We begin with a Fox News Alert. Iran launching its first ever direct attack on israel. The jewish state says right now its treating at least 31 people for injuries, including a ten year old girl. And overnight, israel reopening its airspace for the First Time Since the unprecedented attack. However its reported that several foreign airliners canceled their flights to israel. In total, iran launching more than 300 missiles and drones toward the jewish state. But the idf says 99 of the threats were intercepted. Together with our allies and partners, we are operating at a at were operating at full force to defend the state of israel and the people of israel. We will continue to fulfill this mission. Trey yingst joins us from tel aviv with the latest trey. Yeah. Hey, guys. Good morning. Overnight, dozens of ballistic and Cruise Missiles were launched toward israel along with a variety of Attack Drones. The majority of these projectiles were actually shot down outside of israeli territory by American Jets and other israeli jets that were trying to operate before israels air Defense Systems had to engage these targets. Now, hear from tel aviv. We could see israels most advanced air defense system, the arrow system, launching Interceptor Rounds. They soared through the sky and then took down some of these incoming projectiles. In larger cities like jerusalem, more than a Million People heading to Bomb Shelters as sirens blared throughout the city, explosions rocked the sky as these interceptions took place. Now, there were two critical phone calls that also took place last night as the iranian attack was unfolding. We know President Biden spoke over the phone with israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu, and israels defense minister yoav galant spoke with his counterpart, secretary austin. These were calls to get a sense of the situation. The israelis have received a request, reportedly from The Americans, to alert them about what potential response might be following this attack by iran, a truly unprecedented attack that has taken the region into Uncharted Territory. We do expect israels war cabinet to meet later today here in tel aviv to determine what that response might look like, and israels defense minister yoav galant, releasing a statement this morning saying that they have successfully thwarted this attack by iran. This may give the israelis an off ramp to avoid taking this conflict to a broader regional war. But today, the iranians also trying to claim victory and a threat from one of irans top generals, saying this is a shift in policy toward israel. And if the israelis target iranian assets in the region, there will be yet another response. Guys, back to you. Trey, any indication on how this you just mentioned the claims being made by iran this morning . Any indication how this is being played at home while were talking about 99 being shot down in the attack, being fairly neutered, what are they telling their people back home in iran . So in iran, we saw some limited protests overnight in support actually, of the iranian regime. Its tough to distinguish, though, when you see these images. Oftentimes they will use propaganda to make it look like they have more Popular Support than they actually do. Weve also seen over the past several years many protests in the streets of tehran and other major Population Centers. There so the iranians are claiming victory for this attack on israel. It is certainly the largest attack in history when it comes to a direct launch from iranian soil toward israel. And the concern here is that iran will be emboldened to do such a thing in the future. Now, they didnt activate some of their major proxies in the region. There was some limited activity from iran backed iraqi shia militias, also from the houthis in yemen. But hezbollah was largely not involved in the direct attack. Overnight. They launched some rockets of their own, but thats something theyve been doing since october 8th. Remember, israels been at war for more than six months, fighting on the ground inside gaza. Theyve received new threats from yemen and from lebanon. But the real question today is if the israelis do decide to respond, would that draw yet another iranian response . And could this unravel into a broader regional war . The Biden Administration hopes not. Its part of the reason theyre encouraging the israelis to be careful in how they respond. But israel also doesnt want a new precedent to be set in the region. They dont want iran to feel theyre able to attack israel without any sort of consequence. That last part is key. What kind of precedent would would this set . So i guess i want to ask the other side of wills question. Its 1 00 there, tray in whats whats the sentiment or your sense of how the israeli people are feeling about it . I know, i know, its not a monolith. I get that, but is it okay . We did okay on this one. Lets not escalate. Or is it . Hey, we cant live this way. We need to counterstrike like, its a great question and its a little bit of both. There is a growing frustration among the israeli population that this country is facing continued attacks from all across the middle east. You saw the October 7th Massacre and the six month war that followed. More than 