That religious liberty can still reign in texas. What happened in this case, how has it been resolved. So it was probably last year sometime, early last year, that the San Antonio City Council decided to exclude chickfila, very wellperforming restaurant, one of the Top Performing restaurants in the country from the airport based on their support of organizations like the salvation army. We started our investigation. We asked the faa, actually the department of transportation to investigate and the result was they came back recently with a letter to us and telling us that they were offering, that now san antonio was offering a lease to chickfila. Jedediah attorney general, this decision is enormously important in the way of religious freedom. Talk a little bit about why that is, what message this sends to other states that may be facing similar challenges . Yeah. You bring up a really good point. That is why this was so important. It wasnt just restaurant and one airport in san antonio. If this was allowed to occur, then this could happen all over the country. City councils, other governmental entities just could decide they didnt like your personal views related to your religious faith, to stop you from having your business. That is violation of our First Amendment rights f we stop it now, it allows other restaurants and Business Owners to continue to have their own personal religious views, and not be affected by government telling them that they cant do something. Will attorney general, i understand this was not a court case this involved the faa and City Government in san antonio, if you would, without going too deep, help me understand the constitutional argument, the legal argument, the protections that stepped in, that made the argument for economic fill ato be able to have a chickfila to have retail out let at the airport. The broad view the conestution under the First Amendment allows people free exercise of their religious faith that means Business Owners as well. But also under federal law, under the transportation guidelines you cant discriminate based on religious view as well. Now, i would encourage them to look more into the collateral consequences of someones conviction. As a part of this oped i referenced a recent report that was distributed in june of 2019 by the u. S. Commission on civil rights referencing collateral consequences and where it intersects between punishment, redemption and the impact to the community and i would say, you know, again once someone paid their debt to society, they should be able to transition home and have access to other services once they have completed that sentence. Sheriffs shot in compton, do not block the emergency exits to the hospital. When lives at stake, when ambulances cant get through. This is nextlev stuff now, not only with the horrific ambush thats on video. Remember were in a social media world now, people catch things on their phones, it circulates, and one thing it does create is a awareness of whats going on. Youre right there watching essentially happened. But these are horrific actions. When you think about the hospital, these protesters blocking entrance and exits to hospitals not only compromising the alternate of those officers potentially to get what they need but everybody going in and out of the hospital so now theres just a lack of concern for everyone everywhere . I mean it just really these are dark times were falling on if this is what were looking at not only when it comes to Police Officers and the treatment of them, but in the treatment of just humanity in general and the lack of concern therefore. Will you heard there from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department we must not tolerate such acts of violence. But we are tolerating a climate that leads to those acts of violence. We are tolerating lies. And its illustrated, by the way of those chants outside the hospital, we hope they die. Pete, a lie is being told over and over and over. Its a lie that says black men are being hunted down in the streets of america, that cops are playing open season on africanamericans in this country, and is not true. Racism is always an issue we should seek to overcome, but the fact is that climate built upon lies, told and retold, is metastasizing into violence towards Law Enforcement and on our streets. And we must fight this. It is not our nations character character. The statistics do not reveal that to be true. And it must be fought with the truth, pete. Pete by telling the truth. The other lie that were told time and time again is that the entire country is systematically racist. These Law Enforcement agencies systematically racist. And as a result, these thugs that go out and shoot cops in the street think theyre doing the right thing. If thats your view, that the stem is the enemy, the cops are the enemy, and theyre all complicit in racism, they believe its a good thing when someones shot. The bottom line is, this has to stop. The Justice Department has to go after black lives matter, after ascent and put an end to this. Jedediah yeah, you know, will, you mentioned the importance of telling the truth. And i think that is key. People need to know the origins of these movements. They need to know what theyre supporting. They need to know what those signs stand for that they put in their windows. But we also have to address the violence. Somethings got to be done here aside from just talk, this violence has spun completely out of control with no end in sight and a fear that it could get worse in a lot of these cities. So at this point, what do you do do . Will and the point needs to be made. This is not necessarily about this one singular incident. The motivations of the shooter remains to be seen. Its about a climate overall across this country, illustrated best in the chants outside that hospital. There many, many people who would like to equality advanced in this country and racism stamped out but you have to understand that behind a lot of slogan eager is an organization with a platform, with a history, awith a revolutionary goal and with a tolerance to violent means to accomplish that. You see these fires that were set, you see the looting thats gone on in the cities, massive destruction, violence. I keep saying that because something has to be done to re redirect the conversation, to re redirect the tone, to empower Law Enforcement to do their job, and to just change the tenor