They are going to wind one a tax cut. They had to reach a compromise u cap it at 10,000. This is one of the big and to simplify it why are red states paying for blue states fiscal irresponsibility. Thats what this issue is being able to deduct state income taxes. A bit of a compromise. They knew they had to bring in the northeastern republicans to vote for this bill. Now, on the business side, it slashes the corporate rate from 35 to 20 . Cuts the rate on Small Business income to 25 . Repeals the alternative minimum tax and doubles the death tax exemption, repealing it after 6 years. President trump actually says its so good that democrats may support it. In its going to be simple find. We love that we saw the president yesterday kiss the form because its really little right there in front of you. The key is, this is going to create a lot of jobs in addition to cutting a lot of taxes. Yeah. It really is it is called the tax cuts and jobs act for a reason because we really go after growth. We really go after all the incentives that are shipping our jobs overseas. Our goal is not just to stop that bring them back. More importantly, look, both the tax cuts on the family level, the simplicity of the postcard, which our families love, but, boy, we go all in on main street, paycheck growth, because we have just fallen behind so far behind china and europe and canada and mexico. Its killing our local jobs. And paychecks that go with it. Steve are anybodys taxes going to go up under this. I dont believe so. Mainly because we double the standard deduction so that preserves more of the first dollars every family earns. We lower the taxes. And so people can earn more at almost every level. Then, unlike the reagan years, where their challenge is they just had to get the top rate down. Steve right. What we do is clear out all the punishments under that rate. So you are going to see success and investment and growth rewarded. Steve okay. Well, im sitting in new york, which has a lot of taxes. And until this plan came along, people could deduct, although only a third of the people in the country deduct anyway. You will could deduct your state and local taxes from your federal form. Will the taxes for the people in the high income states, the salt states that everybody is talking about, will their taxes go up or go down . I believe they will go down and here is why. We have been working very closely with those lawmakers from the salt states. Thats why here recently, at the end, working with them, we we restored the state and local property tax deduction. We have raised the child, what we call the family tax credit. Used to just go to a few people. Now goes up to households up to 230,000. Thats why we set the income bracket to make sure, look, we want families to keep more of what they earn, regardless of where they live, including in our high tax states. Steve all right. So youre predicting, i would imagine, that some of those lawmakers in the high tax states are going to be on board. Well, i hope they are. And were getting good feedback. My real point here though is that even if what Donna Brazile revealed, no primary votes were affected. The Democratic National committee doesnt run primaries. State governments run primaries and caucuses and the state parties do. And the idea of saying that votes were affected by this is basically playing in to President Trumps desire to shift the focus from his collusion with a Foreign Government and to probably also shift the focus from the fact that this is not a great Christmas Gift that people are going to get through his tax plan. That its actually going to be just a lump of coal. Abby isnt that the problem though both necessarily be changed but the fact they were trying to control this election. They were trying to determine what the outcome was and boot out Bernie Sanders. You think about a democracy. I know you are shaking your head, jehmu, regardless of the republicans or the democrats doing this, you look at the broader conversation about what a democracy is about. Isnt this the opposite of what should be happening . Its the complete opposite. Look at the dnc charter. It is a neutrality charter just like the rncs you dont take positions in primaries. You empower the voter. The charter says that the didnt abide by that. Thats why they have a class action lawsuit, actually, up against them because they were not neutral in the primary. Allowing him to come into the country from uzbekistan and bringing 20some odd people with him. Sadly we are killing people because of diversity. Whats funny, steve, we dont talk about diversity anywhere else except america, possibly in europe a little bit. Places like that. They are not talking about diversity in the middle east. They are not talking about diversity in africa. And whats interesting is those are the places that have the most homogenous societies in the world. We talk about diversity here. So, in america, one of the most diverse places in the world we have every religion, creed, sex, you name it, sexuality, and, yet, we are constantly talking about this. Well, i think the diversity visa Lottery Program has probably outlived its usefulness, steve. At least, in my opinion. Its unscientific. It is just random selection from