Test test. Test test. Test test. Military style weapons. They were planning to target police officers. Now the alert level is still at the second highest level. That still stands and today there is an increased visible increase in the number of security on the streets. Jewish schools were closed today in brussels and in an twerp where there is a large group a population of a Jewish Community over there. They said that this is a precautionary measure. I also went to a Jewish Museum today, despite a terror attack last year that left four People Killed by a suspected extremist who is believed to have been in syria. There were police cars taking turns guarding that institution and across the country as well. It really is a visible increase in security that has gotten people on edge, people on the streets looking every time a police car drives by or they hear sirens, and this issue of homegrown extremism is not new in belgium. The suspects in that Jewish Museum attack is due to stand trial and there is also the largest terror case here in belgium that is due to conclude next month. This involves a group that is accused of recruiting and radicalizing young men and sending them to syria. Now the government also believes that some 350 young men, young belgians have gone to syria to join the fight over there. The government said that they are going to tuven up anti terror laws but also admit it istive to stop every single attack. I have a question for you about the threat they are following. While these raids are going on in europe are they finding any threads that lead them back to where the source or training has been taking place . Well really the problem of radicalization here in europe is still ongoing. The debate of what really causes these young people to enter or join such extremist cells as to whether there is one root cause. They havent determined that. That is why official and different authorities are trying to Work Together to determine how that crossed border. These networks dont just operate in one country. What happened in paris may be link to belgium. Police are looking along down that avenue as well and who exactly is responsible for the main recruitment. We know that several groups have claimed to be actively recruiting young people here. We have the islamic state. We have young people joining other jihadist groups in syria so there are many possible sources here and of course authorities, interpol, and others are looking at every avenue. Thank you so much. As we watch the terror raids all across europe should we be worried about them growing here in the u. S. Congressman scott perry is on the foreign committees. What are you hearing about these raids in europe . Dana, i want to say this is a symptom of a larger problem. Radical islam is on the rise and our president is doing absolutely nothing to protect america or americas interests. You know were hearing about it everywhere. Certainly its on the rise in europe and its to be expected. This has been expected for some time and its finally coming to fruition. The question really should be what should be what can america be doing about it and right now the president is taking the lead on doing absolutely nothing. Do you not think that the United States is sharing information and intelligence with the europeans . Thats the minimum requirement, dana. You know you look at what the president has done. First of all, the border is wide open. Instead of talking about vetoing the Homeland Security bill and putting the priority of Illegal Immigrants or terrorists coming across the border he ought to be looking for solutions to fix that problem. Instead of repeating what happened in iraq and afghanistan, he should be securing that as well, our interests there. It just goes on. Instead of tweeting something out or sending james taylor to sing a song, he ought to be taking on boko haram and helping that country deal with boko haram. Look, it doesnt get much worse where the president is doing nothing to protect americans or americas interests around the globe. Well, i actually think they must be doing something because we have not had an attack here a large scale attack that we have been worried about for many years and with your position on the Homeland Security committee, what about here at home . What sort of worries do you have and what more do you think that the government should be doing . Well, there are two investigations currently being started. One being led by new representative john catko from new york and were going to be looking into extremism in america, islamic extremism. We already have some of these camps in america. They have been identified and were going to start looking into them on the oversight committee. Im going to Start Holding hearings about them. We need to start looking at what we can do what legislation is appropriate to stop them from happening in america. At the same time theres a woman in oklahoma got her head cut off. So that woman and her family, that scale doesnt get any larger. When you are looking at the radicalization by social media or spreading the word thats the seed thats planted, what sort of plans do you think the administration which announced this week some additional measures on Cyber Security and those issues, can that help . I think it can help. My concern is oftentimes the administration seems to be more interested in what americans are doing on the Cyber Security realm as opposed to what these radicals are doing and using those tools that we have on social media and so open and sorth no monitor them and deal with them. Instead were monitoring americans and collecting americans metadata as opposed to these people that stay here, overstay their visas and want to harm americans. What should be the focus. What do you hear from local Law Enforcement . What are they asking congress more . What sort of tools or resources do they think they need . Local Law Enforcement needs to have the ability to follow every thread to its final conclusion and they need to be unshackled. When you hear about things whats happening in new york city and the mayor there and putting barriers to monitor these radicals, whether they are radicalizing in mosques and so on and sorth, those things are arent. The Administration Needs to take the shackles off local Law Enforcement and let them do their job. Thank you, congressman for joining us. Thank you jich. Today in Washington Prime minister David Cameron and president obama teaming up to combat terrorism. James, what did you make of that press Conference Today . The most marked contrast between president obama and british Prime Minister David Cameron was that the latter openly spoke about what he called the slawft extremist terrorist threat whereas president obama talked about the threat about violent extremism. Where he talked about Big Technology firms to open their encryption software. The two leaders simply went over that. President obama told reporters his aides have been system take working with private companies so address their concerns. Also, the two leaders joined forces to try to persuade the u. S. Congress to hold off on imposing fresh sanctions against iran. President obama arguing that pushing that measure right now would effectively torpedo the on Going Nuclear talks in geneva and possibly lead to war and Prime Minister cameron acknowledging that hes been directly telephoning u. S. Senators on this issue. Was the white house surprised by the stronger language that cameron used at that press conference when it comes to actually naming islamic terrorism . Probably not. But nonetheless because this whitehouse tends to choose this kind of language they understood this that would happen. The president in making reference to violent extremism did so perhaps four or five times. In one occasion in virtual the same breath he went then on to mention how