Weve got the intel for you. When you say inferior reports the communist country is getting ready to test a Nuclear Weapon, and it could happen as early as tomorrow. All of this as Vice President mike pence heads to south korea on sunday for the very latest right now on how the white house is responding to isis and to north korea, i want to go straight to blake burman. Hey, blake. Hi, there, trish, and im told by a white house official here that they will be monitoring, the white house will be very closely the situation in north korea this weekend, and that definitely includes, they say, the president of the United States. As for north korea, they are not backing off the possibility top government artificials there for this potential nuclear test underground in that country this weekend. This weekend happens to be the top National Holiday there tomorrow and satellite images appear to show a buildup of activity around a very specific Nuclear Testing site. Now, one top official there in north korea spoke with the Associated Press today and said that it is certainly a possibility that a nuclear test could happen at any point in the newer future. The foreign minister saying telling the Associated Press at a time and a place where the headquarters deems necessary, it will take place. That foreign minister also saying they continue to build up the arsenal in north korea both in quality and quantity and saying they are ready to go to war, trish, if necessary. As for afghanistan, we are learning more information about that mother of all bombs that was dropped yesterday inside afghanistan. We are now hearing that some 36 isis fighters were killed once that bomb was detonated. And as you remember, trish, we talked about this yesterday, i believe, on air. There were some questions as to exactly who might have ordered the mother of all bombs that moab to have been dropped. Well, now were hearing it was the top general, the Top Commander rather in afghanistan. General John Nickelson who gave the sign off on that. So it didnt necessarily rise to the level here at the white house. As you know on the campaign trail, the president promised to give more authority to his commanders, to his generals. It appead that was the case yesterday in afghanistan. Charles blake burman, thank you very much. We have fox news strategic analyst Lieutenant Colonel ralph peters. Good to have you here. Hi, trish. Trish very important time to have you here. My goodness. One story after another. Russia, syria, north korea, afghanistan. First of all, your thoughts on north korea, colonel peters, and what we ought to be doing there. Well, in north korea, its gone so far due to decades of neglect that there is no good outcome. Theyre only less bad outcomes. Trish right . And eventually, it may take military action. I hope not, but i am far less confident than trump is that the chinese will help us. Theyre saying they will help us for years upon years one president after another they help us. Trish he said, look, were willing to do it on our own, if we have to do it on our own. We will do it on our own. I mean, yeah. He would like the chinese to help. But this is a situation, colonel, where my gosh, we have let this country just go and go and go, and were now looking at potentially their ability to really hurt us within the next few years. Isnt it time somebody do something . Well, we certainly need to prepare and god knows. The odds are very good that if we are forced to take military action, it will result in a bloody conflict on the korean peninsula, and we have to be prepared for it. Thats not a reason not to do anything, but we must be thoroughly prepared. So my feeling is one crisis at a time. Whether its a mass destruction or the overarching problems. Whether its nukes, nerve gas, biological weapons. So i would double down on syria right now. Make sure weve driven home the point that, no, you cant use chemical weapons. There are penalties. And meanwhile, give the chinese their last chance to work with north korea while we prepare for all eventualities. Trish you said you would focus on syria right now, let the chinese try to do their thing, hopefully they will. When you look at whats going on in afghanistan, he complained on wanting and being willing and showing the world that he would take out isis. You have 36 isis militants that were taken out as a result of this mother of all bombs here. Is that good . Shall web doing more of it . Shall we expect more of it . Hey, no civilians died in this, which i think is really remarkable. Its a real testament to what can be done when we put our mind to it. Yeah. The fact that no civilians died broke the heart and mind of left because they need dead civilians. President trump clearly did the right thing by delegating this authority to his commanders on the ground. Its a man on the battlefield that have to make the decisions. And i was outraged. Look, trish, you know ive been very critical of President Trump when i thought he deserved it. But when he gets it right, he deserves to be applauded. And over the past 24 hours, all of these leftists saying you wasted that big bomb killing only 36 isis members. How could you use a huge bomb like that on these poor little terrorists. Would they have preferred if we sent Ground Troops into those caves and lost american lives . This was chief. And, by the way, it wasnt it may that bomb collapsed the tunnel system. There could be hundreds of dead isis members buried under that. We dont know that yet. But we do know it was an isis headquarters. It was a logistics base, and theyre using it as a operational base. So the use of that weapon was very i mean, it was wise. It was a smart thing to do to save the american and afghan lives. It also sent a useful