I will talk with alice and tell Committee Member peter king coming up. Along with the former us attorney bud is here. Also the president began the push for tax reform and repeal of obamacare for what role his cutter playing and supporting terrorists behind the attacks this morning in london. One of the richest men in the world this morning tells us why the president s touched on an oilrich country could help defeat isis. Were looking ahead right now on sunday morning futures. Another blockbuster hearing and the works of sarni general Jeff Sessions is set to appear between the Funds Committee this tuesday. Under oath to answer questions about russian meddling in a 2016 election. His father coming on has a testimony of the former fbi director james comey last week. Peter king is on the house intelligence committee. And we have a former us attorney in the Eastern District of arkansas with us. He worked with james comey and his partner with avenue strategies. Good to have you both on the program thank you for joining us. Good to see you. Congressman let me take it up with you. You being on the house and tell committee do you want to see those memos from james comey, the ones that he wrote about the president . What are you looking for . I think is very important for us to see what they thought was and then also to look at those memos and try to figure why he prepared memos. I mean certainly readily seen for more inclusive into the campaign for the hillary investigation then President Trump did so i like to see what he has also why after january 6 meeting he decided to do a memo. He showed, he asked for the private meeting with at the time with the president elect trump. And then james comey felt to go back in and memorialize what went on at the meeting. I dont know why he would distrust the president at that point. If i was the president elect i would wonder why. And i say this is someone that has always had a Good Relationship with james comey. Having said that i was disturbed by his testimony the other day. I think one of the main headlines that came out of the testimony last week was the fact that james comey was a leaker. He leaked data, property of the fbi to the New York Times via the professor. I was number one. Then he is number two making headlines that came out of the hearing that Loretta Lynch tried to obstruct the Hillary Clinton investigation directing james comey to call it a matter pure noninvestigation. What was that about . Obviously she wanted to downplay it for you know really they were the same talking points as a Hillary Clinton campaign was using. So that was to me a direct attempt to inject politics into what was a criminal investigation. Remember, Hillary Clinton was being invested at that Center Donald Trump has never been investigated. And i would like to know what evidence was leaked out of the last several months could probably 90 percent of the country thought that donald trump was being investigation when in fact he was never under investigation. And that is what i saw most frustrating. We knew that donald trump was never the target of the investigation and did nobody on either side trying to clear that up. You let this whole impression develop and somehow donald trump was being investigated. The memo would be interesting to see what that was. Just the opposite they in fact wanted that narrative to go and actually pushed it forward. But you know james comey for a long time. I want to get back to what we are going to hear from Jeff Sessions but walk us through your most important points. Like congressman pete king i have for a long time like james comey. Im also a supportive President Trump. I just have not heard the testimony and thought about it. I think that james comey overplayed his hand here. He has raised more questions that he has answered. If you go back to his situation with the redolent you have to remember the dynamics. The attorney general is in charge of the department of justice for the fbi director works with the attorney general. The attorney general is their job to determine if there is improper political influence and to deal with that. When he determined that he did not like the liver avalanche was manipulating the Hillary Clinton investigation he took the role of the attorney general on himself. When really his probably what he should have done. We need to look at what he should have done and i was go to her and probably offered to resign if she would not change her ways. Similarly instead of going to boss if he was uncomfortable or queasy, he decided to be the attorney general again and write memos good why did he show this to his boss . Or write those numbers to his boss and say i am uncomfortable so attorney general sessions could know what was going on and if he thought there was action needed to be taken and to take appear for some reason he has decided that he can judge who his boss is and whether to let them do their job. Clear issues he should never have tried to fix his buses obstructionism. And that is what it is. Because of his background and his reputation that he felt like he could fix all of this. And i think it was a major mistake to do that and his credibility was really in jeopardy. Before he was fired, the democrats who were accusing him of committing crimes using words like appalling and calling for his you know he lost credibility there. Now he obviously i think in retrospect me see why the president was so frustrated trying to determine what was james comeys agenda there . What happens next congressman pete king . In terms of your committee and intel. Are you looking into the way james comey behaved at the testimony . Did he break the law leaking