Those new glasses . They are. Do i look smarter . Yeah, a little. Youre making money now, are you investing . Well, ive been doing some research. Let me introduce you to our broker. How much does he charge . I dont know. Okay. Uh, do you get your fees back if youre not happy . dad laughs wow, youre laughing. Thats not the way the world works. Well, the worlds changing. Are you asking enough questions about the way your wealth is managed . Wealth management, at charles schwab. The fact of the matter is he doesnt realize we now live in the 21 century. And that war is very different than it used to be before. Not armies, massively marching on each other, and air forces. But now we have dirty bombs, and we have Cyber Attacks. And we have people who will be attacking our electrical grid. That was dr. Ben carson at tonights republican showdown in south carolina. He joins us now from the spin room with more. Dr. Carson, youre talking about the electrical grid and cyber warfare, i dont think people are fully aware of how dangerous that really is and this could be a real clear, present danger to america. Its not talked about a lot. I read a lot about it. Electrical magnetic pulse, etc. These are real threats that could happen if were not careful. Theyre very real threats. And it doesnt just have to come from a nuclear explosion. It can come from the sun. There is a emt from the sun averaging every 150 years. The last one was 155 years ago. So were due for one any time. Were not taking the appropriate steps to harden the grid. We need to harden it and have several layers of Electrical Safety available to us. It will set us back several decades and p coordinated with Cyber Attacks and dirdy bombs you can imagine the chaos that would ensue. It could be devastating to the country. You have been asked about Lindsey Grahams proposal about 20,000 more troops on the ground in iraq and to battle isis, excuse me, battle isis, is that something, would you support that . Do you think there are other ways to take out isis and defeat it . Where do you stand on troops on the ground there . Well, what ive said is we need to give our military experts the mission and say what do you need to accomplish this mission . If they say we can accomplish it with just, you know local people here, in our special ops, that is great. If they say we need boots on the ground, you give them what is required in order to accomplish a goal, not just to keep it going and not just to contain it. But to end the fight quickly. Dragging it out doesnt do us any good. Ive been thinking long and hard about this. We lost 58,000 people, men, brave men in vietnam. We lost 5,000 in iraq and afghanistan. I met others that lost limbs and arms over the years. Does america need to transition to a different type of warfare . Im not talking only about drone strikes but more sophisticated weaponry. We dont have to go door to door like we did in the iraq war. This recent war. Absolutely. How soon do you think wick get there . I think we need to be, you know working on that kind of research. One ever the real problems of with us getting out of the space race with so many military inventions came out of that. That is why were able to stay leaps ahead of everybody else, theyve caught up with us now, we need to reinstitute that program because of the innovation that came out of that. But yes, we need other types of warfare. There is no question about it. But we need perspective. We need to understand if we dont win this war over there were going to be fighting the war over here. Its not going to be five thu or 58,000. Its going to be hundreds of thousands of our people. Or maybe millions of our people being killed. Weve got to have perspective here. In that sense, is donald trump right when he says there ought to be a National Muslim ban when our fbi director and our special envoy to defeat isis . Is a temporary ban ominous limb countries a bad idea . I wouldnt ban people based on their religion, but significant requirements. If theyre coming from an area, from virtually every area. Because paris attackers had a belgium passport. We should northbound a war setting now. Which means we be able to evaluate all of our visas. Isis is very sophisticated telling their followers cut your beard, put on a crucifix. Blend in with the population. That makes it more scary. It does. If we cant verify who we are, they dont come in as far as im concerned. Lets talk about the state of your campaign. I guess you let top people go. Then, they went to the press. Criticism over the relationship with someone i know and like a lot, armstrong williams. Tell us about the move. How has it impacted your campaign. Were 17 days out of iowa. Well, you know, you have a Campaign Structure that is like a threestage rocket. You know, first first your state first states get you to a certain level. And if the next state doesnt fire, you kind of stall out there. That is what is happening. So we needed to get the second stage going. And sometimes, elements of the first stage say i dont like this nm. You have to do what you have to do in order to reach your goal. Its essential. Good to see you and thank you for your time. You, too, thank you, sean. Coming up, reaction to tonights big debate, also, later, john kasich will join us from the spin room in south carolina. That and more on this special late edition of hannity. To understand the values in new york city are socially liberal, pro abortion or pro gay marriage, focus around money and the media. I guess i can frame it another way. Not a lot of conservatives come out of manhattan. Im just