9000 rockets were fired from gaza. Since that massacre took place. Also, you have thousands of rockets and mortars and antitank missiles being fired from lebanon. The Lebanese Militant Group hezbollah active each and every day. And now you have a direct threat from iran. So israel is facing multiple fronts, and the israeli people are getting tired of this. But we should note life here in tel aviv, israels second largest city, is basically normal. There are still cafes and restaurants, open cars and busses running in the streets of this major Population Center of more than 300,000 people. And while you could see some of those Interceptor Rounds fired from the distance last night, there was no panic in the streets. There were no people running on banks or on on grocery stores. There was a sense that israel does have the multilayer defense capabilities to shoot down any sort of drones or missiles that are launched toward israel. And thats exactly what happened. And so the country was not panicking. And thats part of why you saw the home front command, israels military wing that is responsible for communicating with civilians, issuing instructions overnight, calling on certain civilians to remain near Bomb Shelters and for people to avoid large gatherings as they canceled educational activities across the country. But there was no panic in the streets, and largely israel was able to shoot down the majority of the projectiles that were launched at it toward iran. You know, today, iran excuse me, today, israel still fighting the war in gaza. Now they have this new front coming directly from iran. And domestically, the Israeli Government has been facing, you know, some some controversy about how theyre handling it, but also internationally. Could these new attacks have an impact on the international or even domestic Public Perception of the war in gaza . Is there any impact . Its a fantastic question. And when we go back just over two weeks ago, before the israelis struck this iranian building in damascus, syria, killing mohammad zahedi, a top iranian general, along with other members of the irgc, we were only talking about the war inside gaza. More than 180 days in. At that point, the focus was the relationship between the Biden Administration and the government of Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu and it was a strained relationship at best. There was a lot of criticism from The Americans about how the israelis were conducting themselves inside gaza with a rising Civilian Casualty Rate and also limited humanitarian assistance, making it to the northern part of gaza. The focus now has really shifted to real broad threats that israel faces. And you saw just over the past week and a half a shift in tone from the Biden Administration. Literally overnight, President Biden went from saying israel is making a mistake inside gaza, and our support toward israel will be conditional to saying israel will be protected by the United States and supported. And thats an indication that The Americans understood how serious the intelligence was when it came to the iranian threat against israel. The intelligence from The Americans and the israelis was spot on in this case. They knew what to prepare for, and the conversations were taking place ahead of this attack. And its part of the reason you saw such a coordinated response and the ability of The Americans, the israelis and their partners in the region to shoot down these incoming missiles and drones last night. Hey, trey, just real one quick historical follow up as were putting this all together this morning, the israeli killing of the top quds commander in syria and in damascus that started all of this. Do we know . Did that catch The Americans by surprise, the American Leadership by surprise . Were we aware of that, or was that a unilateral action by the israelis . So reports indicate it was a unilateral action by the israelis. And i think there was some frustration, according to the sources that we spoke with over the past two weeks, to get a sense of that relationship that The Americans didnt have more of a Heads Up Understanding that there could be such an iranian response. With that, said Mohamed Safadi is or was rather a man who was responsible for the iranian Weapons Shipments to places like syria and lebanon. You saw over the past several years the iranians flying in weapons and components to the Lebanese Militant Group hezbollah, their largest proxy in the region. And this was the man responsible for facilitating those shipments and the relationship between top officials in tehran and the leader of the Lebanese Militant Group, hassan nasrallah. And so israel saw this as a direct threat to their security. Understanding that hezbollah has been involved in the fight since the war erupted between israel and gaza, and also understanding that the real threat was never gaza. The threat was from lebanon. It was from the thousands of precision guided missiles and rockets that the militants in Southern Lebanon have. And thats still today is the biggest threat. And its part of the reason they launched that strike in damascus, syria, to send a message to the iranians that they will not accept weapons being shipped close to their border so that they can be