information to the New York Times . Certainly it has to be looked into by our committee or the judiciary committee. As to whether or not the law was broken. Even if it was not, im not sure exactly how the guidelines put it. It is really the director of the fbi before to leaked that to know times man up. Say this is what i am saying happen. Do not hide behind someone else and leak it out it somehow creates the impression what was he doing when he was director of the fbi . Was this the first time he leaked something . It seems like this is something he knew how to do. When things were coming up january, february about the president. Are you surprised that Jeff Sessions wanted to testify . If im Jeff Sessions i am asking the same questions every hearing james comeys testimony. I want to say, why didnt i know what was in those memos at the time that you are writing them . I am your boss. I think he is probably going to come raise those questions and explain that he was not able to do his job as attorney general because james comey was not for whatever reason reporting to him. Thats a good point. Congressman king, what you think about that . What do you expect on tuesday . I have a Great Respect for Jeff Sessions. To me he is one of the most decent guys you ever met. The fact that he wanted to get out so quickly and announcement happen publicly i think that is significant. Again, i think you have media and democrats running wild, right away based on james comey almost ready to indent Jeff Sessions. Hes a guy that has a record of High Integrity throughout his career. He is totally open. I think he will laid out and say that he was doing his job and wishes that james comey had done his job. The way he should have. If he served go ahead please go ahead. If james comey was so about what the president said about general thing he should write to the attorney general sessions or hazards in the present, this is inappropriate. Thats why i think this is all hymns and somehow he thought he was being intimidated or pressured or in any way frightened. Again, if you were he could have stood up and said something at the time. That was his boss. He was at the time if you really thought there was a problem he shouldve gone to the bosses attorney general, the president is calling the enemies man comes in. You and i should take this call together. And lets deal with this and tell the president if we think he is crossing lines. But he said he is ready memos to be kept for what . And where was the memo of Loretta Lynch telling him to call it a matter . Instead of an investigation. Right there that is obstruction and he never wrote a memo. I think that is why james comey was fired. Because he told the president three times in five occasions that he was not under investigation he failed to do so publicly. He allowed that narrative to take place where there was some conversation and collusion going on between the chum campaign and the russians. That in and of itself is obstructionism. Like a set i think we can see now and appreciate more why the president was so frustrated with this guy. He was trying to communicate with him. He was trying to open dialogue, trying to figure out what his agenda was. Sometimes james comey thought he was just out there. They need it is under the department justice. Its clear he wasnt really answering to anybody. Before you go congressman pete king come what you want in terms of the memos from james comey . What are you hoping to uncover . First of all, find out why he did it and also to see whether or not he had memos with Loretta Lynch. If not how does he explain such detailed memos about President Trump when actually it was one 28 word conversation we were talking about in the other hand with Loretta Lynch interfering with an investigation of Hillary Clinton. Why does he have any difference there . And also all memos he did from the president and look at them from beginning to end. It is pretty extraordinary how politicized the agency has become. Yes and i think james comey has never run for office but he has stepped into the political arena. I do not know he saw the warning signs when he did it. I think he really hurt himself when he leaked this memo. I think there was probably a reaction. The president hits hard. And jim, he hit him hard. I think he reacted poorly to that. And i bet he regrets leaking them out. I think it really discredits him. Thank you very much. Congressman always a pleasure. Thank you gentlemen. The white house and republicans in congress are looking to make a new pusher President Trumps agenda. Some lawmakers now think they found a solution to help speed along tax reform and a healthcare overhaul at the same time. As mark meadows says his colleagues are now in talks with the white house to combine the two bills and do it by september. Listen. The quicker we can get these tax reforms in place, mr. They are retroactive, the better the economy goes quicker. Then whether we combine them or not by the end of july, at least we need to be prepared to do that and make sure that at the latest were looking at september. There is real discussion going on right now with that. Not much in the senate but certainly with the administration and others that are talking about it on capitol hill. That was mark meadows on fox last week. The House Majority joins me now. It is good to see you congressman. Good to be with you marie. You think that is a viable plan combining healthcare and tax reform bills . Trying to make a one piece of legislation and get out there by september . Obviously want to do this as quickly as possible because we know cutting taxes is going to inject some momentum into the economy. Create