peaceable most muslims are. And today we heard Strong Language about terrorism from Prime Minister cameron but what about president obama . Fwhoe what were up against and we know how we will win. I do not consider it an existential threat. Clearly they are singing from the same sheet of music but using different words. It sounds to me hes too soft open terror. We face a poisonous and fanatical threat. This has metastasized and it has widespread and it has penetrated communities around the world. The elephant in the room is the cowardice of the establishment in dont fronting this danger. And former u. N. Ambassador john bolton joins us. Mr. Ambassador i was struck by the stark differences between David Cameron and president obama. Do you think that the white house was surprised by it . No. I think they knew this was coming. There was an editorial in the times of london yesterday jointly authored by the two of them where cameron had watered his rhetoric down to conform with the way obama characterizes it. What you saw today is what cameron actually believes. Hes not afraid to talk about it. The most important word he used is ideology. What we face here is an ideology. Unless we understand that, i dont think we can be effective in dealing with it. This isnt because of poverty, gitmo, it season because of any of the pretexts used tottack the United States and the west. This is an ideology founded in a radical version of islam fundamentally opposed to our way of life. Thats the problem we face. Muslims recognize it just as well apeople in the west. One of other topic of iran and were you surprised to hear that David Cameron was actually calling members of congress to try to lobby then passing a bill of sanctions against iran. I have to say i was. Im not aware of that ever happening before. Prime ministers talk to members of congress. They exchange views but he was very forth right in saying he was lobbying congress against the sanctions that they are considering. I think this has been a mistake in british policy for the last 12, 13 years. Unfortunately our government has adopted the same policy. I think its a big mistake. I think the only thing people in congress are talking about are snapback sanctions. If the president cuts a deal and iran violates it the sanctions come back. I think this concern over the legislation that congress is considering shows how fragile the deal is. If the deal can fall apart because theres so little trust between the parties, its not much of a deal. So what do you think about americas negotiating position president obamas i should say which is representing us going into these talks . Does iran think that it has the upper hand . Well they do have the upper hand and they think so as well and they listen to performances like this where the president once says all options are on the table. He says that in a deep serious voice and a few minutes later he says but that doesnt mean were going to do anything militarily. The iranians think they are geg concession after concession. They could take the deal as it is now. They see more concessions coming, so why not try to get them. They are on a path to try to nuclear weapons. They see the economic sanctions being removed. They are exactly where they want to be. Thanks ambassador. Thank you, dana. President obamas state of the Union Address is days away. Most recently the president taking heat for his handling on the war open terror, refusing to use the term radical islam weve been describing about the paris attacks. Just yesterday the Obama Administration criticized for releasing five prisoners from gitmo gitmo. What does he need to say in the state of the Union Address to turn Public Opinion around . Joining us our political panel, the National Reviews rich lowery and phillip bump. Sometimes on the pam with you. Now i get to be in this chair where bret baire usually is. The state of the union is going to happen on tuesday, rich. I dont think the president thinks he has a p. R. Problem. The fox poll season the only poll that shows 42 . Weve already heard and seen all of it because we know the state of the union is no longer the big t. V. Event it is so if you want to get attention for it and get the kind of numbers to make up that you are falling off from on the broadcast talk about in the speeches, you go on social media they have been doing all that. But its not really top of mind for anyone Free Community college. People are very concerned about this threat but the disconnect is the president , he really wanted to roll up and declare the war on terror over, and the last thing he maedged is six or seven years into his presidency he would have a press conference with the leader of bring tan and the top thing would be terrorism. Do you think that the president will address terrorism in the state of the Union Address . The main message the big message . I dont know it will be the big message. I dont know how he could get away without mentioning after all were conducting military strikes against isis in the middle east. Obviously this topic is fresh in everyones mind as well. I dont think the white house thinks it has a p. R. Problem. You mention his approval has been stuck in a narrow range. Part of that is republicans quite frankly according to gallup polling has been 8, 10 approving a year. Hes already lost the audience hes going to lose. I dont think hes terribly concerned about getting a big spike. The crowd hes going to face on tuesday is a little different in make up. He said today hes going to be on offense in the next two years but i dont know any president who said im going to be on defense in the next two years. Do you think he actually want to get anything done or just fight . His offense will be an aggressive defense. Offensive. Vetoing anything that actually gets on his desk thats a major proposal, but well continue to see a very aggressive effort in terms of executive powers, including overseas. I think his big legacy items that hes focused on now is not really dealing with isis. He knows hes going to pass that on to his successor he will do the bear minimum. Its a big deal with iran, and as a big deal like be cuba. The additional things that hes mentioned so far, we know that the white house sort of dribbled out a little bit of the nuggets that were going to be in the speech like the Free Community college and he actually gave a speech on that. Do you think that they think that they could get some wins . So in the mid term elections there was a few days of we hope that we could Work Together on a few big things. Tax reform being one of them. Do you think thats possible . I mean, tax reform, i mean, its what, five decades now weve been talking about having a tax reform deal. I dont know who could ever get that done. I think that president obamas goal here i think he is his plan is to play offense sieve he has been since election day. You mention executive action. Its going to be one of the things that represents what president obama wants to do moving forward which is constrained with his ability to work outside of congress because he Knows Congress season going to work with him. Since the mid term elections, hes really couldnt nothing big legislativei. Everywhere hes moving the ball has been in terms of his unilateral executive power. He doesnt have to persuade anyone of anything. He doesnt have to twist congressional arms. This guy is no way a lame duck and wont be until hes on the helicopter leaving. The one thing that they will find and i saw this in 2007 and 2008 is that the front page stories become about the president ial campaign and he decided not to comment on that today which i thought was a smart move. All right. Thank you so much panel. Straight ahead they are being called the bonnie and clyde teens. They are young and love and on run. They are considered armed and dangerous first.