saying. So, conservatives actually do come out of manhattan. Including William F Buckly and others just so you understand. New york is a great place, its got loving people, wonderful people. When the World Trade Center came down, i saw something that no place on earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than new york and we rebuilt Downtown Manhattan and everybody in the world watched and everybody in the world loves new york and loves new yorkers and very to tell you that was a very insulting statement that ted made. That will be one of the most talkedabout moments from tonights republican debate. Joining us now, steve hays, Peter Johnson junior and monica crowley. I think has come down to a threeman race. Trump, cruz, and marco rubio. Anyone disagree . I would add Chris Christie. I thought he had a good night tonight. I dont see look, hes doing better in New Hampshire. But i dont see his path to the nomination. Steve, do you agree with monica . I do agree with monica. I think, look, if i were dividing it, id say 30 on trump, 30 on marco, and 30 on cruz and maybe ten on marco. Who what will happen. I dont have a crystal ball or id be in vegas right now. Peter johnson junior . Chris christie is not breaking through. I dont think hes going to break through. The top three, ted cruz won the birther issue. Marco rubio was pretty good over all, but i believe donald trump won this debate big, big time. Big time. Monica . Your thoughts . Who won the debate . I think there were a couple defining moments. One was ted cruz. He needed to handle the eligibility question that had been raised by donald trump. And he needed to handle it with facts and finesse. I think he did both of those things but i think donald trump owned the two other defining moments during this debate. The first is what you just played when he handled cruzs attack on new york values. It was pitch perfect. His tone, his content, the fact it was unscripted and came from the heart. I think it was brilliantly handled. The other defining moment which i agree with peter, won him this debate, when asked about his personal business interests versus the national interests. He responded again in a very heart felt emotional way and said look, if im elected president i dont care about my company, i only care about america. That is the push back against elites that sought to empower themselves to keep tapping into. Maybe showing another side of himself. You know, sticking up for the people of new york, maybe empathy for people struggling and there are many of them, steve . What do you think . I agree with monica on the moments that donald trump had defending new york. Really a terrific moment for him. Probably the best they have had in the debates. I dont think he won the debate. I think he had highs and lows. He had some other moments where it was more energetic inco here ye yenson the tariffs. I thought ted cruz had a fantastic night. I think the answer cruz gave on the birther issue put donald trump back on his heels. Its one of the first time we saw donald trump looking weak. Cruz was able, with that answer, definitive, alpha male, put it on there. I thought trump had great moments and i thought marco rubio had a great debate. I think of all of the debates so far, maybe because theyve polished up their lines and thinking, it was entertaining and informative, funny, Peter Johnson junior. I think the real winner here is the Republican Party because any of those people, compared to Hillary Clinton, look so much better. The Republican Party is a big winner. Certainly the business channel as well. This is probably one of the mostinteresting debates. The questions were fair, the questions were balanced and brought forth a lot of different opinions. With regard to trump, i believe he won by sheer force of his personality and by the fact he was not going to back down, and not going to be embarrassed to be a new yorker. I think mr. Cruz made a critical mistake. People in the United States like donald trump and they know that in some sense he represents new york. We all live in new york and pay the extra 4 city tax. And it is a liberal city. Except for fox news and sean hannity and other folks. That put this endeavor together. This is the headquarters of fox news. An opportunity for all people to be heard, including people on the right. I honestly felt that this debate got to learn more about these candidates. I want to come back and get more of your opinions. Well have more of this great panel right after the break and then later, Ohio Governor john kasich will join us live from the spin room as this late edition of hannity continues. How do i know im getting the best price on this . Well match any competitors price. What about this . Price match guarantee. And this . Yep so no monkey business, no tomfoolery . Oh, we do have tom foolery, tom. Staples has a price match guarantee. Make low prices happen. Staples make more happen. Hillary clinton cannot be president. It will lead to greater war in this world and remember this. After Hillary Clinton and barack obama have had nearly eight years we have fewer democracies in the world than when they started. If she gets elected shes under investigation with the fbi right now. If she gets elected her first 100 days might be going back and forth between the white house and the court house. We need to stop that. Someone who cannot handle intelligence information appropriately cannot be commander in chief and someone who lies to the families of the four victims in benghazi can never be president of the United States. The republican candidates going after