10 an hour and four oreos. Good for you. Thank you for inviting us into your home. Thats it for this special report. Greta is on the record right now. This is a fox news alert. Isis is now advancing in iraq. Tens of thousands of iraqis are fl fleeing their homes fleeing for their lives. Isis ordering christians to leave or be murdered. The takeover is spreading. Also tonight, the white house considering air strikes and humanitarian air strikes in iraq. Invester and lieutenant oliver north. We are joined with the latest. Mitchell . Thanks for having me. Mitchell, can you hear me . Caller yes. Sorry, we had a break off. I can tell. Tell me whats going on there. Caller well, basically, isis broke out of their area throughout mosul and pushed 20 miles into the outskirts of the british capital and down to the defensive 900 border with the islamic state. The Security Forces are dire. They have been complaining they havent received new weapons since 2003. They have much more advanced weaponry considering they stole it all from the iraqi army. In terms of the president , is he saying anything at all . Caller what hes done in the last week is finally bury the hatchet for malachi in baghdad on a variety of issues. They agreed to coordinate options to fight the islamic state. It might be the deal we have seen the last couple days. Statements from twitter stated the group going to make yourself a target and within days, four christian villages and probably refugees were forced out of their homes. A lot of attention on the mosul dam. Some described it falling into the wrong hands is like a weapon of mass destruction causing flooding and loss of lives. Do you have information, the reports are isis have taken over the dam. Have they made threats . Caller the biggest concern you have with the facility that is so poorly maintained and difficult to run, it seems
unlikely they want to flood their own state. They might no have the capacity to keep it functioning and operating. The smallest thing could go wrong and it could collapse with large chunks of rock under the water. Mitchell, thank you. Right now, the white house is considering air strikes as well as air drops of humanitarian supplies in iraq. Ed henry is live with the latest. Ed, why the humanitarian air drops. Who are they trying to save and whats going on . Greta, just getting word that it appears it humanitarian operation of the aspect of it has gotten under way and they are trying to get relief supplies from the u. S. Military to the folk who is are trapped on that mountain you were hearing the reporter talk about. Maybe up to 40,000 of them. They havent had food, water, supplies in days. This could be a genocide because
you have seen isis going around slaughtering christians and other ethnic and religious minorities. These are folks very much on defense right now. The question is what the president is going to do about it. The white house spokesperson, earlier today, said isis is cold and outrageous and more could be slaughtered in the hours and days ahead. When pressed on what will happen, what the u. S. Will do, he was more murky on it. He said there was no u. S. Operation to solve it. He blamed it on al maliki. What will it take for military action, he said it has to be in the core interest of the United States. I asked him would preventing a genocide classify as a core u. S. Interest. He would not answer that directly. That is a question tonight, what does the president see as being in the core interest of theUnited States . As i reported, we are getting indications from officials getting supplies is started. No confirmation of u. S. Air strikes, at least not yet. Will the president commit any military intervention . We dont know. The president has not come out and said anything, yet. There are some indications he might come out later this evening and tell americans something but that is not clear. In the process to do humanitarian drops without the military to disable isis surrounding the mountain. Reporter thats a great question. You cant do one without the other. If you just drop relief supplies, it is possible that isis and the islamic militants could attack relief planes. You need u. S. Air strikes to clear a corridor of relief to get the supplies in. What is possible and i underscore possible is air
strikes could be in the process of happening to clear the corridor, but the u. S. Government is not confirming it, yet, because we want to make sure our planes are out of harms way. That might be what we hear. I stress, might hear from the president if he comes out. Senior officials said what you did. Its hard to do a relief effort without some military intervention that at least protects the folks getting in harms way. Im curious, they are not teams dropping the humanitarian teams, i imagine they are slower and bigger planes and a bigger target. Do you know what kind of planes they are . We dont have the specific planes, yet. I would note, the distinction we need to make is, even if there is a small amount of very small amount of military intervention to get the relief supplies in, that doesnt mean sending in Ground Troops or we are getting involved in a larger military operation. Thats something the white house
is stressing again and again. The president opposed the war in iraq, pulled troops out and left behind a stable iraq. It is clear, iraq is not stable. Hes reluctant to commit a large scale military operation again. He doesnt believe that the American People do not want a large scale operation again. Ed, thank you. As we noted today, isis militants seized the dam that puts isis in control of major power. John fulton joins us. Good evening, sir. Many people are slaughtered. This is the worst. We watched this go on two months. This didnt happen yesterday. Isis has been moving out, threatening the kurds and the sunnis in the northwestern part of the country. Now we have the Kurdish Forces breaking close to their own capital, out of ammunition and