san antonio to iran. And finally, were going to be tough trish finally, what . It told the afghans you can have confidencenous again. Trish if you can take out one isis fighter, my goodness if you can save one life as a result, thats a the mission was a success. And Everybody Needs to admit it. Trish all right. We may see more of them then. Colonel peters, thank you so much. Good to have you here. Some democratic lawmakers as you heard, colonel peters just say are out there questioning President Trumps motivate for using the mother of all bombs. Listen to what congresswoman jackie who sits on t Arm Services Committee had to say. They seem to be driven more by what kind of impact its going to have on domestic policy than on a cohesive Foreign Policy. We are escalating in an area that i think we should be deescalating in. Trish really . You get an opportunity to take out 36 isis fighters not one civilian, and you dont take it . Former democratic president ial candidate meanwhile writing an article on foxnews. Com titled the mother of all bombs is actually the mother of all war mongering. And then you get the liberal hollywood director josh fox going on a twitter rant basically saying we ought to be fighting isis with love. Here he is. He tweets atrocity, murder, abomination. When will we learn that only love stops hate and bombings only create more isis . Moab stop trump. Joining me right now senior director of research, jessica, i was saying earlier gee, i wish i could live in that world where you just solve everything with love. You dont need any kind of anything else to back it up. Look, you know, the left, theyre going to take every opportunity they possibly can; right . To go after him. But this is one as colonel peters said where its its not so disputable. You didnt kill any civilians. You took out 36 isis fighters. Weve got to get rid of bashar alassad, by the way, some way, shape, or form, and we did send russia a message with what we did there in syria. Why are they all worked up . Well, for partisan purposes, obviously. Apparently these guys have foreign that a Green Beret Sergeant was killed by these people last weekend in this area. I thought the most poignant tweet on this whole subject was yesterday was from a double amputee in afghanistan. His name is johnny joey jones, and he was in a twitter war with another amputee who was opposed to dropping the moab but this guy johnny jones wrote i lost my legs because my government was afraid to use the tools i had and saw me as expendable. I wish i had this administration. And i thought that summed it up, and he went on and said we begged to use the bombs on the mind field ghost town i lost my legs. But your rhetorically righteous tweeting. I think colonel peters summed it up perfectly. This was the right thing to do. This saved american lives, this saved afghan lives and, you know, i think this will be a major impediment to isis recruiting in that area in the future. Trish but of course, jessica, the left is painting him as a maniac that just wants to send us into world war iii. Yeah. Im not going to today, though. I thought in syria the strike was the right thing and this was as well. No civilians died, 36 isis fighters off the battlefield there and thats all did to the good. I think the most important thing to focus on right now, though, is what the strategy is going to be going forward. I understand that the moab was actually the pents call, not President Trump. But i was still like to hear more about what were going to be doing strategically as we continue in syria and in afghanistan. And trish are you expecting more of these . I would assume so. Im not sure why not. If you are in this instance, isis fighters and no civilians and the blow back is only from the far left, and i would say that about josh fox, the film director who you quoted there. Thats not my kind of democrat. Hes a big bernie person. Trish hes worried about war mongering. And said, look, were doubling down on a area that we shouldnt be doubling down on. Well, there is that. Weve been in afghanistan 16 years now. It would be nice to get a conclusion. Im not sure moabs is what gets us there, there has to be more diplomatic society. Trish its not ease easiest to do when you have isis hanging out in caves there. When you know where isis is operating, and you have the ability to go in and not even be risking i mean, people still risk their lives in all of this but not sending Ground Troops in, and you can take them out, take that opportunity. Theyre in the desert isis in libya. I was thinking about that yesterday when i heard about this. I hope theyre scouting out some locations to hit in libya. I mean, this is what should be done. I just read today, trish, that obama hit used ten times as many drone strikes in his eight years as president than george bush did. But where was jackie spire or this hollywood director . Were they accusing obama of being a war mongerrer . I think josh fox would have been, there are a lot of people that are horrified at the number of drones. Trish we were saying this earlier today. Im not familiar with him and apparently he produced a movie, though, that was decently popular nominated for an award gas land. But anyway, what about the isolationists out there . Howie, a lot of people thought, well, donald trump is not going to get us into any conflict. He doesnt want to be bothered with all of these conflicts around the world. I thought that was ever so slightly misguided because he did make the point, look, when we do get involved and when we need to get involved, we do get involved in a big way, and were going to win. Well, i think theres some consternation among his supporters. I know i certainly feel whats going on in syria. Nobody voted