lottery that arent represented. It is a lottery. And when you have a choice by chance, you take your chances. And i think that when you recall that the socalled Immigration Reform that i supported a couple of years ago, they were going to dump this program. In fairness to the program, this is a reaction, a diversity visa Lottery Program is a reaction to generations of race and ethicbased immigration. We favored i mean, its in the law. Im not making this up. Im not making a political argument. Its just that we had a racebased immigration. We wanted immigrants that look like our founding father. Even catholics at on one point were excluded. Then the chinese. So i think this is a reaction to the racebase immigration program. But it has outlived its usefulness. Senators on both sides of the aisle want it ended. They agree with the president. It is too unscientific. There have been other potential terrorists who have been nabbed or who use or took advantage of this program. So i think its fine. Lets get rid of it. So, geraldo, are you saying we need more aggressive vetting, more extreme vetting for immigration . Well, rob, we live in a world now where we dont know where the next enemy will come from. I think that extreme vetting, finding out exactly who we have, thats why i support the dream act. Why . Because those kids are extremely vetted. We know exactly where they were born. We know who they were associated with. We know how they got into the country. We know exactly what theyre doing now, you know . Thats why i think that these are the kind of people we can take a chance on. Geraldo, you have had a very long career for yourself. Ever since the World Trade Center attacks, this Jersey City Community and others like it across the country have endured stares, suspicion, and the terrible knowledge that some among them were involved in the mass murder of september 11th. Thousands questioned, hundreds detained, but there is another muslim voice in america. Wondering whether the community has done for its loyalty. Done enough to root out the cancer within it. Geraldo, so much has changed since then. But were still dealing with a lot of the same things. We absolutely are, abby. When i see old clips of myself, the years have been hard on me. We all remember that after pearl harbor we dont remember. We read in our history books, that, you know, it was a very tough time for japanese americans after pearl harbor. When war is based on race and or ethnicity, it makes it very difficult for a member of that race or ethnic group in a conflict. At arabamericans or Muslim Americans are a perfect example that jersey city, patterson, new jersey area, it has a heavy concentration of Muslim Americans, and they were, you know, understandably the focus of extreme scrutiny. Particularly, when we found out after 9 11 that some of the hijackers have moved through some of those very same mosques, that this guy, the truck terrorist attended, and we ask how did nobody know . Should they have known what was going on . Certainly, his family members, his closest friends, people who attended the mosque with him. Why didnt they see his radicalization . Why didnt they Say Something . And thats the continuing controversy. I cant really give you the answer to it, but i just think its a difficult spot for them, and the suspicion is understandable. I remember the war on drugs. The war on drugs was basically an anti we thought of the mexican drug lords and the columbia cocaine people, so latinamericans, hispanic people, latinos like myself were the object of suspicion. I was, you know, every time i would go on a airplane with my mustache, they would search and say we have to search this or that. I understand the concern about the racial or ethnic group and the loyalties, and i also understand how they feel, you know, beleaguered or singled out or discriminated against. In the case of the west side truck terrorist, you know, there are real questions whether people should have seen his radicalization, certainly his dissent in the last couple of months into an isis soldier. Did his wife not see this . His best friends . How come no one said anything . Steve well, the wife said she didnt know anything. She is cooperating, as well as a lot of his friends. You know, we had a sneaking suspicion last year that the dnc was in the tank for Hillary Clinton. And now thanks to a new book, she essentially says that Hillary Clinton because the dnc needed money, Hillary Clinton essentially funded the dnc but then she was going to pull all the strings. And in the last hour or so, the president of the United States tweeted this about it everybodys asking why the Justice Department and the fbi isnt looking into all thats going on with crooked hillary and the dems. Now donna b says she paid for and stole the primary. What about the deleted emails, uranium, podesta, the server, plus, plus, dot, dot, dot. At some point the Justice Department and fbi must do whats right and proper American Public deserves it. Hes got a point, doesnt he . He certainly does, and i dont disagree with anything the president said in those tweets this morning. I look at donna a little bit differently. I was always filled with admiration for her, and i always saw her as an honest