jobs. We also have the healthcare bill moving through the senate and i know they are trying to get the tax finalizes they can get a july 4th vote. I think both are important to do as soon as we can. The process is important but the policy is one point because right now we are working on getting an agreement on best way to get these tax cuts put in place just like we did with healthcare. Putting a coalition together is a delicate balance but we did it in the house on healthcare. Were working on that now with tax cuts to cut taxes and simple by the code. To be clear, will you accept what the senate brings about on the healthcare bill . Are you done or are you going to have more transits will you accept with the Senate Delivers . We want to see what the senate does. We sent over to the senate a bill that lowers premiums and puts family back in charge of the healthcare. It protects people with preexisting conditions and defines planned parenthood. I think we will look at all those things. If the senate can find a better way to do that it is great. That is what they are working on. Those are the things we wanted to achieve in the house and we did in our bill. Are you looking seriously at combining the two bills to create a legislation that will lower premiums in healthcare, reform obamacare, turn it around and also have tax cuts and tax reform on the table . I think the senate is a lot closer to a consensus on healthcare than tax cuts right now. Ultimately, we need to do both as soon as possible. I agree with congressman meadows that having tax cuts in place and having them apply to the current year. In other words retroactive is really important to creating jobs and boosting economy. We are working on all of those in conversations with the president and the white house staff. You probably have had the most success in terms of deregulation. Rolling back regulations that have already helped the business sector loosen up money and they are doing so and responding by investing in their businesses and hiring new workers. Lets talk about that passage of the financial choice act. Why was that so important in terms of rolling back some of the burdens that were Holding Business back from hiring new workers . Obviously you know this. Dodd frank has crushed our local community banks. It has made it harder and more expensive for firsttime homebuyers to get bones. For Small Businesses to get a loan. It has affected free checking it is less common now because it is the unworkable burdens of dodd frank. Again that was all positioned us on going after the big banks. And frank had developed and it crushed our community banks. They did a great job of putting together a bill that returns powermax local communities and gets the weight and burdens of all of these regulations off of families so they can go out and create the American Dream again. Buying a home, create a small business. It was a great bill we had a strong vote. That is the kind of thing we have been doing. Passing bills to get some of these unworkable regulations off of the backs of people so we can get the economy moving again. We are already seeing positive results. Yes, congratulations on what you have done. But you have to admit, the American People are just outraged by the calendar in terms of congress. What you have, 38 days left for last . Terms of actually working. How is it possible that you have the entire month of august off. Is it possible that if you dont get tax reform that you will forgo your recess and working so you get this done . I have always been someone is as you get the work done while you are there. There are deadlines for reason. It forces people to come to the table. We have no working on healthcare and tax cuts for months now. Ultimately needed allies to force the folks that are still not there yet. To focus and get the job done. We have to get it done. We have to pass healthcare reform and weve got to cut taxes. And simple phenytoin. Imagine if you can actually do your tax returns on a postcard. Over 90 percent of americans will get that with our bill. And you cut tax rates for everybody and repeal quest if you dont will you not take vacation . We are going to stay in and get it done maria. That is a thing. Break through your allergies. Just a part of the 16 state coalition. Urging the justices to reinstate the president s executive order. The attorney general of the Lone Star State taking the lead role in this effort he joins me right now live from dallas. Thank you for joining us sir. Good to be back thank you maria. The states are pushing back and pushing against Donald Trumps everything. How will you be successful here . About the law . We think we are actually right in the law, the federal law clearly gives the President Authority to do this. His travel ban is right in line with the statute. So we are confident that the court actually follows federal law, the president will be just fine. Because you know is incredible is that this success of the presence has had already on this issue and have immigration and deportation. The number of people trying to come to america when i was way down. Already we have seen an impact from this president talking points. Without even executive order. I can tell you as a texan we deal with this issue every day. Weve been dealing with it for years. We begged for help from the government and this president has more impact on illegal immigration in the last four or five months in any president ive ever seen. Tells what it is like at the border. There you are in texas really seeing things firsthand. Can you give us a sense of what is going on at the border in terms of understanding who is coming in and who is