Hillary Clinton hard after tonights debate. Still with us, monica crawly, fox news legal analyst Peter Johnson junior. Here is a question. I spend time up at night, i really, if im right that its these three, and ill concede the point to steve hays. I think Chris Christie is doing well in New Hampshire. Lets see what he does in the primary there. Here is my question. Peter johnson junior, who of those four is most electable against Hillary Clinton . I think ill say two. Ill say donald trump, and senator rubio. Donald trump, i believe would bring 20 to 25 of the democratic party, disaffected democrats to come out and vote for republicans. We have not seen that in a very, very long time. Do you think he can win new york, peter . Yes. I do. New jersey . Pennsylvania . Donald trump . Yes. Can rubio or cruz do that . Rubio, i think has a Great Potential based upon his background. And based upon the particular passion he brings. There is no doubt he is a star. He will be president if not this time, he will be one day. Its going to be a very hard, hard race. I agree with that. Monica, who of those four is most electable . Well, frankly i think any of them could beat Hillary Clinton assuming shes going to be the democratic nominee. But i mean, you look at her i highly recommend if you look at her okay. Look. When you look at the polling shes vulnerable, losing ground across all Traditional Democratic constituents. I think the root of the country now is in a place where they want a change and push to something displayed in this debate tonight, that struck me for a long time, at least on both sides have attacked anger, okay, as bad tone or unserious or radical. As a way to disqualify candidates who got angry about the state of the country and where hell yeets elites were taking us. What you saw tonight is all of these candidates saying this stops now. This kind of selfrestraint forced on us has got us to this place where we are. That is going to end with us. Electability is going to matter to me. When i get into the voting booth, that would be a very that would be 50 of my thought process. I dont think we can concede the white house. I agree with marco rubios comments. Its irreparable damage at this point. I want americans in a better position. I want america leading on the world stage. Who is the most electable . Monica, straight out. I think any of the top four will have a great chance. I need an answer, help me. Youre staying trump . I think donald trump. Steven hays . I think trump is the least electable. But im willing to be look, i didnt think donald trump was going to be a xet fore for the republican nomination. He is clearly a competitor so maybe who i thought i understood before maybe im not understanding. I dont think hed have the kind of enduring cross party appeal that peter and monica do. I think 11 months opposite Hillary Clinton for 11 months. The things that will end for tru trump you have been, for six months you and others have been harsh against donald trump and every prediction hes going to fall on his face has proven false, hes sustained a lead for six months. That is a stunning performance. Sean, i just said that. I just said that. Im telling you i underestimated him. You dont take the time to say that peter has been a trump booster, that you point out every time im on. Woah, woah. Look. Trying to be objective about it i think hes got a good shot at winning. In this country, people are concerned about their economic future, and they wonner whether somebody is getting something that is keeping them from getting it. That is not the america i have known. My father would say johnny, we dont hate the rich. We just want to be the rich. We have to make sure every student has the tools. Weve got to fight like crazy to people can think the American Dream still exists, because it does. That is Ohio Governor, john kasich tonight. Governor kasich joins us now from the spin room. Hes in south carolina. Governor, good to see you. How do you feel about it . Great. Great. I got to talk about the things i think americans really care about. Their jobs, their children, their wages. Many of the things that you talk about, you know under employment, people who have been left behind. I got to talk about that tonight and i thought it was a very well managed debate and i am very pleased. I thought it was the best in terms of substance and entertainment value. We got to hear from all of the candidates, including yourself. Lets talk about the polls. You come up quite a bit in New Hampshire. And now, in double digits there. Im really actually running in second place now in three out of four polls. That is the key for me. If i can come out of New Hampshire and hannity says look at kasich here, then, if hannity says it. Well, im. Well, youre a buddy of mine and if you say it, its the truth. If i do come out as a big story, i will be known nationally and will be able to raise the money that i need. If i come out of New Hampshire as a story, i believe ill be the republican nominee. One of the things happening this year is there is this battle, this conflict. Quote, establishment versus the more conservative, insurgent wing of the party, if you will. You see that most americans dont trust washington republicans. Maybe because you have been there and maybe because youve been governor, you know, where do you put yourself in that battle . Or that conflict . Yes. You know, a media guy said yesterday there is the establishment lane and antiestablishment lane, but you, john kasich, youre in your own lane. That is why i think were seeing the rise in New Hampshire. I
