Corpus christi is getting hurricane conditions but they will be spared the worst of the storm liz because if it had gone in just to the south of that it would have driven all that water into the bay and back into the city and instead it goes east of them so the wind will turn to the northwest there. Its going also into an area which is relatively sparsely populated and for good reason. If any of you know anything about texas weather war, there was a town called indianola, one of the biggest ports on the gulf coast and it was hit twice by major hurricanes in the 1800s so they said well lets just move this port up to houston and galveston and thats the story behind houston and galveston, indianola getting hit by hurricanes like that. The moral of the story is this is a disastrous storm but right now, the first leg of the storm is missing the heavilypopulated area of Corpus Christi im talking about the worse case there. The problem we have next week is coming back out over the water monday and then we have to see if it intensifies coming northeast to galveston and houston. It is a prolonged siege with amazing amounts of rain as you brought up and in the houston area, rainfall amounts could approach what happened in allison and of course those of you in the houston area know how bad it got during allison.