going out . And the vetting process . Our Public Safety officials through statistics, they do statistics on the border and has been a significant problem. We have over 500,000 crimes over the last five years from sexual assault, drugs and whats great about this policy and plans for the future is starting to cut down on the crimes. Also significantly impacting illegal immigration in texas. This filing, the grief that you filed in texas with the Supreme Court give us the background in terms of why you believe that you want to support the travel ban and you urging the justices to reinstate the travel ban . We have been frustrated with this issue for years. We asked the Obama Administration to deal with the vetting process. Had refugees from terrorist like countries come into our state. Weve know nothing about them. We actually filed a lawsuit about this and we were told that the federal government has control over the issue. Now that someone is actually doing something about it, the president now settled there is a limitation on who has the ability to do that. When you said you have these people coming into your state and we knew nothing about them. Explain that. What do you mean you know nothing about them . Do not know who is coming in and out of texas . We have these syrian Refugee Program. We knew nothing about them, there was no bedding that we were told about. We were asking for information, the governor actually pulled out of the Refugee Program and these people were still coming but we did not want to be complacent and participating in a program where we knew nothing about people coming from a terrorist country and that is why we pulled out. What youre saying is extraordinaire. That you know nothing about, you tried to pull out of the Refugee Program but they were flooding in any way. Who is in charge . Federal government is in charge. And these private organizations help them resettle. Texas participated for a long time but when we realize we had no control over knowing who these people were, the risk associated with it, the government did not feel like in good conscience he could support the programs. We pulled us that we would not be complacent in helping potential terrorists come to the state. Is an incredible that this travel ban was supposed be only 90 days but had they just gone with it for the 90 days it would be over. And we would be moving forward. And beyond this at this point. How do you think this plays out . A timeline as far as getting the justices attention on this. Im pretty sure they will hear it. Usually when the Justice Department asked for this you will get the hearing. It was amazing in this case is that there been 44 travel bans since jimmy carter. And these are the first to to be stopped or challenged. It is incredible. Thank you for joining us ken paxton. Thank you. Lets look at the middle east. Cracking down on cutter. One of the richest men in the world was telling us where the president stands on the oilrich country and how it can help stop isis dead in its tracks. Were looking ahead on sunday morning futures. Our hearts racing as one. I know this is sudden, but they say. If you love something set it free. See you around, giulia welcome back. Changes in uk. Back in april the british Prime Minister theresa may rolled the dice and called for a snap election. In hopes of earning a greater majority in parliament which would have eased the upcoming bread as it talks. On thursday the move turned out to be miss calculation apart as they lost the majority in her party. Now her job to be in jeopardy. We have the host of the next revolution on fox news and a director of strategies for former british Prime Minister david cameron. Good to see. Welcome. Hi maria, great to be with you. I want to congratulate you on your next show. We look forward to seeing you tonight. It would be better if you can join us. I would love that thank you for the invitation will set that up. What is your take on what took place in britain last week . It was a complete disaster for theresa may personally. She called this to try and show that she was the one could offer strong and stable leadership in her voice. She expected to get a landslide victory against someone who everyone dismissed as unelectable. It is a massive personal defeat for her. And to her party but really important things that if potential that at risk. They do devote the british people took the big decision last year to leave the european union. That is now at risk because our position as leader of the party is vulnerable. There are people her part of the actually want to get rid of her. And even if she stays, they want to soft and her negotiating position. And called for people in the uk described as soft brexit. That means the uk would lose, it was still not have control over its borders. And also that european law would still be superior to british law. So basically, it would actually contradict and undermine the brexit vote so this is a mess. As i want to get an input on how it impacts the us. Because that is important. But first, let me talk about terror for a moment. The uk has seen three terrorist attacks in just three months. Obviously, the world is worried and the uk is now and i, the crosshairs. I spoke with the third richest guy in egypt. He has been talking about the qatar, is the state of cutter being complicit . This is what he is telling his colleagues in business in terms of getting their money out of cutter to request i am not just urging them to take the money i am urging them not to be with cutter. Because we are all watching every day. And a lunatic that for a savage person that kills innocent people or in my own country they