for donald trump wanting more regime change or nation building, you know . If they wanted that, they would have voted for marco rubio or jeb bush and nobody did. And but i think the fact that we havent, you know, escalated in syria, and this was just a bloody nose to let them know what to do. I mean, that sort of reassured a lot of trump supporters, i think. And dropping the moab yesterday, no problem whatsoever with that. Trish yeah, i think the supporters liked that big time. Im going to see you guys in just a little bit. Dont go anywhere. Critics meanwhile blasting the president s decision to drop the mother of all bombs and saying it only killed 36 militants. You heard that. Thats what colonel peters is talking about. This criticism it costs millions and millions of dollars. But, you know, putting the world on notice was one big expensive bomb doesnt that actually cost less money and fewer lives . Were talking about the cost of war and the cost of not going to war. Next. Yes . Please repeat the objective. Thrivent mutual funds. Managed by humans, not robots. Military website reporting that the u. S. Military may have paid 314 million for 20 mother of all bombs. Moabs putting the cost at each one around 60 million. So all right. If we take those numbers at face value youre talking about 16 million to kill 36 isis fighters and obliterate an isis tunnel complex. Seems like a bargain to me. Chair of the Program Business in finance at Kings College and Fox News Contributor are with us. You know, look, weve got a choice here; right . You cannot do Something Like this, and you can allow those isis fighters to continue training and get bigger and stronger, they then come after us. 16million to take out 36. Seems like a deal. Its a great bargain. Its about 445,000 per dead terrorist and imagine if they survived, and they attacked the u. S. Base or god forbid came over here and attacked a u. S. School or shopping center. The same people whining and moaning about the cost of this bomb would turn around and say, oh, donald trump didnt save us. He didnt keep us safe. Shame on him. Theres no way to satisfy these people. Im happy to say our tax dollars, 445,000 to kill these terrorists. That money was spent beautifully. Look, if you cripple isis in afghanistan, and it hurts them in other parts of the world, thats a bonus beyond what youve done with the 36. When youre talking about costbenefit, you cant just look at the cost, you have to look at the benefit. And the benefit here could actually be wider than afghanistan. It could be iran. It could be north korea. We talked about the messagesending power of this bomb. So when you talk about costs, look, you also have to talk about what youre going to get for it. Trish its an excellent point. Theres hidden benefits here and not so hidden. I mean, this really is sending a message to north korea. Its sending a message to china. Its sending a message to vladimir putin, to bashar alassad, it is telling the world, look, were not going to mess around. And i dont know if you can put a cost per say, brian, on that. No. If you look at iran and their nuclear capabilities, this is whats going on. Were showing them we have the will and attack to go after them. Its not war mongering, but its showing them we have the capability to deal with this threat, so you do have some messagesending power. Even if that wasnt the initial intention. And especially backtoback with the attack on syria a week ago. The world can look at this moab and look at the 59 cruise missiles, which landed on that airfield in syria and say this is not the weak, soft accommodating barack obama we have for eight years. Trish is that important . You think about businesses; right . When a new ceo comes into a company, he or she might make some big, sweeping changes that sort of tell everyone. Okay. This is a new kind of management. Is that you think of the United States having to message the world and were back. Hes saying were back in charge. Get used to the world order. Well, people want to jump to the messagesending power of this. But lets actually give the president credit for a tackle move. This is the right weapon in the right place to hit this target. This is a good, tactical move that can be defended on its own ground. Trish it apparently didnt go all the way to him. This is a pentagon decision, the military made this decision. But as a good manager, youve got to empower your people to make the right decision. Yeah. This is a good thing because i think a lot of what created the failure of obama was micromanaging and deciding on one particular list of targets and which particular team is going to go in where and that micromanagement really going to find things up over the last eight years. This is a great break from what we saw even in the persian gulf when the iran an navy came in and literally had our sailors on their knees. This very much sends the counter message which deliberately needed to be delivered. Playing within the rules of engagement and setting a different tone. I think the president and his staff and generals ought to give credit for taking that kind of action here. Trish wow. Its very different. Very, very different indeed. And were not even through the first 100 days. Thank you so much. Good to see you guys. Coming up, everyone, the u. S. Dropping its most powerful nonNuclear Weapon for the very first time on a isis strong hold in a major show of force. So what else does the military have in its arsenal and why is this the first time were using this thing . Weve had it for about ten years. The intel on it next. Before i had the shooting, burning of diabetic nerve pain these feet. Kicked off a lot of high school games. Built a life for my family. And liked to help others in need.