broker and historic figure and charismatic public face for the democrats, and then we found out she was feeding questions to hillary during the debate. And then when megyn kelly was busting her on that, donna brazil was evasive and i thought dishonest in her denial. Now comes this. She seems to after helping hillary in a way that was dishonest, now shes throwing hillary under the bus and revealing what i believe to be true that the dnc was virtually a criminal enterprise. It had no desire to see the best person nominated by the party. It was always Hillary Clinton a bill clinton organization. They were feeding it with this budget. It was in total disarray. And i tell you what. That, to me, is the biggest story. Abby is this the nail in the coffin for the clintons you think . You got it, abby. Not only is it a nail in the cough inin the clinton era, but its also i think more relevantly shows that the Democratic National committee is in total disarray. We did achieve what we said we would in the house, it was just the senate. Remember, our terms are two years. Were not done with our job yet, and i believe we will finish that. But whats most important is we have worked with the senate and the administration. And the senate in their bill you will notice will look very similar to ours. There will be some changes in there, but i firmly believe if you look at the momentum whats happening, the talk that ive had over in the senate, i do not see those senate and republican senators coming on your show and criticizing this bill. Well, some of them have. Some of them have about the high state taxes; right . In new york, where you live, new jersey, and where you live in california they cant get onboard with this bill because this doesnt lower taxes for those states. Steve but those people in those states, their taxations are going to go down across the board; right . It is. And what you need to do instead of looking at one item, itemizes because its going to be even fewer now because of the standard deduction being raised, we eliminate the amt. Which if you have somebody paying an amt, thats actually more than what your payment deductions are going to be, then you lower the rates on individuals. What you have to do, take your tax bill entirely, you wont have to spend weeks on this. You can spend minutes because youll be able to fill it out on a postcard. And you find that at the end of the day, you keep more of your own money, and i think thats really what americas looking for. But most importantly, jobs. Steve sure. You have got to be competitive. And think of all of those trillions of dollars that the current tax code system will punish you if you bring it back to america. Now theyre going to bring it back to america and you know what . Invest in american jobs. Steve plus, its going to streamline it. We saw the president hold up the tax card. In fact, yesterday, he gave it a chance. He chipped it. Steve he knew. Its interesting you said only a third of americans do itemization for their taxes anyway. So going forward, people are going to wonder, you know, am i impacted . But you have made it very clear. Everybodys taxes are going to go down. But yesterday, and im sure youve seen this. Members of the u. S. Senate on the democratic side, they wound up getting four pinocchios in the Washington Post for the middle class, those making less than 80,000, their taxes are going to go up and they say the taxes are actually going to go down. And remember, this is coming from the Washington Post telling schumer hes getting minimum oa. And when you read this bill, and its not thousands of pages like obamacare. Its saying your taxes are being cut. You get to keep more of what you earn and most importantly, americas going to be competitive again, jobs are going to go up, and on january 1st, youre going to get more money in your paycheck because your with hogging are going down because your rate is lower. Steve if this passes, kevin, will it impact the taxes people pay on this year . Well, what will happen is we do 100 expensing. So if you have a Small Business or others, and youre looking at i want to make that investment now, you can make that investment right now starting september 27. And you know what . You could put that out so people are going to be moving forward there. But it will go forward next year. January 1st, youll get more money in your paycheck. A lot of the press is out making excuses already for Hillary Clinton, which, honestly, that makes her look guilty. Look, all we said is we want to know whether or not there was an fbi open investigation before you made this sale. And everybody hits the fan, and i think its a little overblown. Steve there you go. So at the same time, we were doing and making a Nuclear Agreement with the iranians, they were harboring alqaeda. And now we know that they had been harboring alqaeda for a long period of time. So this is unacceptable from our intelligence agencies. But at this point, were going to continue to comb through all of these documents that has are now released that you guys found, and well be getting the history out to people as its uncovered. And i will say, this was not the intelligence professionals that work within the agencies. This was the administration.