used against israel in a future conflict. All right. Trey yingst, thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Trey well, were joined now by Us Army Brigadier general anthony tata, on fox and friends. Good morning. Glad to have you with us. You know, as you as you listen to this, as pete mentioned, were put were putting this together in some ways it does appear this was a telegraphed, at that by iran, that court really no one by surprise. I think thats reflected in, in, in how ineffective it was, but still its an unprecedented state action. Iran versus israel. So with the concern being that this line has now been crossed and iran can do direct action within israel, how does israel reset the boundaries . General . How do they reset that . This is not an acceptable response. What is the escalation from israel that accomplishes that without provoking an all out war. Hey. Well, good morning and to the rest of the team. Yeah thats thats really the essence of where we are. Right now. I think israel is doing its own Battle Damage assessment to see what really impacted, you know, the reports of 99, in effective or Effective Response from the israel and the us or good reports and the kind of thing that you want to hear. And right now, you know, last night, my understanding is that, their war Council Approved a strong response in principle. And, and today, putting those plans together, what do they do, i think in large part is, you know, where where the rest of this region will go, i know one thing for certain. I would be very judicious if i were netanyahu with sharing any information with the Biden Administration with respect to the plans that i have, we know that dod is compromised by iranian sympathizers, you know, the Chief Of Staff to the Assistant Secretary Of Defense for low intensity, special ops and low intensity conflict, was caught, communicating with the mullahs prior to her, Senate Hearings that she attended and briefed at. And so, you know, asking, seeking guidance from the mullahs. So i think, i think theres real, Operational Security issues here that would put israelis at risk if they do develop a plan that would do some kind of Precision Strike, which theyve done before. Theyve proven they can do it, and they certainly have the equipment to do it. And i dont think that anybody would, have any issue, you know, israel early, with, some kind of Precision Strike in iran to say, you know, we can do this too, if you if you want to play this game. I think theyve got to do something, for sure, general, you know, we heard joe biden say repeatedly, dont. Well, they did, and theres a lot more doing it looks like that may unfold. So what what was that message meant to relay, especially if there was some understanding that attack was coming, whether it would be intercepted or not. Yeah. Theres no vision or theres no unifying vision, pete. For from this administration for how to deal with this situation. Remember with President Trump, we had the Abraham Accords. We were creating peace through economic ties, but you know, this administration came in and started to undo all of that because they thought doing the reverse of what President Trump did was, was, you know, the best path forward to support their, radicals and the Progressive Left. And so theyve done the Biden Administration has done more harm to this region than than any any president in my lifetime, for sure. And so, you know, dont is not a message. Theres no unifying message, the president and this administration would prefer to keep the American People divided, and cater to the Progressive Left. Theyre more concerned about votes in dearborn, michigan, than they are about national security, the one thing they got right was having the navy, pressed up against, you know, the israel in the region there to help with the counter Ballistic Missile defenses that naval forces provide. And, of course, the aircraft that, that we have that are very capable of doing so and so i think i, you know, i give the Administration Credit for that, but, this, this president divides this nation. Hes and he certainly has no, Moral Authority to tell israel what to do, theyre theyre only theyre only focus is on votes in america during an election year. And they are trying to drive Israeli Foreign policy in that direction. Well, general, im also concerned about china, you know, we apparently asked china to help thwart this attack. And obviously it happened. Anyway, i had victoria coats on and she said, china wants us in another engaged in another war because they want to take care of what they want to do in taiwan before joe biden potentially leaves office. How concerned are you about that . Im very concerned. I watch victoria and dana. Peter, my west point classmate, make very good points about all of this. And, and, you know, the russia, china, iran and north korea are all sort of laughing right now at the United States because of the unparalleled weakness that is being projected and this i cant overstate the division of, of america right now. You know, there are Many Americans right now in the Progressive Left that are applauding irans attack on israel. And this the marshaling the will within the United States to have a cohesive Foreign Policy to support our num