supplies, which they have been begging for from the United States for weeks. You have a humanitarian tragedy about to emerge that we are not responding to. This calls out not for discreet action or supplies or a strike here. It cries out for a strategy. What is in americas interest . Clearly, presenting isis from establishing territoryial control and being a threat around the world. We have no strategy. Who is supplying isis and how organized are they . They are very effective and supplied fwi resources, bun, equipment and weapons iraq left behind. Right now, they have more capability than the Kurdish Forces and they are demonstrating it. When i was reading today about the dam, which is in very poor shape and takes a lot to maintain it, as mitchell talked
about, someone needs to maintain it. Its not a question of using it as a weapon of mass destruction by unleashing everything, but not taking care of it. It can take out a 65 foot wall of water. Any control of religious fanatics, obviously, they want to keep their own water supply going. If they were on the verge of being defeated and the hitler bunker mentality. Even if they dont feel they want to blow it up, im not sure they can maintain it. When you hear the description of it, it takes a lot of work. This is a precarious stand to begin with. We dont know whether the people who maintain the dam on a daily basis are still there. Dropping supplies from cargo planes is probably the least effective way of getting humanitarian supplies in as they come down in parachutes, people rush toward them, they get crushed by the supplies. Do we have personnel on the grounds to supervise the distribution of the supplies or are they going to get picked over . Can we protect the people on the ground . Does anyone have a clue what the white house is doing on this . Now we have another crisis. This is not a surprise. Anyone looking saw this coming. This was predictable in 2011 when we pulled all the troops out. Its been predictable for two months. You cant simply sit back and watch the world go by and expect that terrorists are not going to behave like terrorists. They said they want an islamic space. They have declared they have it. If you are a christian or anybody that doesnt conform to their view of the world, you are in danger. Have we done anything to prevent it from unfolding . No. Today, the white house cant bring themselves to see theres a strategic catastrophe looming. He said we are seriously
concerned. If that isnt the weakest say nothing statement ever. We are seriously concerned. It means, i dont know i would say, as we look at it unfold, there is a parallel. In 1991, after the first gulf war when Saddam Hussein tried to repress the kurds, we set up a protective zone 688 that justified it. Where is the multilateral Obama Administration today. Thank you sir. Thank you. Ed republican henry reported the white house is considering air strikes. Lieutenant kerm oliver north is joining us. The reality is we have one Carrier Battle Group in the region in the northern persian gulf. Nothing in the mediterranean. You are not going to get help
out of the Muslim Brotherhood government that is part of nato and some assets, perhaps we are not giving out too much saying air base down in kuwait, which was used during the initial operations in 2003. You dont have the capacity today, in our military, to make much of a dent in whats going on. C130s would have to air drop the supplies, have open doors. That means everybody is on oxygen at High Altitude and you have no idea where the parachutes would go or low and vulnerable to airtosurface missiles. Something john said that is important, the kurds never received a single bullet from the aid we delivered. Isis forces or the islamic states forces are better armed and better equipped because of the weapons they have taken from the iraqis. The moeibility is better. They are wealthy. You have a precarious situation for up to 40,000 to 50,000 christians trying to find r refuge. I think its outrageous we have never done anything to help. I was there and the whole area about seven months ago and at the time, the kurds were doing so well, they were so excited, they were helping refugees in syria. They were refugees in the 80s in iran. They were building a pipeline. They were doing really well. Now all hell is breaking loose. Its a different trajectory. 35 days ago, i think it was, 36 days ago, i was on your show and i was in washington at the time. I said to you, once ramadan starts, all military operations are going to come to a screeching halt. It was a wonderful opportunity to help the kurds. I said after ramadan and here we are after ramadan, all hell would break loose and it has. Isis is trying to consolidate kurd stan and make sure the kurds are never a force they have to reckon with. Tell me, where are we going with this . Whats going to happen . Look, i dont want to be a profit of doom and i dont pretend to have the gift of prophesy, but it is a dire circumstance for the best allies we have in the world. Israel is the only one that is better. What you are about to see is the kurds suffer devastating defeats and the inability to help all those refugees. When you were there seven months ago, they were getting refugees by the hundreds. Now they are getting them by the tens of thousands. We have done nothing to help. This administration, with its lead from behind strategy has abandoned, as i say, the second best allies we have in that part
