And it looks like going in they were trying to get him to admit that he had broken the logan act which that never happens. That never gets prosecuted or to catch him in a lie because ultimately, they werent really interested in investigating his contact with the russians but, instead, they were looking for a referral to the department of justice. And get that guy out of his job. Thats right. This activity is outrageous. Everybody is saying it. But here is why it is. Its predatory. This is not an fbi group of fbi agents who are informed there may be a library of investigation they need to look into. Instead, they are creating that investigation. And why are they doing it . They see him potentially in the role he was. In they saw him as a threat. Perhaps he would be a threat to what they wanted to accomplish through fisa. Whatever reason they targeted him. And you can see now it is starting to come out that it was target. Brian we know that originally they said they got him to cut a deal. Part of the reason they got to cut a deal, bret. He didnt have a lot of money. He didnt have a huge job. He spent all his life in the military. Just had a book out just to make some money in the civilian world. He takes his job again for not a lot of money. And they start charging you a lot. His legal fees start going up. All right. Let me cut a deal and sort of limit my exposure. They recommended probation. But then when he switched attorneys he said we are now recommending jail time for him. Thought prosecutor is saying we will go back for probation. What do you think does Lieutenant General<\/a> flynn now have some leverage to go for exoneration . Yeah, a couple of things, very important there. People plead guilty when theyre innocent. Why do they do it in the federal system . Because the federal system has whats referred to as the trial penalty. If you take them to trial, you are risking many, many more years in prison. Decades, and they could do it. They could do it in this case. They could create a sentence that he would be facing, you know, decades in federal prison. So enormous pretty much. So he pleads guilty thinking its going to be probation, he will get this behind him only to learn and realize that his lawyers didnt serve him well. There were conflicts of interest. He is now feeling that he is stuck. He hires a new lawyer. And she aims at one thing. One thing alone. She wants to see the underlying documentation that justified what they did. Thats called exculpatory that they found. Usually you find that kind of evidence and it suggests some sort of innocence. Here it suggests innocence and misconduct by the fbi. Its outrageous. Ainsley it really is we are supposed to be able to trust the system. He tweeted out as griff was saying that picture of the American Flag<\/a> has been to say that the truth will set you free, finally justice in all of this. Devin nunes was talking about what flynn should do next. Listen to this. Well, clearly, general flynn is going to have a civil rights case. And i think its going to cost the government millions of dollars. Secondly, hopefully there is going to be some prosecutions for this matter and the judge really has an opportunity here to step in and sanction these lawyers. The House Republicans<\/a> brought you just a snippet of this information back in 2018. We were mocked. We were told it was a joke. Now, all of a sudden realized what we told you at that time not only was it true, we didnt even know the half of it. The evidence is continuing to pile up and general flynns favor. Ainsley thankfully if this is true those handwritten notes were released and found. It could right a wrong here. What do you think will happen to the folks, if this is true, that were involved in that meeting, the handwritten note was from bill priestap and he wrote it all down with question marks. Maybe he was wondering if this was the right thing to do. James comey was in that meeting allegedly and Andrew Mccabe<\/a> the fbi Deputy Director<\/a>. What will happen to them . So. A lot of people are lowing out the phrase obstruction of justice, thats not the only issue for these individuals. If they knew going into it that they were setting this up and creating this crime that wasnt actually there, then they made representations to the grand jury and then they made representations to the court, all of those can have criminal consequences. Keep in mind, the Supreme Court<\/a> in 1971 said that an individual like flynn can go after agents that do this kind of thing knowingly violate someones Constitutional Rights<\/a>. We need help with the here and now, educators, police, fire, e. M. S. The front line stuff. We are bleeding resources. Helping people whether they have lost their jobs. Whether they are sick. Yeah. We had shut golf. We had shut state and county parks. We had done that together. And the curves as yall mentioned have begun slowly but surely. Ainsley, regardless of your political affiliation, even if you even care about voting whatsoever, every american should feel a chill today that federal government officials in high places can come to the white house four days into our presidency and come here to try to set up the National Security<\/a> advisor to the president and the fix was in, imagine if what was written in the margins of these notes should we get him to lie or get him fired. Imagine if anything like that was in the Mueller Investigation<\/a> two years. Imagine in one of our handwriting in the margin is today collusion monday or russian tuesday . When one is it . They pecked around and hunted around at taxpayer funding for years to find absolutely nothing. This man was set up from the beginning. Probably thought they were coming in to be helpful since we had been on the job for four days. The president had made clear for all three years that Michael Flynn<\/a> was treated unfairly now we know it was probably criminal what was done to him. May i just add that the man had a three decade plus career in the United States<\/a> military. And he came here ready to serve his country. Was gone within days. And now we see the fix was in from the Previous Administration<\/a>s people. Steve right. It is jawdropping to many, Kellyanne Conway<\/a>. But heres the thing. While those notes were referring to a meeting they were going to have with mr. Flynn before the president was inaugurated, for the last threeplus years, this has been Donald Trumps<\/a> department of justice. There have been in the department of justice who have known. This they have seen that thing, and, yet, nobody has been held accountable. Right. January 24th ended up being a very important date in all of the flynn interactions. And i think that sally yates came here on that day or talked to certain people here that day. Now we have to go back in time to see what was going on. We were trying to put together a government. We were trying to form a government. We were being told by people in the Previous Administration<\/a> we are here to help you. I was told that i came here for lunch one day during the transition to really have a peaceful transition of power which is what democracies have this i is a disgrace for government officials to abuse their power in this exact way. This is what the people fear about the federal government. I think that general flynn has probably phased millions of dollars in legal fees. Three years of reputational scorn. And isolation. He obviously had to leave his job here. But the president wont make any decision the president will make an announcement like that. He feels clear that people around him were treated very unfairly and in this case worse. Brian so the president had a meeting with a few gosm governors. One republican.