that is becoming all too prevalent because its not just a small number of bad actors anymore. This mood is becoming quite pervasive through the community and the fear is that criminals out there or troublemakers out there will continue to pick up on that, and this will become increasingly widespread and problematic for people who live in these regions to just have regular, safe, everyday lives that they used to know once before and particularly when theres a lack of leadership, will, Political Leadership i speak of, that becomes increasingly problematic as wel. Will one thing we know with these fires, or many of them, were intentionally set. What that tells us is that governor gavin newsom when he attempted to politicize this and turn it into an issue of Climate Change was once again jumping too soon. And not just jumping too soon towards his political opponents but once again pointing the finger of blame at americans out there who might drive an suv, of Everyday Americans out there living their lives, instead of the criminals, motivations to be found out later, who are intentionally setting these fires. President trump is hitting Vice President joe biden, president ial candidate joe biden for his lack of leadership right now in explaining what he would do, interacting with his constituency, making his case to voters. Hes slamming joe biden for still not getting out there. Trump joe biden is a weak person. He does whatever his leftwing puppet masters demand. You know, biden spend the last 47 years selling out america, offshoring your jobs, throwing open your borders, depleting our military, and sacrificing your childrens future in china. First of all, you have a president that has delivered, has kept his promises and has really authored a great chapter in terms of latino unemployment, record low Home Ownership on the rise, and yet you contrast that with joe biden and really his lack of campaigning in florida, his inability to understand that latinos care about faith, they care about family, and they care about freedom, and joe biden doesnt stand for any of those things. Jedediah so you mentioned some of the issues faith, family, and freedom. What specifically are florida voters, latino voters in particular looking at right now . Obviously the economy would be a chief issue, but what can President Trump, what can he do to really do more outreach to that community, given that Hillary Clinton did win in a landslide. And you never want to be too overconfident; right . Of course not. And i think President Trump has demonstrated his commitment to the Latino Community, to the diverse Latino Community in florida in particular and what weve seen with this president is action, its results. When you look at joe biden, his plan to increase taxes on 80 of families, thats something latinos are not going to be in favor of. When you look at his decision that he wants to defund or re reimagine police, thats something as a mother of three i can tell you, latinos do not want to see their families imperiled when they go out the door, when they go to restaurants, they dont want to be accosted by rioters. And i can tell you the other thing is that this president has stood strong in the face of dictators, and i think joe biden the likes of Bernie Sanders, a. O. C. Will simple cower to global progressives and dictators. And the fact that this individual was so emboldened as to walk up to this patrol car and open fire and ambush these two deputies is a stark reminder of that fact. Think what kind of human being it takes to show up where two officers are fighting for their lives and face something as horrendous as we hope and Say Something as horrendous as we hope you die. This is months of protests, of rioting thats gone on. You see Commanding Officers stepping down in large numbers that is concerning to the public public. What do you make of the limitations that are currently being placed on Police Officers in terms of limiting their ability to do their job every day . Well, you know, i am actually currently in portland where i have been speaking to injured Police Officers. As you know, i am the founder of the wounded blue, which assists injured and disabled officers. And hundreds, hundreds of officers in portland have been injured in the 106 days of rioting. The mayors comments as he as he announced that he was removing one of the few tools, one of the few tools left to the Portland Police bureau to try and calmly and with humanity get rid of these crowds of insurgents, which is how im now referring to the rioters, because this is exactly what it is, when you look into the eyes of these men and women who feel abandoned by their mayor and by their city council, its heartbreaking. It culminates when in in her bed to gain acceptance, she takes a triple x rated photo of herself and you can imagine what that be the worst thing you can think of , and she posts it. So shell be accepted. That is what is being pedaled by netflix and look, netflix has a lot of great offerings but this is wrong. It seems to be that they are sexually exploiting little girls , in the name of exposing sexploitation. Weve hurricane warnings posted across areas of mississippi through Southeastern Louisiana through southwestern louisiana got hit by hurricane laura just a couple weeks ago now we have another hurricane heading that way incredible rain from it now still across parts of western or southwestern areas of florida this will continue to pull off towards the northwest as it does florida. Youre going to get a lot better but the storm is going to move really slowly as it approaches land and thats bad news for the coast of say louisiana, mississippi, alabama, maybe the panhandle of florida. It means a prolonged period of rain and a prolonged period of storm surge that doesnt have a chance for that storm surge to begin to subside. So, here is the storm forecast, officially right now, a category 2 storm, right across parts of the central gulf maybe right around the new orleans area, maybe towards coastal areas of mississippi and then it kind of stalls out as it makes that turn and because of that slow move there well see rainfall totals really pileup and i think some of that area could be in the pretty populated area around new orleans so we just want to say and take a look at that, these are, that lighter purple there, you see were talking about rainfall totals maybe 12 18 inches of rain happening in about a twoday period.
