With the murder of jamal khashoggi. They did not come to a conclusion. The world is a vicious place. Chris we will discuss the growing tribalism with senator and Corey Lewandowski and david moss, outside advisors to the president who say President Trump enemies including top officials in the white house are undermining him. Plus our sunday panel tackles a new Administration Report on Climate Change. That presents the grimmest picture yet to the threat to the u. S. Alright now on fox news sunday. And hello again from fox news in washington. As family and friends get together, this one piece of advice a lot of people are taking. Dont talk politics. News about President Trump and hot button issues are so divisive, you run the risk of blowing up the family gathering. Now as we head into the 2020 race for president , will this growing tribalism get even worse . In a few minutes we will sit down with two outside advisors to the president , Corey Lewandowski and for their first interview on their new book called mr. Trump enemies. But first, republican senator ben sass, a frequent critic of the president and the author of his new book. Them. Why we hate each other and how to heal. Welcome back to fox news sunday. Thanks for coming to snowy let nebraska. Chris we will get to political tribalism but i want to start discussing another threat and thats the 13 federal agencies came out with something called the National Climate assessment on friday and here are the major findings from the assessment. Temperatures are 1. 8 Degrees Higher than 100 years ago. As these are nine inches higher. Hurricanes and wildfires are much worse and Climate Change could cut our gdp by 10 percent by 2100 if there are no changes. How seriously do take this report from the Trump Administration . I think its clear the climate is changing. Reasonable people can differ about how much and how rapidly. Its good clear that humans are a contributing factor. But what do you do about it, have to innovate our way into the future and right now, dont you a lot of the people who put climate as their number one issue. You dont hear them Offering Innovative Solutions for the future. Its usually just a lot of alarmism. I think the report is important it shows the climate is changing the one for instance, you oppose what you call epa overreach including president obamas Climate Change plan. According to the report, rolling backpack which would limit Greenhouse Gas emissions is exactly the wrong approach. I think we have to recognize this is a global issue in china and other countries will be the number one drivers in the long term. What the u. S. Need to do is participate in a longterm conversation about how you get to innovation and its going to be a conversation that doesnt start with alarmism but with some discussion of the magnitude of the challenge. The global elements and how the u. S. Shouldnt do this as a field measure but some sort of innovative proposal. By now thats not what i get for most of the people who make that a top three issue for themselves. Chris china for instance is trying to grow into the future and has become a huge investor in solar panels. There was an international agreement. Isnt much of the rest of the world moving faster than we are . I think the first part about Chinese Investment does show part of the way forward. The u. S. Needs to have a longterm investment strategy, that is true. Things like the paris climate records tend to be more find honest in other nations and thats not good for the u. S. Consumer and its not a longterm consumer but conversations like that are important going forward. Chris lets turn to what role the Saudi Crown Prince may or may not have played a number of jamal khashoggi. And what the u. S. Should do about it. The cia have according to reports, this week, concluded that mbs wasnt about President Trump challenges this. Eyes i said, maybe he did, maybe he didnt. But i will say, [indiscernible] chris what do you think of President Trumps conclusion that basically comes down to this. Regardless of what mbs did, we need to continue doing business with saudi arabia. Yeah, very weak statement. I think we need to distinguish between two things. There are a whole bunch of bad guys in the middle east and if you want to make a hardcore realist case. I think this is what some of what the president is trying to hint at. There are times when hours and saudis interest temporarily online and you have to work with bad guys in the world. Theres a coherent list case to be made there. I often refer to them as the second worst players in the middle east. Second only to iran. But thats a different thing. The so weak that we fail to tell the truth. Mbs murdered somebody abroad and its not strength to mumble past that. Strength is telling the truth even when its hard. Fortunately, we have a u. S. Intelligence community thats really good. A lot of us in the Article One Branch of government, the congress, have heard from the Intelligence Community and i will get another classified briefing about this. Our Intelligence Community is really good and the report is really clear. The president should be stronger. That was a weak statement. Chris the president got into a remarkable faceoff this week with chief Justice John Roberts after a federal judge issued a nationwide fan on President Trumps new policy that would basically bar asylum for anybody who crosses the country into the country illegally. Here is President Trump. This was an obama judge but ill tell you what, its not going to happen like this anymore. Chris chief Justice Roberts responded with we do not have obama judges, bush judges or clinton judges. We have an Extraordinary Group of dedicated judges doing their best to do equal right to those appearing before them. Your reaction sir regarding the dust up between the president and the chief justice . Its clearly the case there are bad opinions that come out of the ninth circuit. Thats why they get turned over at a rate higher than any other circuit and its legitimate to talk about that. But the chief justice is right. We dont have obama judges and bush judges or trumpet judges. We have judges in the american system. They take on a black robe where theyre supposed to shield their partisan preferences. There judges. When the American People want to affirm a constitutional system with the article 3 branch which is where the judiciary said. Chris i have lifetime appointment, that because we believe theyre supposed to lay down their partisan preferences. When the president wants to critique that judging, he should get out the merits of critiquing a bad ruling and should help it where our kids why we think we should have obama judges and trump judges. We should have people that are impartial but thats why they wear a black robe and dont run for election. We have the do a better job of teaching basic american civics and i think the chief justice is statement was right in what we want the nation to understand about why we have three separate but equal branches of government that check and balance each other. Chris lets turn to your new book. How do you the growing political tribalism in this country . We have an epidemic of loneliness in this country be one of the things were not doing well is putting politics in its proper place. Were turning upside down the pyramid of attachments that should matter in peoples lives. Politics matter but politics cant come first. If politics compares, somethings wrong with you. Its a sad thing. The most basic relationships in American Life are supposed to be with your family, your friends, your neighborhood, at your local place of worship and your workplace. Right now, were living through adigital revolution that is undermining. This isnt about the last two years. There