The main thing once we realize were not going to get full repeal people needed relief from premiums. They said ten years. We have got provisions in their is going to repeal some of the mandates and the cost of healthcare. They are concerned about their constituents just like the rest of us. And they wanted to make sure we are all in agreemenwere not going to take out the preexisting condition language. We are all in agreement on that. I support 50 and younger. And not pain into it. What skews the ability. In a bunch of older folks. How can you stop the premiums from going up. I thought it was at the heart of your problems with this. We are not overlooking. Thats one of the things that has come in. One of the amendments that has been added actually well had high risk pools. The high risk pools mean in other and other states have done it effectively. Like the car insurance. It pulls out the high risk folks. They drive up the cost dramatically. But then it brings down the cost for everybody else. That is one of the things that had to be added. The amendment address is that. Like i said. This is the best we are going to get. People have to have relief. Were taking a lot of the mandates. But tom price is going to be able to do some good. It is going to give release for high premiums as quickly as possible. We will not help them this year. It should make a difference for next year. Everyone goes to dc to work and to make legislation. We just did a fox news poll and 71 percent of our viewers said fixing healthcare was the number one most important thing to do. Megan does it feel like there are some loopholes in here. They also had to go to the senate where their own version and send it back to you. The one you get back. Is probably going to challenge the court conventions even more. Speemac this is as far as we can go. We are actually hopeful that it will be strengthened in the senate. That is unusual that conservatives in the house would have any hope. People need to have help with their premiums and bring those things down. Basically most people were having catastrophic injuries. Let me just ask. I dont want to run out of time without letting the audience know that you introduce it. Just in case. The idea came back in 2011 when i realized when the speaker was going to try to use the military and demands for making sure the military got paid on time to get republicans to rope through a bad bill. The problem with using material like that. Many of them live monthtomonth. The last thing they need to worry about. When they are in harms way for us. Is that there check may not make it to the bank this month. Anyway we passed a bill in 2013 that was only good for a year. Needs to be permanent. If there is a shut down the Social Security in our military still get paid always get paid. That needs to happen. We appreciate you. We want to get to the panel now because this is a serious conversation going on. Are you satisfied that the Freedom Caucus blinked. I know louis really well and he is a good friend and he is a former colleague. I have to tell you something. Listening to him talk about this bill he sounds like his best dog just died. Louis hates this bill and i can tell you this. Evermember of the Freedom Caucus cannot stand this bill. And love them all but they are succumbing to the political pressure to do something. I get it. Its a huge mistake. They dont like this thing and all. Is pretty apparent thats for sure. To that point we saw a lot of people under president obama fall on their political career. They just gave up. Having said that the just so critical to get some ws for the white house that may be republicans and some of the more conservative republicans look beyond their own core beliefs. A lot of democrats dont realize that. Is not nearly as threatening as the Freedom Caucus. Everyone is expected at some point there has to be some level of compromise. There is a lot i like about this bill. I would love this bill. Number one you can still use the term. Premiums well only get higher. When there are a lot of vulnerable democrats in that senate. They should be popping up right now. You dont think this now belongs to the Republican Party . If the democrats supported they look like the obstructionists in lose that from 2016. A second more about it. With some big news on it. Again not everybody on the same page. Lets take a look at what rand paul has to say. And then from 50 to 28. The debt when it also. When he was part of the equation. If revenue is declining cut spending. This is a way that some really smart people looked at this. It may actually cost the government as much as 7 trillion. A 4. 6 last year. We had 3. 5 . 4. 2 percent. We know supply side economics work. That is a hard question. I wouldnt even touch this healthcare thing. Every ounce of everything that the republicans have should be with President Trump on this tax reform you just nailed it. The only way to get that kind of growth is to go big and trump made a great first step. They have to focus on this. And push this tax cut stuff hard. Thirty republicans in these big blue states including california or maybe no longer allowed to te off those. Theres about 30 of them. Theyre probably get them loose. If they cant write off the state taxes they are in trouble. I really hope that we can learn one thing. You cant keep selling people this idea that the government can come in and increase their taxes anytime they want. And then when we try to do crease that everybody goes into a panic. The air calling some sort of horrible thing we are doing to our country. Are there