be right back if only the signs were as obvious when you trade. Fidelitys active trader pro can help you find smarter entry and exit points and can help protect your potential profits. Fidelity where smarter investors will always be. Liz no sightings at least in this hour of President Trump as he is taking some vacation in new jersey. That way to the west of us. But the rest of congress somewhere on a beach but over in washington, d. C. It is so quiet you could hear a pen drop. We have major unresolved issues in legislation hanging in the balance, including health care and tax reform. This as the man leading the charge for President Trumps tax reform plan, republican senator orrin hatch cast serious doubt, poured water all over congress ability to pass legislation that would lower taxes for all. Heres what he said on sunday morning futures yesterday. The president has talked about three brackets, 10 , 25 , and 35 . Are these the rates that look good to you . Is this what you would like to see . What would you like to see in terms of an individual tax rate for the majority of the country . Well, i would like to see it very, very low. But those if we could get to those rates, that would be miraculous, that would be it would be very beneficial for the country. Liz miraculous. Former aid to senator Chuck Schumer and syndicated radio host chris and former Foreign Policy adviser to george w. Bush, republican strategist paul join us. Well, gentlemen, miraculous, yes, indeed because we havent seen tax reform in ages. But that doesnt really bode well, certainly for steven mnuchin, the treasury secretary first promise that this would be done by august, and then he backtracked it to december. But, paul, right off the bat, im thinking miraculous. Will it take a miracle . Im not sure why senator hatch said miraculous. Maybe that was just being a little bit dramatic. I think it is hard to do. But i certainly think its possible, given the fact that you have republicans desperately needing to do something on their agenda because theyre so unpopular now with the base, President Trump is much more popular with republicans. And secondly, there are about ten democrats in swing states that are nervous about the prospects of keeping their seats or fending off challengers. Theyre going to want to do something thats broadly popular and tax cuts are broadly popular. So not sure what the senator was telegraphing, but i dont think miraculous is quite the right word. Liz but i think paul just touched on something, chris. And that is there are democrats in the swing state and orrin hatch has a reputation for crossing the aisle to get legislation done. He wrote an incredible oped that i thought was really interesting, i believe it was in Time Magazine where he talked about compromising and negotiating with Teddy Kennedy back in the day. He called it an unlikely friendship. They were on total polar opposites of the aisle, but they came together to get Childrens Health insurance, americans with disabilities act and religious freedom act done and certainly, if anyone can get it done, could orrin hatch be the guy who then reaches across and works with democrats . Well, i mean, whether its orrin hatch or someone else, i think that its harder to have that partisan divide over tax policy where its not as black and white it doesnt appear as black and white to people and the nuance gets lost. So i think youre right that there could be some democrats that will cross over on tax policy issues, specifically if theres a middle class tax cut. Now, Many Democrats are going to oppose tax cuts across the board, particularly for the wealthy earners. But to get something done for the people in the middle, i think a compromise could be found there. Liz yeah, because i dont see conventional wisdom by punishing the middle class by not getting any tax cuts because everybody gets a tax cut. But they may not have time. The debt clock is ticking and when congress returns, theres something, like, only i believe 12 working days before we hit the debt ceiling. So thats 12 days lost, isnt it . It is, and they be on break, theyve got to get a budget so that they can get to reconciliation. Theres a lot of things they need to do but its not rocket science. There are plenty of ways politically, fiscally, unconstitutional to get to an agreement because as chris and i both have said here, there are democrats that want to see this happen and just give donald trump the opportunity to point out democrats and republicans who wouldnt do a middle class tax cut. Hell have a field day with that, so i would hope they would get their act together. Liz you were the former aid for Chuck Schumer. I know you dont advise the senator. But if you had his ear, what would you tell him . Well, i would say not to let this debt crisis go to waste because theyre going to need democratic votes on this. And it would be a perfect opportunity to see the needs the next couple of weeks get met because quite frankly, the Republican Leadership is not going to want to see a debt crisis under their watch. Theyre going to have to deal with very extreme members in both the house and the senate. That wont want to raise a debt ceiling. Theyre going to need a democratic votes and the democrats are going to need to get something for those votes. Liz its great to see you both. And, paul, i am with you on this point. They shouldnt have taken vacationers. Theres just too much to do. Paul, thank you. Its great to see you. Dow and s p folks, were watching these numbers very closely. Both are on pace to hit and close alltime records. But that vix is a little squirrly. Extreme complacency. Stay tuned. Were coming right back is this a phone . Or a little internet machine . Even Major League Baseball is getting tired of the bidding war for the miami marlins. Charlie gasparino, when is this going to end . Okay. Lets just give credit where credit was due. That was an excellent toss, whoever who wrote that . Liz that was excellent. Was that alicia . That was good. Youve got to give the people behind the scene credit sometimes. Liz i have the best team. I give my producer credit. You have to give your people credit. Heres what i do know about the sale. Major league baseball, meaning the Commissioners Office is growing increasingly impatient with the impasse that the owner still hasnt picked one of the three potential bidders that are in there right now. The three bidders are george, the south florida