talk about children and shot men in the eyes of the women. Everything we hear all of these incidents. Nobody is doing anything against it. We need to come to the bottom of that. You have one country that is supporting terror and other organizations. They are siding with iran openly that all intelligence have showing materials of their supporting all the terrorists from libya and syria and everywhere. No one is doing anything because they are the richest country in the world. Because of the Oil Situation and all of that. So that is just what happened last week is a wakeup call for them. All of them woke up now and they say enough is enough. You need to stop doing that because if you play with the fire it will eat you up. So as a businessman i also want to do my contribution. We cannot just stay like that and watch them continue watching that. Going down in manchester and london. Nobodys doing anything to stop this. You do equate what went on with isis, you basics chance if he basically said that obama was leadership allowed them to flourish. They really rolled out the red carpet for President Trump when he was there to be slow. You think it was more testaments donald trump or a testament to they are happy for change away from the president obama . I think it is both great in the past i would excuse behind not going after terrorists, they were in afghanistan. We didnt know where they are so we cannot go after them. Now we know where they are. They are in syria, libya, we know where they are. And what do we do . Nothing. We are too chicken to go down and get it done and is a big mistake because theyre coming to your doors. There knocking at your door is now. Now we know where they are and we dont do anything. I think the arab world is frustrated. Because also during the Obama Administration they supported the Muslim Brotherhood as best and we believe even in egypt after the revolution to make sure the Muslim Brotherhoods tom to rule. So people are frustrated in a position because we believe in the fact that in the muslim world the organization with all of the people behind them. They come and they you think president obama sided with the Muslim Brotherhood before he said with the egyptian leadership. And egypt was and is one of our key allies. Yes. And not only with leadership but with the libyan forces. You can claim that the election in egypt where the muslim have been there for 1800 years and lived underground and were prepared for this. And us supported them. They became not abiding by the democratic rules. That brought them to power. That was Naguib Sawiris from egypt. I am with steve hilton this morning. What he says in part because that was one of the big issues. But the middle eastern country, our allies were upset with president obama about because he blew up egypts leadership when the egyptians really needed us. Lets thats exactly right. It was so great that you got that interview maria. And to set the position out so clearly is incredibly important for us to understand and that is what has been going on for so long with qatar and others in the area who on one hand say that there are allies and with military bases there and so on and we have intelligence time they have been funding terrorism. They have been funding isis and islamist ideology. What you saw from the president on his visit the other week and incredible speech that he made to seven and of those arab leaders is that it is time to have a united front against this islamist ideology. That is what youre seeing happen now with saudi arabia. And isolating the target is a very important development. Lets not forget that the us has made middle eastern military base in qatar. So you know it in the us as well reviewed military base in qatar. Give me your implications in terms of the united states. We started the second talking about theresa may and now the pressure she is under. What are the implications with the us there and do see implications from the qatar story on the us as well . Processing stories to clear with qatar and that is good news. And if President Trump is really showing leadership around the world and they are responding. That is great for our security here in america. Because it is clear now that the fight against terrorism is not going to be a sort of passive leading. We are really taking to them and that is good news. In terms of the uk, it could be really worried because it is not possible that the outcome of the very election is that Jeremy Corbyn the labor leader basically, the Bernie Sanders of the uk but actually at a bit less charismatic but a great campaign. He could become somehow the leader of a government. You cannot visit together a majority in chronic what he just said he is going to try and vote down the legislative agenda that theresa may puts forward in a couple of weeks. Who knows what can happen. It is a really messy situation. If you end up with someone other than a conservative leading the government in the uk, particularly Jeremy Corbyn his antiamerican peer has been his whole career. His ability changed in the relationship between the two countries. So i think everyone hoping that hope the weather assume a certain manner or another candidate like johnson, even though we do not have a majority end up with a conservative led government in britain. Is a great point. Everyone is calling him Bernie Sanders times 10. Jeremy corbyn that is. It is good to see you steve hilton. We will see you tonight on your show here on the Fox News Channel 9 00 p. M. Eastern. Great to see you sir. Thank you maria. See you soon. Thank you very joined steve hilton tonight 9 00 p. M. On Fox News Channel. A bombshell from the james comey