limitations. When i was a kid evil knievel could do no wrong. Are there limitations. We will never get there. It would be your dream and mine. If we could ever actually get to a point where we need to have that conversation. Lets get there and then lets head that conversation. When i think it is more critical is that it seems like the white house is now quarterbacking a lot of the step. Theyre not letting paul ryan get involved in some of the other folks. Theyre taking control which gives me confidence. Something will happen sooner rather than later. Trump gets tax cuts. He gets jobs. Again i still believe this should be the focus if they try to push another Health Care Bill it will destroy the republicans politically. They have to leave that alone. I definitely think that Going Forward they need to focus on a tax bill i believe this has to be the priority. I think that is the magic one that we are all looking for. Thank you very much. Appreciated. They unveil that long awaited tax fund. It was eerily quiet. Do you think its the enthusiasm. Will discuss it next. At fidelity, trades are now just 4. 95. The president is going to see seize this opportunity by leading the most effective tax reform since 1986. We will double the standard deduction. We are going to repeal the alternative minimum tax. We are going to eliminate most of the tax breaks that are mainly benefits to high income individuals. We will lower it to 15 . We believe we get back to 15 or higher gdp that is sustainable in this country. That is the top economic members of his team. They have laid out the extensive tax plan. The largest tax reform. Since Ronald Reagans administration. And yet i have to tell you there seems to be a lack of enthusiasm from wall street to washington. Tim, you actually were at the white house and met with members of the economic team. I think the plan that originally came out. That included the border adjustment tax. Go down that whole that we discussed. It does not include the border adjustment tax. It takes the corporate rate to 15. From seven brackets jt three. Is a good plan in a very good plan. See mac. What do you think the misgivings are is it that it might be too bold in other words 15 from 35 youve have some really conservative think tank that could cost the federal government anywhere from three to 7 trillion and how do you make that up. I think theres a little bit of skepticism out there. Whether they can Work Together to get something done in the state. It took over 300 days for president reagan at the height of his power having been reelected to get tax reform done. I do think there is a bit of skepticism but this is a big bold plan. And frankly they need to get it done. They need something to get this economy going again. As you know the way to get from out from under the deficit. We are going to find out if republicans can do that this year. And generally rein in. The healthcare bill Health Care Bill that would actually begin the process of reforming medicaid that will save them big money. We have talked about that before. And the third element is getting the economy going beyond 3 . In this kind of tax got laid out by the Trump Administration can do that. You and i know. We had been on occasion disagreed with his administration but on the plan they put forward yesterday we are genuinely excited about it. I am excited also. I love the way of their speaking about it. They are not being hyperbolic about it. They are understanding peoples concerns and i think the key is get a b the dynamic scoring replacing thetatic scoring. Tim, thanks a lot i really appreciate it. President trump wrote the art of the deal and now he said he wants to make one a classic new one to nafta. We are going to discuss that next. President trump called nafta a disaster. More than once he still well not rule out terminating it altogether. Take a watch. We will renegotiate. If im unable to make a fair deal i will terminate nafta. But we will give it a real strong shot. President trump started thek. He called it on tuesday and wednesday. They dont want to see nafta unwound. Where do you think this goes from here. There at the table arent they. I was there and i was actually there monday. He said look, canada has really taken advantage of it. With the change that. And was very strong on monday. He would like to pull out completely from nafta and is what got the attention of both mexico and canada. They said wait a second lets talk about this. I do think if you have any beliefs about President Trumps ability to overplay his hands this is a clear evidence that its happening. This is the art of the deal he definitely brought people to the table. This is a key campaign promise. But what i thought was interesting is apparently Peter Navarro is the one who broke up the draft. It feels like maybe the, heads got them. They still have both times finding this. What he ink the instincts are i think youd rather just rip this thing up and start from scratch. If he can in the end to get get a deal that look so different nafta needs to be modernized anyway. It exists as a huge commerce engine. Look at tpt. Every time they talked about multilateral trade deals theyve come down from the deals. If you can negotiate the specifics that gives the United States an advantage. Trade is the one issue that has been consistent on for 30 years. Trade, not so much. Is it realistic to say we can have a reciprocal trade deal in other words mexico will import from us as we import from them. Even though they are a poor country. We have a massive trade deficit with mexico right now that