When you look at these hospitals on the amount they order, you say, how much could they possibly you so much . We are supplying a tremendous amount and we just ordered a lot from walmart and he is taking this on personally. I said, let it be shipped not to a warehouse, but directly to the side of the hospital or wherever they need it. We save a lot of time when we do that. Walmart, in addition to many other companies and people is now involved at the highest level. President trump i dont think we are losing ground, but we dont want to lose ground and that is why were doing it. Its a big fight. I have seen many families who are wiped out because they lost a son or daughter, whatever, all of them. We dont want to lose ground. We are heavily focused on the virus, very heavily focused. With this we have never heard after this goes into effect which essentially is now, we will never have been so focused on drugs coming into our count country. We have asked states where they have large manufacturers of different types of equipment to use those local factories, local plants and have it made directly, ship it to the hospital spirit we are shipping things and we have almost 10,000 ventilators which we need for flexibility. It sounds like a lot, but its not because as you see on the board from yesterday, this plan, as this virus moves, moves very fast. We dont know yet whether we will need it in louisiana, new york, wherever it may be. We are ready for it. We are totally ready for it. We already agreed to ship over 1,000 today two different locations. We have to have the flexibility of moving the ventilators to where the virus is going. We will be able to see that, we will see that a couple of days in advance. Right now we have a nice pile. We have a lot more coming in. I think we have 11 Companies Making ventilators right now, very good companies. Theyre making them, do you know about ford and general motors. We have a lot of Companies Making ventilators right now. Now the question is when you make one, he doesnt made in 15 minutes. Its not a mask it can go quickly. A ventilator takes time to bui build. It is complex, it is big, it is expensive, et cetera. Earlier i spoke to our nations incredible warriors and military families. I spent a long time on the phone with thousands and thousands of families. In order to stop the spread of the virus, some of these families have delayed moves to their next station. In other cases, military families are waiting longer to welcome home the heroes from deployment. There is a tremendous burden to bear and the families have been involved with us so long and they are incredible. Without the families they couldnt be the great Service Members that they turned out to be. They understand that. I must say protecting our military families is our top priority. They understand what is happening with respect to the virus. They understand it well. They have been fantastic. To make, procure, deliver medical supplies to our doctors, nurses and Health Care Workers, my administration is leveraging the american manufacturer supply chains and innovators across the industry and across every industry. Because of the actions that we have taken under the defense production act, manufacturers and suppliers are sharing with fema the mother plant orders and allocations to states and to hospitals all over the region. This enables fema and hhs to work closely with state, governments, and private sectors to get Critical Resources to highly impacted areas. We are focused on getting materials to the right places at the right time. We wanted to go directly to the hospital, directly to a certain location. Ideally not even hit the states warehouses. These supplies will soon be distributed around the country. We have large cargo planes coming in from various parts of the world. Every day new plane loads are landing in cities such as new york, miami, chicago, los angeles. Additional flights have been scheduled and we are adding more and more. There actually coming in ahead of schedule. A lot of these flights are coming in with a a lot of material ahead of schedule. The amount of usage, the amount of is something that nobody has ever seen before. We are getting so much, but no matter how much we get, we seem to use it up very quickly. More than 70,000 National Guard personnel have now been activated all across our country. On tuesday the Vice President sent a letter to the governors calling calling of no plans in place to use the National Guard to move medical supplies from warehouses to hospitals. A lot of times youll deliver supplies to a warehouse in a state, someplace in new york, or in new jersey, or in connecticut. Wherever it may be. Theyre having difficulty getting it moved, so what we are doing is we dont bring it directly to the hospital, we authorize a special authorization for the National Guard to go into that facility and move it for th. The National Guard is moving a lot of the medical supplies into a hospital or into an area where it stated by the state. As i said yesterday, difficult days are ahead for our nation.