are people who watch cable news everyday that wants to hyperventilate about politics every minute. Theres something wrong when thats happening. Whats going on isnt because of President Trump. This isnt the last two years or the next two years. This is the last couple of decades. This digital revolution is something we need to wrestle with because its bigger than politics but its warping politics as well. Chris as you know, our next guest in the next segment, Corey Lewandowski and david bossie have written a new book called, trumps enemies which speaks exactly to this divide. In the book, they say this about republican senators corker, flake and a fellow you may know named themselves. Some republicans were not brave enough to run against trump for president occupy some of the loudest of the enemies of the president. They also write about political treason. Question, how do you plead . So republics arent healthy when people use words like treason about policy debates. Thats a pretty messed up worldview. The most fundamental things in life are about the people who love you and will comfort you in your old age. What is politics about . Politics is about maintaining a framework for ordered liberties of people can live in the neighborhoods and communities that they live in. I havent seen their book and ive never met Corey Lewandowski. Ive met david bossie before. That language about enemies and treason and politics is pretty important and i think most americans think its weird. When you look at the small set of people who put politics at the senator of their lives, they tend to be really lonely. Most Healthy People want to Coach Little League go to the church and have great coworkers at the office and put on face paint when nebraska plays football on saturday. Thats the most natural way to live. Then you want politicians to maintain a framework of liberty and go back home. One of the fundamental problems we have is the Political Class of people or so it does with politics that when they go to washington, they never plan to leave. Thats why im for term limits and thats why its messed up five of the seven richest counties of the suburbs in washington d. C. Where the lobbyists live. I think americans want politics to be put back in its proper place but not to be at the center of peoples worldview. Chris senator, thank you. Thank you for the time this Holiday Weekend and please come back. Thanks chris. Chris President Trump has his enemies that are the worst inside his own white house. President trump enters the second half of his term facing many challenges but is one of the biggest coming from inside his own white house . Joining me now for their first interview, the authors of the new book trumps enemies. How the deep state is undermining the presidency. The president s First Campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, now Senior Advisor to the Vice President pac and that the campaign manager, david bossie. Welcome to fox news sunday. I want to start with the title of your book. Trumps enemies in which you include among his enemies, not only democrats but the Intelligence Community, the Administrative State. The media. And the establishment. Corey, is that really how you see the world of politics in washington . You just heard themselves call that a warped, weird, lonely view of the world. I respect senator themselves but what he has to acknowledge is that the attacks the president has faced since the day he won the election in november 2016 have been unprecedented. Those attacks have come from the media, the republican establishment who never supported candidate trump and still by and large dont support him even though hes taken over the Republican Party. And many others. What we outline and the Intelligence Community. A big part of what we outline is how the Intelligence Community went after the president through the fisa application process and those individuals who work on the campaign. Because they simply disagreed with his political philosophy and that should be a scary thing for every american. Chris we will get into the brush investigation but you also go after people who are working for the president. You write to this, some of the people in the white house is now becoming clear couldnt and shouldnt be trusted. You name specifically, former Economic Advisor gary cohn, sean spicer as members of what you call the november nightclub you people who turned magically into Trump Supporters after he was elected. You write that they wanted to control the president instead of as you said in your first book, to let trump be trump. Exactly. That means that back for a moment. Lets remember what is going on here. Theres a vast leftwing conspiracy. Going on that has been going on since the president won this election. All throughout the transition and his first two years. A vast leftwing conspiracy. Very similar words im using to what Hillary Clinton called about white rightwing conspiracy. Chris that didnt turn out to be true. There was an effort by the conservative movement to undermine president clinton. Chris he did have a relationship with monica lewinsky. Of course he did. The media, republican establishment and the Intelligence Services separately are undermining this president. That is what this book is about. Chris but the republican establishment is not leftwing. The Intelligence Community is not necessarily leftwing. The Administrative State isnt necessarily and neither is the media. Mccain, peter strzok, we can go down the list that undermined the presidency from the beginning. They were using illegal operations against him. Chris how about the people inside the white house . This is an important point. We have seen individuals, my guess is not only did they not support him but probably didnt vote for him on election day. Im sure gary cohn didnt vote for him and other people defined as globalists. There are many individuals who fought hard to get into the white house who did everything they could prior to them getting elected to keep him from being in the white house. What we do is we call these people out because its the right thing to do. This is not dissimilar from what Melania Trump has said. There are people in the building they dont trust. President trump said in his ow interview recently that there are people in the building that he cannot trust. We still dont know who wrote the anonymous letter. We dont necessarily know who they are. But there are people in the white house who understand and are for this president s agenda and those who are there for their own agenda. Chris courtney, i will ask you about something very specific with you in the book go after the Current White House chief of staff, john kelly, who you said as recently as august wouldnt let the two of you walk around the west wing without a formal escort. Is kelly one of the people you believe is undermining the president . I respect to john kelly for his service to the country. As long as the president wants to keep the masses chief of staff, that is his prerogative. To say that dave and i, to people who have been unresolved in our support for the president. To have an escort which almost nobody else has to have is a little bit out of bounds. The potential work in television and our beds across the board to call into question our ability to walk around the campus of the white house is something that should be addressed. Chris david . Its unfortunate. I completely respect general kelly and i respect the president wants to keep general kelly there. Its unfortunate that general kelly does not utilize us as much as we think he should be its his prerogative and hes in that job and we respect the job he has done. I wish his people, i wish there were people within the white house structure that cared a