needs to be rectified especially that. It looks like the white house is very resistant. Under so everybody knows. Almost 6 billion in trade deficit. We really appreciate it. Texas taking a very hard line against century cities. That states attorney general joins us right after the break. Charles the republicancontrolled texas house gave potential approval to a ban on socalled sanctuary cities, including a tough jail penalty. And withholding funding from county and local governments that are acting as sanctuary cities. Joining me now. Ken paxson. Thank you. Charles you in it could have taken a in it coul particular, have taken a strong stance on this. Is there a reason beside law and order . I think it is because weve been dealing with this for so many years along the texas border with very little help from the federal government. Then in our own state, sheriff in austin said she releases prisoners that are illegal, she is not going to cooperate with the federal government. It creates an en fra enrique hernandeknow for stopping that. They could suffer being removed from office, and it could a misdemeanor, that was in the Senate Version first. In the house version yesterday, it was an amendment that passed overwhelmingly. Charles a county can elect the sheriff and state with remove that sheriff. Yes through Law Enforcement. Probably a District Attorney from the county that could do it. Charles amazing. Do you still expect some defiance. I suspect some of these folks they talk a pretty good game, and rattling their sabres, they are sticking to their conviction. I would not be surprised if there was a little less defiance. You talk about potential criminal penalty. I live in Travis County, what is benefit to me of as a Travis County citizen who has a sheriff who will not turnover criminals. Charles here is the thing. We were talking during the break, one of the other issues, a lot of people wonder, because illegals, a lot would not be here if they could not get eyed. One who is aiding and abetting them, tho are the american businesses who are not hiring americans, you say there is nothing your office could do about that part of this equation. Any criminal penalties we deal with in my office, as it relates to business there is no legislation proposed to deal with that issue. Charles amazing, there a poll. Majority of sanctuary cities, building a wall against the border, 61 in your state oppose the idea of building a wall. It is an interesting poll, i dont know what the metrics are. It is a place it could have been dinnertime with a democratic family in austin. I have no idea, but donald trump ran on that issue. Texans voted forever him, i think based large leo somly, on some of his immigration policies, i would say anecdot al, i would argue that people want something done. We in texas want something done. Charles you brought up President Trump, how is he doing . Has he had a positive impact on the illegal immigration issue . Tremendous, looking at numbers they talk about illegal immigration down 40 in march, maybe lowest numbers weve had. Whole attitude has changed. I have talked to Border Agents who are leaders on the borders, they are excited they have a president tha is allowing them to do their jobs, they felt like they have been held back for 8 years. For us, it is exciting to have a president who is doing something about that. Charles paxson thank you. Thank you. Charles talk about this, President Trump d sanctuary cities with the wall. With our panel joe walsh and danine borely. We dont have enough, ken paxsons to make a difference, how can we stop these cities from harboring criminal illegals. We need to continue to put pressure on these mayors that are running these cities. Where is the sanctuary and safety for law abiding citizens who have been murdered or attacked by the illegal criminal aliens . This is a first duty of government to protect person, protect property. When it comes to sanctuary cities, they are not on the side of law abiding americans, they are on the other side of the spectrum. The pressure needs to be applied to the governors who are running these cities. Charles joe, idea of perhaps removing, Law Enforcement officials, i think that will come down to that and been suggests of jailing legislators and mayors who are defying federal law. Yes, that is part of the texas law. You and i know, my friend, more so than repealing obamacare, more than cutting my taxes and your taxes, this issue got trump elected. People in this country illegally, it is not right it is not fair it is expensive it dangerous. And i give the president s lot of credit, because he is not backing down. And texas i give texas a lot of credit, that law, they ought to focus as you said, on the mayors, on the elected officials who are tying the hands in most cases of local Law Enforcement. These guys got to be thrown into jail, again, the federal funding needs to be taken away. Charles danine, tomorrow attorney general Jeff Sessions will be in long island, we know that ms 13 hasse terrified a large swath of that place. Will it take ground to ground business from administration to hammer home the idea this has gotten out of hand. It has totally gotten out of hand, i was reading the stories with the recent ms13 gangs on long island. This is not far from where i live, they could pop up anywhere. Something needs to be done, they targeted young individuals, high school students, that were murdered at the ands of these people, something does need to be done. Those on the left who think they are doing a good thing for american citizens by promotin