of the world are the kurds. And the al maliki regime in baghdad is inept. When i was there it was fun to be an american in that part of the world. They kept thanking the United States for all they had done to help the kurds. Where ever i went, they had good to say. It might be a different story tonight. Colonel north, thank you, sir. Greta. This is a fox news alert. Time is running out. In six hours, a temporary israelhamas ceasefire expires. They are scrambling to get ready for what may come next for the renewed rocket attacks. Rick is live in gaza city with the latest. Rick . Reporter greta, based on what we are hearing from hamas, rockets could fly again tomorrow
morning from gaza into israel. If that happens, israel says the response will be severe. A masked hamas spokesman was on unless israel agrees to lift the blockade and build a gaza port in the mediterranean. Hamas wants 100 prisoners released. If that happens, hamas says theres a chance to expand a ceasefire and negotiate further details. At a rally by thousands of supporters, they told a crowd the war wont be over until its demands are met and their fingers are on the trigger and rockets aimed at telaviv. We interviewed a cardiologist that says this is about basic human rights. You know thats not going to happen. This is not about demilitarizing hamas. Its thinking we are
palestinians rights of this operation. About preventing palestinians from struggling for independence, for peace. Basically, they want to keep us as leaders in something that can only be described as a prison. When we are hit and killed, every two years. Reporter a senior israeli official tells fox news israel is no longer demanding the peace talks that hamas disarm. If they reopen the borders, it could be difficult to prevent them from doing that. Rick, thank you. Straight ahead, we are following breaking news. The u. S. Is starting humanitarian air attacks. Karl rove is here next. You will barely blef this one. Also right now, 40,000 religious refugees are fleeing isis. They are trapped on a mountain top. Ed henry grilled the white house about when president obama would decide what to do. It seems like a disconnect you are laying out from yourself theres about to be a genocide of 40,000 people and you are saying we are seriously concerned. Isnt that a disconnect . No, ed, we are watching. People might be slaughtered. We are supporting the iraq Security Forces and Kurdish Forces to confront the problem both in the short term and working with iraqs Political Leadership and address the root cause of this over the long term. Karl rove joins us. Good evening, karl. Watching it as if it happened today. Are they watching it today because now its gotten to be catastrophic, 40,000 people at risk of being slaughtered. Yeah, look, if we needed evidence this administration is incapable of thinking strategically or thinking ahead, we have evidence now that thats the case. Did they think isis when it invaded the northwestern part of the country wouldnt move further north and further east toward the kurdish part of the country . Did they believe that somehow or another the kurds would be able to magically produce the bullets
and supplies needed to fend off attacks . The administration has been behind the eight ball. This president does not have a strategic view of what americans interests are or what america ought to do to aid allies and friends and confront enemies. Is it he doesnt have a strategic view or a different view or doesnt have any interest . This is getting a little bit, you know, this is very disturbing that this is happening tonight. Its very disturbing things are happening in lots of places around the world where people think he should be more engaged in. I was talking earlier with a friend of mine whose view is the president doesnt want america to lead. Granted theres a lot in what he does that makes that probably accurate. The president does not want us to be engaged. He does not believe that america has been a force for good in the
world and believes the world would be better off if america were restrained and withdrawn and less involved. He is absolutely wrong. Again, having that feeling, having that opinion, having that world view does not mitigate the fact he cannot think strategically. Go back to 2011. 2011, he personally screwed up the forces agreement that would have left 10, 15, 20,000 american troops still in iraq, helping train the iraqis conducting counter insurgency. Does anybody think this would be happening if we had done that . No, it wouldnt be happening. The president hasnt been thinking strategically. When isis burst on to the scene, he should have said what do we need to do and aid the kurds. They needed a way to block isis or at least if they move south toward baghdad to sit on their flag and the stronger the kurds
were, the weaker isis would be able to maneuver to the south. The president has not granted the kurds the lodgist cal support, military aid they need and want. They are our allies and have been for decades. We are desserting them in their moment of need through inaction from this administration. I dont think theres an easy answer to the issues. I wish i were more convinced the president was thinking about them in advance of them becoming to catastrophic. These things are not just showing up tonight. This has been on the radar screen for months. I dont see i think you are right. He doesnt appear to be thinking about them. This is not the only instance where this happened. We saw it in syria. He laid down a red line assad must go. He had flowery and powerful statements about the necessity of acting in libya, then led
from behind and exited the stage when gadhafi fell and didnt provide what they needed to move toward the west. The president does not think strategically at all. The chick