testimony. Loretta lynch telling him to call the clinton email probes a matter, not an investigation can why that sparked outrage in can why that sparked outrage in the Mainstream Media you totanobodys hurt, new car. But there will still be pain. It comes when your Insurance Company says theyll only pay threequarters of what it takes to replace it. What are you supposed to do . Drive threequarters of a car . Now if you had Liberty Mutual new car replacement™, youd get your whole car back. I guess they dont want you driving around on three wheels. Smart. With Liberty Mutual new car replacement™, well replace the full value of your car. Liberty stands with you™. Liberty mutual insurance. Welcome back. It is a bombshell that barely anybody in the Mainstream Media is talking about. Once again james comey revealing how former attorney general Loretta Lynch asked him to refer to the Hillary Clinton email investigation as quote a matter. We have he said that it made him queasy, because his boss was telling him that just call it a matter not an investigation. And he goes on to call it a matter. This is an awkward situation for the fbi director. Highly sensitive investigation someone running for the president of the united states. This is my problem. He never really stepped up to the plate. He felt the attorney general was telling him Say Something based on political talking point you can resign, he can go blow things up and say a special counsel should be employed to investigate this matter because the attorney general is conflicted and has a political agenda. He never did that. If this was the other side. There were a republican who told james comey, call it a matter is that an investigation will be all over the Mainstream Media. And yet, it is just as convenient as talking about this. On abc, cbs, cnn, New York Times, washington post. I think part of the reason is that it didnt actually work. If Hillary Clinton became president. But if clinton had won and then they are telling him to use a term that wasnt to please bit it would get more play but this is a major revelation it is important for context to remember that in the month after that happened it is interesting to realize she did not have as much influence over james comey as she walked into the support was october 27. The day before james comey announced he would reopen the investigation. We know that tmj had caused not want him to make that investigation for the announcement. But Loretta Lynch herself was concerned about it. But according to the post she actually did not tell james comey to stay quiet because she thought he would define her. And of course he did. Well he did follow her orders to a tea and called it a matter is that of an investigation people give me about the story rich is that for the last five months Mainstream Media has been going with this narrative that the Trump Campaign had all of these conversations with the russians. Meanwhile it was also fake news. And james comey allow the narrow tent to report did not get involved in it. When told that all of this potential obstructionism by the Trump Campaign when in fact company obstructionism was from Loretta Lynch. Right. Overseeing really is a notsosubtle shift. Away from the russia story to the obstruction story. And when donald trump wrote the letter firing james comey every Political Insider scoffed at the idea that the fbi director actually told him three times he was not under investigation. There were news reports written about how james comey would never say such a thing. And it turns out he did really tell him that. I think we drove trump crazy was not that Paul Manifort or stone might be investigated for shady dems with russia. It was that his name was dragged through the mud. He know he was actually being under investigation and james comey would not clear the record. I think thats why he fired him. And by the way trump would be better served to be upfront about that from the beginning. Thats registered also. I think thats why he was fired because he loves narrative to continue without ever saying no, trump is not under investigation. Even though he told the president that three times. The Mainstream Media has also been conflicted. Have reported this in the daily news . I believe so. We have reported extensively on the way he related to both the Trump Administration now and his relationships with lynch. Defined a study he basically said i boss wanted me to obstruct the Hillary Clinton investigation . Have reported that . I dont remember for a fact but it has been part of the context. Have you reported it . We have here but i can vouch for kathy. She follows the facts readily. Lets talk about more. They keep it a very nice to see the commodity. We are going to take a short break. When we come back the president plans to file a complaint against the former director we recently had a heart attack. But we are not victims. We are survivors. We are survivors. We are survivors. And now we take brilinta. For people whove been hospitalized for a heart attack. We take brilinta with a baby aspirin. No more than one hundred milligrams. As it affects how well brilinta works. Now both the right and left were upset with james comey. Exactly. Also folks at the bureau had concerns about going into the firing. Remember less public testimony i believe he gave before he was fired was to the Senate Judiciary committee. He made a statement the fbi actually had to correct. Had to write a twopage letter to the committee saying that what he said about the way that emails were shared and they said that there were so many emails which wasnt true. And they said that there was a mistake like that he wouldve been fired.