billionaire businessman, a guy named wane who is in new york who runs a hemorrhag hedge fund. Liz is that a new name . Yeah. But you dont hear him that much. He doesnt have the star power as the next guy, derek jeter, the old new york yankee, soon to be hall of famer. Those are the two favorite george and roth. Jeter doesnt have enough of his own money in it to be the controlling person, from what i understand. And heres the rub. Next week is the owners meet meeting. I believe its august 16th and 17th. Thats where theres this will be discussed, and i think what youll hear from rob is where is this thing and whats happening . Because the team is still continuing to lose money, they have contracts that are due increasingly over the next years. It is a situation that needs to be fixed. At least baseball believes that. So next week is the owners meeting. Were likely to hear something come out about the status of this. Again, the three bidders are there. George, still interested, derek jeter, ironically derek jeter has the least of his own money, but from what i understand, the highest potential bid and investment banker still looking to raise money, 1. 2, 1. 3 billion. Moss is a little more than a billion. So there you have it. I think if baseball has its brothers, its a local guy they would like to give it to. He has connection to the community, south florida businessman, longstanding cuban family in south florida. So next week is the owners meeting, and well see what happens. I mean, this thing is i mean, youve got to admit. How many i mean, its the gift that keeps on giving. Liz can i quote meryl streep . By all means, feel free to move at a glacial pace. Well, its kind of interesting. Liz these things take time. These things take time but this is a this is a franchise. I mean, listen, why is the marlins, which is very mediocre mediocre financially. They actually lose money from what i understand. Why do you have a bid of, like, over a billion for a franchise like this . Well, its a scarcity value deal. So the people want it. We should point out that if this deal gets done at a billion, the new york yankees, which right now have the are the most valuable team at Something Like three or four billion, will be when i talk to people will be worth like five billion. So it moves everybody up if this thing does sell for this price. I still dont think its worth it. Listen, all you have to do is look up cord cutting where people are no longer watching tv as much, theyre doing this. And that impacts baseball revenues on the when they sell their games to cable franchises. Liz well, you know, maybe there will be a new bid from tanter boil and kelly leak. Whos that . Liz you guys know. Some of you out there know. Whos that . Who is that . Liz bad news bears. Oh, thats right. Yes, i remember that. Liz tanner. I thought that was, like, a tanner boil was, like, the housewives of new jersey. Liz he might be. I dont know any of these people. Liz seven minutes before the closing bell rings. Congress, senators, the commanderinchief, and probably you at home chilling at home. But as summer comes, the fall. September, volatility known for it just weeks away. What is the number one trade you need to be making right now . Maybe even from your lawn chair to prepare. 392billiondollar firm Eddie Perkins up at bat. He joins us next with what to do. I had frequent heartburn, but my doctor recommended. Prilosec otc 7 years ago, 5 years ago, last week. Just 1 pill each morning, 24 hours and zero heartburn. Its been the number 1 doctor recommended brand for 10. Straight years, and its still recommended today. Use as directed. Liz if youre on the 405, or the 5, or 7 through 17 going through cleveland you need to pull over because we are at a session high for the s p 500, up 4 points right this moment. That will be the first record of august, brand new alltime high. Were watching that of course any gain for the dow is the ninth record in a row. Summertime, what is happening certainly on wall street but the living is easy. Everybody is relaxing, however come september historically known as one of the most volatile months of the year. Bring in a guy who experienced that. Eddie perkins has moves you should make right now. Eddie, before september might bring a storm or two . Tell us about it. Sure. It is important for investors not to let the slow periods, doldrums of august force you into sense of complacency. It is good time to be patient and cash ready to go opportunities present themselves. We have unprecedented low volatility, that continues with everybody on vacation. Look for stocks that traded off. Some of the stocks that worked very well end of last year, lagged this year, some trump trade stocks benefit from tax reform. Some more cyclical stocks, some yield stocks, that have lagged. That is where i would be sharpening my pencil and putting money to work. Melissa do you have names liz do you have names right now that seem to be bargains at the moment . Cr robinson. They are a major trucking firm. A play on industrial production. The stock at 52week low. High quality, high return on investment capital, High Growth Company with Great Technology and high tax rate. So if there is Corporate Tax reform they will benefit from that. As the u. S. Economy and everything were hearing from companies especially small and midsized businesses the u. S. Economy is growing strongly, that will benefit c. H. Robinson of the truck market is tightening a lot. Liz you like verizon. Only a few more seconds to go because were seeing record close here for the dow. Yes for the s p at this very moment. Do you see a correction as were up against the closing bell . Maybe. Dont know when. Stock market looks rich to me and i think at some point we will get a pullback but we havent had one, most of the last year. Yeah, maybe at some point. [closing bell rings] liz there you go. S p notching the first record of august. Dow jones industrials ninth of the year. Lets get to after the bell with lauren and cheryl. Great way to kick off the monday, liz, thank you so much. The dow charging ahead, ending, you guessed it at another record high. Were closing at 221,117. Were just four points away from 22,117. Let the numbers settle. We might get there. Im lauren sim in for david asman. Im Cheryl Casone in for melissa francis. This is after the bell. Well have much more on the big market movers. First here is what else were covering for you during this hour
