Names, addresses, phone numbers and in some case it is security pins of millions of verizon customers publicly exposed online by one of the companys venders, nice system based in israel, apparently a researcher from Software Security form up guard that discovered the breach and pulled verizon in late june. An employee of nightses system put information into a storage cloud area and set storage to allow external access and as many as 14 million customers were found on unsecured storage controlled by nice systems. The number is close to 6 million customers and theres been no loss or theft or verizon customer information. The human error is not related to any of our products or production, environments, nor level of security but rather to an isolated staging area with limited information for a specific project.
